Matteo Guidicelli On Why He And GF Sarah Geronimo Have Agreed Not To Work With Each Other

MATTEO GUIDICELLI is asked at the “Tupang Ligaw” presscon if he’s really banned to work with girlfriend Sarah Geronimo. “Hindi naman banned, that’s a strong word,” he says. “Mutual decision namin ni Sarah na hindi kami magsama sa trabaho to separate our work from our personal life. Para mas tahimik, less intriga.”

So how would he describe Sarah’s role in his life? “She’s a big part of my life as she’s my inspiration. But all the people in my life, lahat sila, I feel blessed to have them because they motivate me well, they guide me to excel.”

Have they planned what to do on Valentine’s Day? “No, not yet, hindi pa namin napag-uusapan. Kasi pareho kaming busy, e. She’s promoting her new album at ganun din ako. I’m promoting my album and my first action movie, ‘Tupang Ligaw’.”

But will he invite her to the premiere night of “Tupang Ligaw” on February 16 at Fisher Mall Cinema 3? “Definitely. And I hope she can make it kasi I’m very proud of this movie. First time ko to do an action film and I really prepared for all my action scenes. Kumuha ako ng team of action experts, one of them is a former CIA agent na naging stunt director, to help me out in my fight scenes. I also did all my stunts here kaya bugbog at pasa ang inabot ko. Pero okay lang. I’m very satisfied sa kinalabasan ng movie namin.”

In the story, he plays a soldier who goes to a no-man’s land called Barrio Paraiso, which is ruled with an iron hand by a kingpin called Diablo, played by Paolo Contis. Paolo is a Fil-Italian, just like Matteo, so they quickly bonded well with each other. Matteo is looking for his brother, Rico Barrera, who goes missing. He meets his brother’s widowed wife, Ara Mina, and son, child actor Johnny Regana, and he learns that his brother was killed for defying Diablo.

He then takes it upon himself to revenge the murder of his brother and he will be up against the entire private army of Paolo. The movie is produced by BG Productions and the directorial debut of Rod Santiago who wrote Matteo’s past hit TV series, “Agua Bendita”, and other hit komiks novels that became movies, led by Robin Padilla’s “Bad Boy”.

Matteo is sure to attend the grand birthday party of “Tupang Ligaw” producer Baby Go on February 4 where all the new projects of BG Productions will be officially announced, including Ai Ai de las Alas’ “Area: Higanna Magkano” where she’ll play a cheap prostitute directed by Louie Ignacio, “Nuclear Family” starring Ara Mina in a sex-drama about a cougar and her retinue of toyboys directed by Jason Paul Laxamana, and “Siphayo”, a sex drama with Nathalie Hart, Luis Alandy, Alex Medina, Alan Paule, Susan Africa and Elora Espano.
