Chynna already thinking of settling down

They may not be vocal about it. But unlike other showbiz couples, Chynna Ortaleza and Railey Valeroso’s nine-year relationship seems to be as solid as the Rock of Gibraltar.

And there seems to be nowhere to go but straight to the altar. Although Railey has yet to pop the question, Chynna and her long-time boyfriend are already planning their future together.

Her boyfriend, she explains, runs provides supplies like uniforms to the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA). And business is good, so far.

Chynna believes Railey will make a good lifetime partner because they complement each other.

15 May 2012: Chynna Ortaleza being interviewed by the entertainment press during the press conference of GMA Network's

“He is the eldest in the family; I’m the youngest,” she explains. Her mother just allowed her to go out on her own. So even if she is two years older, Chynna knows she and Railey share the same level of maturity.

Chynna is turning out to be the more liberated one. When she asked Railey, “What do you think if we have a baby before we get married?”, he said no.

Conservative boyfriend

“He’s conservative,” Chynna relates. So living in is the farthest thing they would do.

The star of GMA’s upcoming drama “Luna Blanca” sees herself in front of the cameras even after she gets married “before I turn 35” (she’ll be 30 in December).

She and Railey have already talked about marriage and Chynna wants to finish her newly-minted three-year contract with GMA 7 first if and when her wedding will push through.

But the time frame doesn’t matter where Chynna’s acting career is concerned.

Hosting will be just as great, she adds.

One such character she can sink her teeth into is that of Divine, a scheming doctor in “Luna Blanca”.

“It’s a tricky role. On my first day of taping, I was asked to smile – a smile whose meaning you can’t really tell. You have to guess what’s on my character’s mind,” Chynna states.

She can’t tell up to when she will sustain this mystery to keep viewers glued on their screen. And that’s why Chynna is nervous. It’s her first time to tackle such a challenging role.

Second skin

Playing bad girl roles has become second skin to Chynna ever since director Joel Lamangan “pushed me to do my best” in a number of teleserye. And she’s enjoying it so much Chynna wants to follow in the footsteps of “Tita Jean Garcia” – seasoned, respected, versatile.

Lamangan also directs Chynna in the indie film “Migrante,” which tells the story of an OFW’s mysterious death n Mongolia. Chynna and the rest of the cast, led by Jodi Santamaria, shot the film in historic sites in Israel for five days.

Claudine apologizes to Cebu Pacific ground crew

All’s well between Claudine Barretto and Kristine Anne Ilagan and Charisse Bocboc, the two Cebu Pacific ground crew she had a controversial encounter with at the NAIA 3 carousel area on Sunday May 6.

An interview with Nelson Canlas in “24 Oras” on Thursday, May 17, revealed that Claudine met the ground crew and their respective families. Her lawyer, Alex Avisado said that she personally requested for a meeting to ask for an apology.

“I humbled myself, nag-apologize naman ako sa pagtaas ng boses ko sa kanila, habang nagko-complain ako sa Cebu Pacific noon,” Claudine said.

Happy and relieved

Claudine Barretto

She feels happy and relieved that those concerned warmly received accepted her apology.

“Tinanggap naman nila ‘yung apology ko. So, talagang thankful ako pati sa pamilya nila, dahil sobra silang warm at tinanggap ako,” she said.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth Bocboc, Charisse’s mother, denied that she plans to sue Claudine. Kristine and Charisse did not grant an interview since they don’t want their work to be affected.

According to the report, the ground crew denied that Claudine personally attacked or curse them.

Annabelle on politics: I must ask my family first

Controversial talent manager Annabelle Rama says she still has to confer with her family–on her side and that of husband Eddie Gutierrez–regarding plans of running as Cebu congressman.

In a phone conversation, Annabelle, who is currently in her native Cebu said her family is divided on the issue. Daughter Ruffa Gutierrez told Annabelle she is against it since “magulo ang pulitika.”

She is also willing to take up a course related to public office if she decides to run.

“Pwede namang mag-aral.

Annabelle admits she’s excited. But she needs her family’s support.

“Matagal pa naman ang October (the Comelec deadline for filing for candicacy),” she explains.

She relates that her cousin, Michael Rama of Cebu called her up two days ago and asked her if she wants to run for Congress.

Annabelle’s reply was to ask him and her brother to make a survey on whether the Cebuanos really want her to run for Congress.

Annabelle flew to Cebu, to register as a voter a few days ago. She is still there as of posting time.

“Meanwhile, her son, Raymond Gutierrez expressed his support on Twitter.

“It's still a long way to go & nothing's sure but family comes first. So whatever she decides to do, I will support her,” he tweeted.

Barbie on Bea: What rivalry?

Although tween actresses Barbie Forteza and Bea Binene are often pitted against each other, the former insists there’s no rivalry between them.

Hindi big deal,” Barbie said at the press conference of GMA 7’s TV drama “Luna Blanca”.

Adds Barbie, “Friends kami. Okay talaga kami.”

Barbie explains that she bonds with Bea on the set and tries to get closer to her. After all, this is not the first time they’re working together. Barbie and Bea co-starred in “Tween Hearts”. They play sisters in “Luna Blanca”.

Barbie Forteza

Mas masaya kase kapag lahat masaya, parang sa “Tween Hearts,”” Barbie told the press.

