Top Comedians Come Together to Bring You SAUSAGE PARTY
Cinema's funniest and most talented comedians team up for Columbia Pictures' brave, new comedy "Sausage Party," a recent No. 1 in the U.S.
Rated R-18 With No Cuts by the MTRCB, "Sausage Party" is about one sausage leading a group of supermarket products on a quest to discover the truth about their existence and what really happens when they become chosen to leave the grocery store
Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, and Michael Cera play sausages (Frank, Carl, and Barry, respectively); Kristen Wiig plays Brenda, a bun; Salma Hayek plays Teresa, a taco; Danny McBride plays Honey Mustard; Edward Norton plays Sammy, a bagel; David Krumholtz plays Lavash; Bill Hader takes on Firewater; Craig Robinson plays grits; and Nick Kroll plays a douche. James Franco and Paul Rudd play human beings: Franco as Druggie and Rudd as Darren, a store clerk.
Frank leads the foods' quest. "Frank is searching for the truth," says producer Kyle Hunter. "All of the other sausages in his package believe that out of those doors is heaven, and he's the only one who questions things. When he gets a nugget that something might be amiss, that's where his journey begins."
Kristen Wiig plays Brenda, Frank's bun of his dreams. "We found the Brenda character during the first recording session," says producer Ariel Shaffir. "We had the general idea, but as Kristen started riffing a bit, she started throwing in these cheesy jokes. That's when we realized, oh, Brenda is a jokester, one who thinks she's funnier than she really is. We went and rewrote the character based on what she had done, and she took a whole new shape. It was awesome."
Frank's journey is set in motion when Honey Mustard spills the beans on what really happens outside of the store. "Honey Mustard is a southern war veteran type," says producer James Weaver. "Danny McBride just kills that part."
Jonah Hill and Michael Cera join the fun as fellow sausages in Frank's package. Hill plays Carl, "a super-supportive friend of Frank's, who meets his demise," says Weaver.
Cera, on the other hand, is Barry "He transforms the most," says Hunter. "He starts out meek and going with the flow, and through this journey finds his inner strength. He's the one who gets outside the store and learns the truth in the worst possible way."
Edward Norton plays Sammy Bagel, Jr., having called dibs on the role from the beginning and refusing to let anyone else be cast in the part. "Edward was one of the first people we ever told about the project, and he kind of lost his mind for it," says screenwriter Evan Goldberg. "He became obsessed very quickly."
Norton also acted as something of a casting director according to Rogen and Goldberg, Norton was instrumental in bringing Salma Hayek on board. "We didn't really know her at all I'd been at a dinner with her once," says Goldberg. "She came in and went as hard as anyone else. She was literally sweating in the booth from jumping around. You understand why she's such a successful, awesome star she gives it her all."
David Krumholtz plays Sammy's nemesis of sorts, Lavash. "David Krumholtz has been attached to this project pretty much from the beginning," says Hunter. "He formed this character with us for maybe six or seven years he was in all the table reads we did. He's wanted to play this role he lived it. And he's probably the funniest person I've ever seen in my life."
Bill Hader, who has voiced film roles in countless animated features, takes on the role of Firewater. "He's the master of this stuff," says Goldberg. "It's one of the weirdest characters ever," says Seth Rogen, "and then the animators came up with all of the hand gestures."
Finally, James Franco plays a human character, Druggie. "I think people will watch the movie and not know it's him, the same way they don't think it's Edward Norton as a bagel," says Hunter. "Franco was the first actor who recorded with us, and he's just a madman. It really worked."
Opening across the Philippines on September 28, "Sausage Party" is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International.

Mark Wahlberg stars in 'Deepwater Horizon,' a true story of biggest man-made disaster - Poster & Trailer
Based on true events, academy award nominee Mark Wahlberg stars in “Deepwater Horizon,” an edge-of-your-seat drama that chronicles the last few hours of the men and women working in the most technically advanced oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico.
The Deepwater Horizon is an ultra-deep-water, advanced oil rig owned by the Swiss company Transocean and leased by British Petroleum that exploded on April 20, 2010, making it one of the largest man-made disasters recorded in history. The ultra deep-water drilling rig off the Louisiana coast – the Deepwater Horizon – riveted the world on that fateful day as it experienced a devastating blowout, fire and nearly unstoppable ocean floor oil leak. For 87 days millions watched, hearts in mouths, as more than 50,000 barrels of oil a day gushed from the sea floor into the Gulf of Mexico. It would become the largest accidental ocean oil spill in human history. The impact to marine life and the questions of what went wrong and why are ongoing.
The film, “Deepwater Horizon” follows a vital story that many have not seen: the story of the 126 crew members working aboard the Deepwater Horizon that day, caught in the most harrowing circumstances imaginable. They were skilled working men and women putting in a grueling shift in the hopes of getting back soon to families and lives ashore. In an instant, they were faced with their darkest hour, pushed to summon the courage to battle an unstoppable inferno blaze in the middle of the ocean, and when all seemed lost, to save one another.
Wahlberg takes on the role of real-life Transocean chief electronics technician Mike Williams, a devoted family man who was overseeing the rig’s computers and electrical systems on April 20th, when everything he imagined could go wrong … did. Oil rig workers are a notoriously tough and gritty breed. The work is physically punishing and ultra high-pressure – as workers grapple with complex equipment approximately 60-feet above remote seas. Yet even for Williams, what happened that day was unprecedented. Williams knew the work was desperately behind schedule, but he also knew the Deepwater Horizon had sophisticated defenses said to be able to prevent even the worst blowouts. Nevertheless at 10 p.m. that night, volatile methane shot up into the rig, and all the rig’s defenses failed. The result was a sudden, deadly explosion and a series of fireballs, as the shattered rig and its crew were shaken, hurtled and drenched in combustible gas. From that moment on, Williams was in a race to save his own life and those of his crewmates – each driven by the hope of making it home -- in an escape that seemed to defy all the odds.
Wahlberg hopes that unforgettably tense and triumphant moment reminds people of what the costs were that night, for those who made it home and those who didn’t. He concludes: “Like most people at the time this happened, I was only aware of the fact that the Deepwater Horizon was a huge manmade environmental disaster, there is so much people are not aware of about this story and it is so important that it be told.”
Discover the real earth-shaking story of the “Deepwater Horizon” when it opens on October 5 in cinemas from Pioneer Films.
“Deepwater Horizon” also stars a powerhouse cast including Dylan O’ Brien, Kate Hudson, Kurt Russell, John Malkovich and Gina Rodriguez.
