THIS IS A VERY exciting time for lovers of local films. Today is the start of the Sineng Pambansa All Masters Edition featuring the good works of some outstanding filmmakers, shown without censorship at all SM Cinemas at a discounted ticket price of only P100. So far, we’ve seen four entries: “Lihis” by Joel Lamangan, “Tag-araw ni Twinkle” by Gil Portes, “Lauriana” by Mel Chionglo and “Ano ang Kulay ng mga Nakalimutang Pangarap” by Jose Javier Reyes and they’re all well acted, certainly all worth watching.
The premiere night of “Ano ang Kulay” at the SM Megamall last Monday night was the first public appearance of Ryan Agoncillo after his bout with dengue fever and pneumonia. His wife Judy Ann Santos came with him. We got the chance to interview him before the film was shown and he says all meetings about offers to him from various networks were put on hold after he got sick. It so happened that his wife is also in the midst of negotiations as to which network she’d choose to sign up with. Does this mean he’s going to where Juday will go?
“No, we have independent careers,” he says. “Hopefully, matuloy na ang meetings about my career plans ngayong magaling na ako. Maraming career opportunities, but we have to choose very carefully kung anong pipiliin namin. But I’m taking my time bago bumalik sa trabaho, kasi hinihingal pa rin ako pag nagsasalita. This is also the reason why I’m still taking a break from hosting sa ‘Eat Bulaga’. By next Monday na ako babalik doon.”
He’s not the only one missing in “Eat Bulaga” these days. What can he say to Wally Bayola after the sex video scandal of Wally with EB Babe Yosh? “I just hope he’s okay with his wife, his family. As a member of the Dabarkads, ang pakiusap ko lang, kung anuman ang pinagdaraanan niya ngayon, sana huwag na lang tayo basta manghusga at makialam.”
He’s happy that he was able to finish shooting “Ano ang Kulay” before he got sick. “It’s a very personal movie for Direk Joey. It’s his tribute to old people. Noon pa niya ito naikuwento sa akin as one of his dream projects and I’m glad to be a part of it ngayong natupad na niyang gawin ito.”
How was it working with the 84-year old award-winning actress, Rustica Carpio, as their family’s yaya for 60 years who later has nowhere else to go to when all the members of the family chose to live abroad?
“Ang lambot ng kamay niya, yun ang una kong napansin. May scene kasi na hinawakan ko siya sa kamay at sobrang lambot talaga ng kamay niya. She’s very good in this movie at maraming paiiyakin ang pelikulang ito.”

Ryan Agoncillo's Advice To Wally Bayola About Sex Video Scandal
Ina Feleo Is The Lead Actress On The First Week Of 'Akin Pa Rin Ang Bukas'
WE WERE AT THE special press screening of GMA-7’s new soap, “Akin Pa Rin ang Bukas” and it’s Ina Feleo who was the lead character at the start of the story. Lovi Poe, who plays her daughter, will appear at the end of the 5th episode yet to be shown on Friday.
Ina plays the new housemaid in the wealthy Villacorta household headed by business tycoons Liza Lorena and Freddie Webb. She came at the time that a big party is hosted for the couple’s balikbayan son, Gary Estrada, a playboy. Ina quickly falls for him and goes to bed with him, but he ignores her immediately the day after they’ve made love.
She gets pregnant, Liza accuses her of stealing some jewelry and she gets locked up in jail. Gary’s lawyer, Cesar Montano, and a widower cop, Kier Legaspi, who’s long been in love with her, help her get out of prison. So many things happen right in the very fast paced first episode. The whole show is presented by Director Laurice Guillen as pure unadulterated sudsy soap through and through, what with so many misfortunes happening to Ina and the baby she gives birth to.
How come Ina agreed to be the mom of Lovi Poe when she’s just a few years older than Lovi? “Okay lang kasi the story naman started nang wala pa si Lovi,” she says. “Maid nga ako nina Gary Estrada na nabuntis niya at si Lovi nga ang magiging anak namin. I will try to raise my daughter by myself but she has a congenital heart disease. May butas siya sa puso at para maipagamot siya, kusa ko siyang ibabalik sa pamilya ng ama niya.”
