The prenuptial photos of Toni Gonzaga and Paul Soriano have been released for the world to see!



On Instagram, Photographer Oly Ruiz posted the prenuptial photos of the couple taken at the National Museum in Manila. More photos can be viewed on Oly's blog My Metro Photo.



The couple remains mum on their wedding date but they revealed recently that their wedding will take place in Taytay, Rizal, Gonzaga's hometown. Earlier reports claim Toni and Paul are set to tie the knot this Friday, June 12.

Philippine Azkals Launch WC Bid Against Bahrain

The Philippine Azkals are set to try once more for a slot in the prestigious FIFA World Cup when they tangle with tormentor Bahrain in their first match for the 2018 World Cup Qualifiers on Thursday night (June 11) at the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bulacan.



Manager Dan Palami and Head coach Thomas Dooley are raring to field in what people have said to be the strongest lineup of the Men’s National Team in recent history. Gone are the days when the Azkals gambled for long balls and home run plays which made them susceptible to incredibly fast and deadly counters from the opposite side. The process has been long and arduous for Dooley who had to overhaul the system and transform the Azkals into a team that relies more on short passing and overlapping attacks to unlock defenses.


Bolstering the team in this year’s edition of the qualifiers are returnees Stephan Cabizares-Schrock, who has been a solid attacking midfielder for the team even before his absence, and keeper Neil Dula-Ethridge, who was impressive in a number of his appearances on goal. But the real cause of excitement from even those inside Philippine Footbol Federation (PFF) are four key players, three of which might end up as the new faces of the team, that strengthens a widely-observed problem area for the Azkals: the midfield.


Young booters which include Kevin Langbhen-Ingreso, who grew up in Germany, has decided to don the colors of the country along with Iain Irinco-Ramsay and Luke Zantua-Woodland strengthens the national side’s midfield along with holdovers Simone Mondiali-Rota, Patrick Alcala-Reichelt, Manny Gelito-Ott, Martin Pineda-Steuble, and Schrock. While the aforementioned holdovers figure to get a chunk of field time, Ingreso, Ramsay and Woodland are ready to show what top-notch international football competition left PFF officials salivating for their services.


People are especially high on the Germany-based kid for playing a position that the side sorely lacks: the central defensive midfielder who is the link between the offense and defense of football. Ingreso can play that and even slide back to center back and anchor the wall in front of Ethridge with Rob Dazo-Gier, Juani Aldeguer-Guirado and former J-League Youth defender, Daisuke Caumanday-Sato.

"Ode To My Father" Film Review: Touching Korean Film About Landmark Events In Their Modern History

ODE TO MY FATHER was released in Korea in December, 2014 and is the highest grossing Korean film so far this year, after being the number one movie in the box office for several weeks. It's easy to see why Koreans loved it as it reflects several landmark events in their recent history. Directed by Yoon Je-kyoon, it shows the evolution of modern Korean from the 1950s to the present, told from the point of view of an ordinary man as he experiences big historical events.

First is the Hungnam Evacuation of 1951 during the Korean War when thousands of refugees fled from the invading communist forces. From what would eventually become North Korea, they were transported to what would be South Korea by US navy boats. The child Duk-soo and his family are about to evacuate but his father stays behind when his sister Mak-soon gets lost. His dad tells Deok-soo to take his mother and his two younger siblings to the southern port city of Busan, where Deok-soo's aunt runs an imported goods store in the bustling Gukje Market. Before leaving their family, Deok-soo's father tells him to be the head of the household while he is gone.

Cinema One Originals 2015 finalists revealed - Animated, comedy, drama, horror, rom-com stories make the cut

A promising and diverse line-up which features ten stories on comedy, drama, romantic comedy, and animation have made the cut for this year’s Cinema One Originals finalists, coming from a pool of veteran and up-and-coming film makers who are allocated with P2 million each to showcase their films in November for the annual film fest.

Raymond Red, the only Filipino who has won the coveted Palme D’Or in the short film category at the Cannes Film Festival is back in the film competition scene with his Cinema One Originals 2015 entry, “Mga Rebeldeng May Kaso,” a youth drama film revolving on the aftermath of the 1986 People Power Revolution which spawns a group of young dreamers who immerse themselves in the culture of independent and alternative cinema.

Red’s fellow veteran indie filmmaker Loy Arcenas debuts his first Cinema One Originals film this year with “Mirador,” a heavy drama story that showcases a widow’s obsession with her dead husband’s illegitimate son. Arcenas is the director of the Special Jury Prize back-to-back winning films “Nino” and “Requieme!” in the Cinemalaya Festival.

Filmmaker and award-winning actor Bor Ocampo proves his mettle once more in “Dayang Asu,” an action drama about a son who tries to show to his father that he can survive in a dog-eat-dog world despite legalized corruption. Ocampo is a Gawad Urian Best Supporting Actor nominee and the brains behind the critically acclaimed short film, “Mabuhay Ang Pilipinas.”

After four years, Sari Dalena makes a comeback to Cinema One Originals with “Dahlin’ Nick,” a docu-drama that explores the life and works of National Artist for Literature, Nick Joaquin. Dalena directed the 2011 Cinema One Originals, “Ka Oryang.”

Another filmmaker that makes a comeback to Cinema One Originals is Ara Chawdhury, the assistant director of “My Paranormal Romance” and production designer of “Aberya,” two Cinema One Originals films. This year, Ara is set to direct “Miss Bulalacao,” a small town drama that chronicles the story of Dodong, a young drag queen who joins a gay pageant in the hopes of gaining acceptance in his father’s community.

“My Paranormal Romance” director Victor Villanueva enters the competition once more with “Ricky Boy: The Wonder Boy,” a comedy story about a famous child faith healer who suddenly loses his powers, but meets someone who prompts him to go on a journey with friends to get his healing powers back.

Writer director Joel Ferrer showcases the lone romantic comedy story among the list with “Baka Siguro Yata,” a film on intertwined stories of a dysfunctional extended family showing different views of love in each generation.

Newcomer Ivan Andrew Payawal adds an interesting addition to the lineup with “The Comeback,” a story that follows a 32-year-old former famous actress who loses everything in her life and decides to commit suicide. On the day she decides to kill herself, she receives a package containing four letters and a dead man’s ashes.

Aspiring filmmaker and software engineer Carl Joseph Papa’s animation entry, “Manang Biring” tells the moving tale of a terminally ill but feisty old lady who learns to accept that she will soon pass away. One day, she receives a letter from her long estranged daughter saying that she will be home for Christmas. Knowing that she will not make it, Biring will go to great lengths to prolong her life just to give her daughter a happy Christmas.

Meanwhile, the horror entry, “Bukod Kang Pinagpala” by Sheron Dayoc features a mother-daughter tandem who lives in an old house replete with images of Catholic icons and symbols. As the daughter struggles with the demented religious fanaticism of her mother, she seeks help for her mother’s behavior that makes their relationship turn horrific.

Cinema One Originals is now on its 11th year and is home to critically acclaimed films including the highest grossing indie film, “That Thing Called Tadhana.”
