Heart Evangelista and Chiz Escudeo Wedding Set Anytime Soon
 Source: ABS-CBNNews.com
Is  Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero set to bring Heart Evangelista to the altar anytime soon?
Unlike other politicians who are already gearing up for the 2016 presidential elections, Escudero is more focused on his plans of settling down with current girlfriend Heart Evangelista.

In an interview with ANC’s “Headstart” on Monday, Escudero admitted that he wants to get married before 2016.

“Mas may pinaghahandaan ako bago mag 2016 kesa yung 2016. 'Yun muna. I would want to [get married]. Again, kung si Allan (Cayetano) may ‘I want to become a president,’ this is what I want before 2016,” he said.

The Senator, however, said he has yet to formally propose to the Kapuso actress.

“But, of course, we talk about it in broad strokes, that we would want to be there at some point in time. But the actual process of step one, step two, proposal and saying yes, planning, wala pa 'yun,” he said.

Escudero stressed that family always comes first for him, which is why he wants t o get married again.

“It’s not odd. At the end of the day, family is important. Family should be higher than any political ambition because your stint in politics will end at some point in time in your life. Titigil at titigil 'yun. Pero 'yung pamilya, it’s always going to be there,” he said.

Asked if he is certain that Evangelista is already the right woman for him, Escudero simply quipped: “You don’t enter into a relationship unless you do.”

Demolition Job Disproves Myths About Cellphone Usage

Demolition Job Disproves Myths About Cellphone Usage

Tonight at 10:00pm on TV5, Paolo Bediones will debunk wrong notions about cellphone use in his myth-busting show Demolition Job.

The ability to cook popcorn is said to be the latest use of cellphones. In a YouTube video, several cellphone units were shown surrounding popcorn bits. The handsets were activated until the popcorn bits were cooked.

In a Facebook post, a boy was shown to be in critical condition after his cellphone exploded while he was using it. His cellphone was said to be plugged into an outlet when it exploded.

The Local Government Code or R.A. No. 7160 strictly prohibits cellphone use at gas stations especially when gasoline is being pumped into a vehicle since cellphones in use might explode.

This Monday, we will find out about the right and wrong notions and the myths surrounding cellphones.

With the help of a chemist and a physicist, Paolo undertook experiments to find out which cellphone-related events are factual and which ones are mere conjectures.

In this episode, the Raha Volunteers Fire Department, Quezon City Police District Bomb Squad, and Lineline Ambulance Incorporated were on standby for a quick response in case of accidents.

Tensions flared during certain experiments especially when a cellphone ignited. At the end of the day, the whole Demolition Job team succeeded in dishing out information that will be used for daily living.

Tune in to Demolition Job on TV5 at 10:00pm tonight, put your cellphones to rest, and pause from doing selfies because your wrong notions about cellphone use will be debunked.

Whole Cast Of 'Ikaw Lamang' Delivers Uniformly Fine Acting In Its Pilot Week

WE WERE invited to the celebrity screening of the pilot week of ABS-CBN’s sprawling teleserye “Ikaw Lamang” at Trinoma. Fans of plot-oriented soaps will surely enjoy this bittersweet love story ala-Romeo and Juliet about a poor sakada (Coco Martin) and a rich hacendera daughter (Kim Chiu) who will go through travails and tribulations to prove their love for each other.

The story starts in 1964. There are two hacendero families: The Hidalgos and the Miravelezes. The Hidalgo family is composed of Tirso Cruz III who’s the mayor of the sugar town of Salvacion, his wife Cherie Gil, their son Franco (Louis Abuel as a boy, Jake Cuenca as a grownup) and Cherie’s scheming dad Ronaldo Valdez. The Miravelez family consists of John Estrada, his wife Angel Aquino and daughter Isabel (Alyanna Angeles as a girl, Kim Chiu later).

Then there are the sakadas or obreros represented by Cherry Pie Picache, a single mom with son Samuel (Zaijian Jaranilla as a boy, Coco Martin later), and Cherry Pie’s parents Daria Ramirez and Spanky Manikan, plus their family friends, sisters Lupe (Meryll Soriano) and Mona (Xyriel Manabat as a kid, Julia Montes later.)

The only good characters among the grownups are Tirso (a kind and humane mayor) and Angel (a battered wife). The rest are tainted: Cherry Pie is rumored to be a slut and Samuel is her bastard son, Cherie Gil is already pregnant by another man when she married Tirso, John Estrada is an irresponsible family man and gambler who set on fire the sugar cane fields of Tirso’s family because Tirso earlier defeated him in the elections.

Samuel and Franco start as friends, with Samuel teaching Franco about how to plant sugar cane and Franco teaching Samuel how to read. But they soon become rivals for the attention of Isabel who quickly gets more attached to Samuel, who is quickly established as the sacrificial and selfless do-gooder of a hero who’ll do anything for a friend and his family.

Franco is also portrayed early on as a villain, scheming like his avaricious grandpa Ronaldo who teaches him all the wrong values in life. He takes credit for saving Isabel in a fire when it’s Samuel who’s the hero all the while. Isabel is a lonely child who finds a special friend in Samuel. Mona is Samuel’s long-time admirer but it’s pretty obvious Samuel regards her only as a friend and nothing else.