The show is helmed by her mom, Laurice Guillen, and it’s the first time they get to work together on TV. “Ngayon lang ako niya isinama sa project niya on TV. Okay naman pero noong ang kunan, yung bed scene namin ni Gary Estrada, nailang talaga ako. Nakailang takes muna. Talagang nilakasan ko na lang ang loob ko hanggang matapos siya. Noong panoorin namin sa monitor, maganda namang lumabas yung bed scene. Very sensual ang dating.”
So how does her mom like working on GMA-7? “Happy siya kasi she is given artistic freedom. Spoiled din kami lahat sa set dahil laging maraming pagkain. Tumataba na nga kaming lahat.”
Does she get special treatment from her mom? “No, equal ang treatment niya sa lahat ng cast members. Kahit ako, napagsasabihan pag hindi siya gusto sa trabaho ko. Nadirek na niya ko before sa indie movie na ‘Maskara’ and sa isang TV show sa TV5 noon, ‘Hush Hush’, but this is our first teleserye together. Even if she’s my mom, I made sure I listen to her and follow all her instructions. Ayokong mapulaan siya ng dahil sa akin.”
Billy Crawford And Andi Eigenmann Reveal The Real Score Between Them
BILLY CRAWFORD and Andi Eigenmann admit that they enjoyed working together in “Momzillas” and this must be the reason why they were linked to each other and Andi was accused of being the cause of the breakup of Billy and Nikki Gil. But their director, Wenn Deramas, says he can vouch that this just isn’t true.
“As their director, I think I’d be the first to notice if something is going on between them,” he says. “Matinik ako sa ganyan, e. Natutunugan ko agad kung namamagitan sa mga artista ko. With Billy and Andi, they became close pero as friends lang.”
What can Billy himself say about this? “Nakakahiya sa mga kasamahan ko kasi when all the news came out – naging bading ako na pati mother ko said when she saw me, kumusta na anak kong bakla? Naging adik din ako, na-link ako sa tatlong babae, ‘yung isa buntis daw. Ang masasabi ko lang, people have already made their own conclusions and they will speculate kahit ano’ng mangyari talagang open book ang buhay naming mga artista. Andi became a friend of mine. We became close and it wasn’t Andi’s fault kaya ako I already apologized to Andi kasi nadadamay siya sa personal life ko and at bilang respeto ko rin sa lahat ng kasamahan ko rito. Sa totoo lang, ayoko nang masyadong magsalita kasi they already made up their mind at hahaba lang. So, I’ve already closed the chapter, closed the book and I’m ready to move on. That’s all I can say. At aaminin ko na. Actually, kami ni Direk Wenn ang naging mag-on.”
With him joking, it’s obvious that he no longer feels sad about the breakup. Andi also says her piece. “Now that sinagot na niya ang issues, let’s just respect Billy. Sana huwag na kayong maghanap ng ibang mga kung anu-ano na puwede n’yong gawing dahilan, kasi nasagot na naman niya. Sana po irespeto na lang kung anuman ang sinabi niya.”

Bea Alonzo Feels Awkward Being Paired With Dingdong Dantes For The First Time
DINGDONG DANTES and Bea Alonzo are paired together for the first time in a movie produced by Star Cinema. This is Dong’s third movie with them after “Segunda Mano” and “One More Try”, both dramas for which he both won best actor awards. This time, he’s doing a light romantic comedy with Bea, who admits she felt a bit awkward when they started shooting.
“Siempre, sanay na akong mga Kapamilya ang leading men ko, like John Lloyd Cruz and Sam Milby,” she says. “Nagagawa ko nang makipagbiruan sa kanila. Si Dingdong, first time, so medyo nakakailang sa simula. Pero nakatulong naman yun kasi sa story, medyo nagkakailangan talaga ang characters namin sa isa’t isa.”
What does her BF Zanjoe Marudo say about it? “Wala namang problema sa kanya. Siya nga nagsabing I don’t have to worry kasi okay si Dingdong kasi nagkatrabaho na nga sila in ‘One More Try’ kaya magkaibigan na sila.”
Dong’s girlfriend, Marian Rivera, is know to be the jealous type. What if Marian would get jealous of her? “Walang ganun kasi pinadalhan pa nga niya ako ng pastries through Dingdong. Alam naman niyang taken na rin ako.”