Proud of Bea

She also said that she is proud of Bea, who leads the cast of the TV series “Alice Bungisngis and Her Wonder Walis.” And Barbie knows Bea the feeling is mutual.

“Proud na proud ako kay Bea. Kasi noong nakapag-usap kami ni Bea, gustong-gusto talaga niya mag-artista. So, finally nakuha na niya yung gusto niya,” Barbie said.

Barbie has maintained her friendship with former on-screen partner Joshua Dionisio.

“Magkahiwalay naman po yung trabaho sa personal. So, hindi porke’t magkahiwalay na kami as a love team, eh hindi na kami pwedeng magkaibigan. Okay naman po kami ni Joshua.”

Barbie is “looking forward” to a close friendship with Elmo Magalona, her partner in the TV show “Tweets for my Sweet.” As for now, Elmo strikes Barbie as “funny and very playful.”

Louise balances school and showbiz

Louise delos Reyes was not able to attend the red carpet premiere of GMA Films’ “The Road” in Los Angeles last week. It was not because she’s taping for the Kapuso primetime show “My Beloved.” It’s because she’s busy finishing her internship at the Philippine Senate.

The Kapuso star is an incoming senior at Lyceum of the Philippines in Cavite, where she is taking up Foreign Service.

She admits balancing school and taping for her television shows can be difficult. But Louise tries her best to do so.

So the 18-year-old actress tries to find a compromise that would let her complete school requirements while taping “My Beloved.”

Louise delos Reyes

So ako, ten to five lang ako or ten to four. Sa taping naman, pag di ako mapakawalan, pinakakiusap ko na baka pwedeng i-move yung call time o pwedeng ma-cancel kung di ako pwede,” Louise told members of the press.

Louise added she didn’t find the transition between the entertainment industry and local politics too difficult.

After college

Her goal after college is just as impressive as her determination to finish school despite a busy showbiz career. She wants to take up law at the University of the Philippines in Diliman.

But since she is one of today’s busier Kapuso stars (besides “My Beloved,” a show with on-screen partner Alden Richards is in the works), Louise knows she has to choose between law school and showbiz someday.

Talagang kailangan mong i-sacrifice,” she said.

So kung ano yung kailangan mong i-grab ngayon, yun yung kailangan mong kunin. Ako, nasa thin line pa rin ako. Talagang tinitignan ko talaga.”

Enzo not an issue

Louise said her busy schedule is one of the reasons why she and fellow Kapuso star Enzo Pineda are just friends and are “getting there.”

“Kami namang dalawa, open kami sa press na we’re getting there, na andun na kaya lang, katulad ko, sobrang busy. Nahihirapan din akong kumuha ng time,” she said.

She thinks her special friendship with Enzo shouldn’t interfere with her successful tandem with Alden since stars who make up love teams have separate reel and real lives.

“Marami namang ganun. Naniniwala ako na pwedeng mong ihiwalay,” Louise said. “Yun nga yung sinasabi nung iba. Kasi iba naman yung personal life sa trabaho.”

Why Bianca doesn’t talk about Dennis

Kapuso star Bianca King remains mum on her rumored relationship with Dennis Trillo, saying that there are other things she could talk about other than her personal life.

“As much as possible, I’ll stick to the way I’ve always been. I don’t discuss masyado yung mga personal na details kasi naisip ko, I have other things to talk about to share with people,” the 27-year-old actress told members of the press.

Although Bianca knows she is of age to start a family, the “Broken Vow” star said she sees herself married “no sooner than 30.”

“If only I could have a baby tomorrow, I’ll have a baby tomorrow. Wala kasi akong kapatid e. And when I graduated from college, ang dami kong ka-batch na may anak na, na buntis na, na may asawa na. Naisip ko, ‘kailan kaya ako?’ But I can’t,” Bianca shared.

15 May 2012: Bianca King during the press conference of GMA-7's upcoming primetime show

She added, “Syempre, yung buhay nila is iba sa buhay ko. With the type of profession that I have, it’s not that easy. Maraming mawawala sa akin, e.”

Bianca, who recently finished her filmmaking degree at the De La Salle – College of Saint Benilde, said she wants to enjoy being single first.

“Gusto ko muna ma-maximize. Naka-set talaga yung goals sa akin, for myself. But if it happens, kung sabihin ni Lord na oras na, e di oras na,” she explained. “Pero if I would have my way talaga, gusto ko planado lahat.”

‘Acting is my life’

One of the things Bianca is enjoying now is her recent success as a lead actress in the Kapuso network.

Since her first lead role in the afternoon drama “Sinner or Saint” and now with “Broken Vow,” Bianca has become one of GMA-7’s go-to leading ladies.

My attention is not divided,” she said. “It’s like a full-time job now. Before kasi nung nagsu-support ako, ang dami kong pahinga sa set.”

Bianca added, “Acting is like my life now. Pag wala kaming taping, may workshops kami. Pag wala naman yun, I dance on Sundays, sa ‘Party Pilipinas.’ Show business is really my profession ngayon. Hindi siya like before na ginagawa ko for fun, ginagawa ko to earn a little money while I was in school.”

Being typecast in mature roles isn’t a big deal for Bianca, although she added her next project is more child-friendly—the upcoming primetime drama “Luna Blanca.”

“Ang daming nagsasabi sa akin niyan before, before I accepted ‘Broken Vow.’ If that’s what they’re giving me, I’m happy I’m being given work,” she said.