When Isabel’s mom learns of her closeness to Samuel, she is sent to a finishing school in London. Franco follows her there. Mona is sent to study in Manila by a relative. Only Samuel is left in the hacienda and he helps other sakada kids learn how to read. The last episode shown to us is set in 1975 and they’re now all grownups. Isabel and Franco return from London as Kim and Jake. Mona returns from Manila as Julia Montes, while Zaijian is now played by Coco Martin. This ends the pilot week.

The teleserye is shot like a movie, what with that sugar plantation fire scene and the big party scenes where everyone is sporting costumes and hair do’s of the era. But the real edge of the show is the exemplary acting of most of the cast members. They all have their fine moments. Tirso stands out in all his scenes as the caring mayor. Angel shines in the party scene where she reveals to her aunt, Marita Zobel, that she wants to leave her husband John. Cherie is splendid in that scene where she reveals that Tirso is not the real dad of her son. Cherry Pie is the “kawawa” type here, shedding tears in so many scenes. The four kid stars are also all superb. Zaijian has the best role as the good boy so viewers will surely sympathize with him, but Louis as the young villain also delivers beautifully. Alyanna is effective as the young Kim and Xyriel also excels as the loyal friend. But when they grew up, someone behind us quipped: “Parang ang layo naman ng hitsura ni Julia Montes kay Xyriel. Sa kulay na lang at ilong, ang puti at ang tangos ni Julia.” But her companion reasoned out: “E, kasi nagpunta yung character sa Maynila. So, gumamit doon ng skin whitening si Xyriel at nagpabago ng ilong kay Vicky Belo kaya nag-ibang hitsura niya.”

See, when fans like a show, they even find excuses for it.

Ai Ai De Las Alas On Why She's Currently Feuding With Kris Aquino

AI AI DE LAS ALAS says it’s no joke to play the role of a mermaid. As Banak in the new version of “Dyesebel”, she plays the foster mom under the sea of Anne Curtis. On land, Anne’s real mom is Dawn Zulueta. “Binago na story nito doon sa original,” she says. “Ang ama rito ni Anne, si Albert Martinez, isang siyokoy na kapatid ko. Sa original, parehong tao ang mga magulang ni Dyesebel, e. For my role, nag-aral talaga ako ng swimming kasi, before this, hindi talaga ako marunong lumangoy kundi mag-float lang. At one point, muntik akong malunod.

How’s her three kids? “Sancho is with me. Nag-try out siya sa PBB. Sana makapasok. Yung dalawa, nasa States, sa dad nila (Miguel Vera). Si Niccolo, papasok daw sa U.S. Navy. Si Sophia naman is in high school. I’m so proud kasi straight A’s ang grade niya. Mage-18 na siya on April 15 pero sa April 19 ang debut niya, so go ako roon ng April 17 para umattend. Nagpaalam na ko sa ‘Dyesebel’. Sa March 17 ang start ng airing namin, kaya halos araw-araw ang taping. May time na four days straight, nagte-taping ako.”

It’s said she and Kris Aquino, who used to be BFF, are now having a rift after Kris failed to condole with her when her mother died. It’s said this got worse when she and James Yap became good friends. Have they patched things up since then?

“Si James, dati ko nang friend yan. Noon pa. Pero ayaw niyang maging friend ko si James. E, bati na naman sila ngayon, so siguro puede na. Pero hindi ko pa rin siya binabati. Mas malalim ang dahilan, pero ayoko nang pag-usapan. Ayokong makipag-away sa kanya. Basta okay na itong ganito.”

What about her supposed entry in the next Metro-Manila Filmfest with her and Vilma Santos joining forces? “Siempre, gusto ko yun, Vilmanian ako, e. Pero wala pa namang official notice. Sinasabi pa lang ni Direk Wenn Deramas. Sana nga, matuloy. Ang siguradong matutuloy, yung indie film na gagawin ko for Cinemalaya. Ang title, ‘Ronda’, and I’ll play a policewoman. Bale dalawa ang mga actor na makakasama ko rito, pero kina-casting pa lang. Sabi ko sa director, si Nic Olanka na nagdidirek na sa ‘MMK’, kung puede, si Cesar Montano ang kunin doon sa role ng makaka-love scene ko. Handa akong magpakita ng boobs at puwet dito. Gusto kong manalo ng best actress award sa mga international filmfests, e. Co-producer din ako rito. Bale sa April ang shoot ng seven days straight raw.”

About her lovelife, she swears that despite rumors linking her to some guys, she’s loveless right now after separating from Jed Salang. “Na-annul nang marriage namin sa States. Dapat nga, first anniversary namin sa April 3, no? Pero inabot lang kami ng 29 days. Ayoko nang pakasal uli. Nagka-phobia na ko sa lalaki, e.”

Jed reportedly wishes that they’ll be friends again someday. “Ayoko nga siyang maging friend! Ganun lang ba yun? Milyones ang nagastos ko sa kanya, no? Tapos sasaktan pa niya ko! Buti na lang nabawi ko yung kotseng binigay ko sa kanya. Mga P3 million din yun.”

How is it working with Anne Curtis in “Dyesebel”? “First teleserye namin ito ni Anne. Pero sa movie, naging anak ko na siya in ‘Cute ng Ina Mo’. Hindi pa kami nagkakaeksena dito sa ‘Dyesebel’, e. Most of my scenes here are with Albert as my brother at yung baby Dyesebel na inaalagaan ko. Pag lumaki na si Dyesebel, dun na kami magiging magkaeksena ni Anne. Wala namang problema diyan. Mabait. Madaling pakisamahan.”
