Is It The End of KathNiel? Kathryn Bernardo Agrees to Work with Jericho Rosales in Next Movie Only If....

A week after Jericho Rosales admitted that Kathryn Bernardo is his dream leading lady, the latter finally reacted and expressed how flattered she is for someone like the former to appreciate her.

"Wow. Thank you. And of course 'pag nanggaling 'yun sa isang Mr. Jericho Rosales, nakaka-flatter," Kathryn said in an interview.

Daniel Padilla, Kathryn's onscreen partner, interrupted her with a sort of "condition."

"Kung makakatrabaho man niya si Kathryn, sorry boss Jericho kasama ako dun," he said, laughing.

Jericho also said that Daniel is very lucky to have her.

"I think lucky din naman si Kathryn na meron siyang ako," Daniel related, laughing.

"Yeah, and lucky din naman si Kuya Echo to have Kim Jones. Idol ko 'yun," Kathryn added, referring to Jericho's wife. - starcinema.abs-cbn.com

Barcelona; A Love Untold Movie Review - Well Made Fan Movie That Accomplishes Its Intentions To Make Kathniel Play More Mature Roles

WE WENT to two malls on the first day of showing of "Ang Babaeng Humayo" as we can't wait to see it, only to find out that its screening hours start only from 5 PM and above. This gave us the chance to finally watch "Barcelona: A Love Untold" and we're happy to report that it's a well made fan movie. Kathniel fans will surely enjoy it, especially the ending which shows them smooching to their heart's content after some tentative and unconsummated tries throughout the film.

Daniel Padilla is Ely, and we see him at the film's opening scene being greeted by his dad (Joey Marquez) and family on his birthday. It turns out that this is just an old video and it's his girlfriend Celine who's taking the video so we don't see her face. Ely is watching it on his cellphone while inside a train in Barcelona, Spain.

It's obvious that Celine is already gone by this time, but it's only much later that we'll find out what happened to her. Inside the train, Ely sees Mia (Kathryn Bernardo), who he thinks is Celine, and follows her. He calls her "Celine!" And she barks annoyed: "Hindi ako si Celine!" We thought the more proper response to a total stranger is "Hindi Celine ang pangalan ko."

They cross paths again and again until Ely sees her so drunk, about taken inside a hotel by a foreigner, and rescues her. So that's how the relationship of the future lovers starts. Ely went to Barcelona to finish his architecture degree, on a scholarship financed by the parents of the late Celine (Cris Villanueva and Liza Dino). He also holds three jobs to help finance the needs of the demanding family of his dad and stepmom (Ana Capri).

Both Ely and Mia have big problems with their respective families. Ely, a lonely heart who can't move on from losing his first love, is the milking cow of his dad. He also has big mommy issues with his mom (Isabel Lopez) who left him and his dad when he was a child and remarried in Spain. Mia, in turn, has big daddy issues with her dad (Ricky Davao) who's forcing her to be a lawyer and who got so mad when she was disgraced in school for being caught cheating in an exam. She leaves for Barcelona to prove she can redeem herself but ends up homeless and penniless.

Ely helps Mia by making her stay in the apartment where he lives with his aunt (Aiko Melendez) and cousin (Joshua Garcia). He also helps her find a job but she's always having problems that not a day passes without Mia shedding buckets of tears and she looks like she actually enjoys wallowing in tears. They indulge in a surfeit of seemingly endless series of overly emotional dramatic scenes and whiny arguments that kinda wears you down and becomes quite annoying after a while.

 But if you're a diehard Kathniel fan, you wouldn't mind at all as they both do quite well in the well engineered and belabored dramatic scenes whose aim is to present them as more mature performers who suffer a lot. We think the film succeeds in that objective, but somehow, you'd miss their winsome charm and playfulness in their past movies, like "She's Dating the Gangster" and "Crazy Beautiful You".

Between the two, it's Daniel with his puppy dog eyes who exhibits more maturity in emoting as he doesn't have to resort to caterwauling all the time, the way that Kathryn does. His best scenes are not actually with her but with Isabel Lopez (who's also excellent), first in that restaurant scene where he finally gets to tell her upfront how much he hates her for leaving him as a child hungry for his mother's love, and later, when he visit her at her new home with his half siblings and learns to forgive her.

The film runs for more than two hours and there are so many "laylay" moments, particularly the scenes where Ely and Mia shoot pre-nuptial videos that bog down and do not help forward the film's narrative. Made on location in Barcelona and Director Olivia Lamasan makes sure they shoot several outdoor scenes using its well known landmarks as the backdrop, notably the gaudy monstrosity called Sagrada Familia of Gaudi. It's not as satisfying as the better written "Sana Maulit Muli" shot in 1995 in the U.S.A., but we feel it's a notch better than "Milan" shot in 2004 in Italy about a husband searching for his wife who doesn't really want to be found. Those who look for a relevant story about OFW's in Barcelona need to go to another movie as this film is not at all concerned with the Filipino diaspora.

Angel Locsin Plays Title Role Of 'The Third Party' Who Comes Between Sam Milby & Zanjoe Marudo In This Unconventional Love Story

ANGEL LOCSIN plays the title role in Star Cinema's newest offering, "The Third Party", which has a very unusual story. This is her second movie this year after "Everything About Her" with Rep. Vilma Santos. In the story, Angel plays Andi, an events organizer and aspiring fashion designer whose first love is Sam Milby as Max, but Sam broke up with her saying their relationship is not working. Years later, she hears again from Sam, saying he's introducing someone to her. She thought that this someone, Zanjoe Marudo, is a guy Sam wants to match with her because she's been loveless for sometime.

So you can imagine Angel's surprise when Sam introduces Zanjoe as: "This is Christian, my boyfriend." Yes, there is a gay angle in the story and we think Star rushed the play date of this movie to pre-empt the showing of another movie with the same theme, "Bakit Lahat ng Guwapo, May Boyfriend?" starring Dennis Trillo, Anne Curtis and Paolo Ballesteros from Viva. We think Viva should now let some months pass first before they show their own gay love triangle movie and not show it right after "The Third Party" as this will be to their disadvantage.

"Napakatapang ng Star Cinema sa project na ito dahil it's not the usual romantic comedy that we do," says Angel. "It shows kung ano ang feeling ng first love, tapos nagkahiwalay kayo, at nang magkita kayo uli, iba na ang kapiling niya. Same sex na. At bale ako ang naging third party sa relasyon nila."
"It's not just a gay movie," says Sam "It's about relationships, between friends na mga mature na tao, tapos nagsanga-sanga ang story and shows what they have to resolve as mature persons. It's the first time na may ganitong klaseng characters in a movie na ibang-iba ang dynamics."

"All of us are leads here, the major characters," says Zanjoe. "It's a very modern take on an unconventional love story na ngayon pa lang namin lahat nagawa. Sam and I are both doctors here. He's a pediatric oncologist and I'm a cosmetic surgeon. Kung minsan, may awkward situations involving us pero pinagtatawanan na lang namin and we had lots of fun sa shooting."

We ask Angel how is it working with Sam and Zanjoe? "At first, I thought mao-OP ako sa kanila, out of place, kasi masyado silang close, but masaya kaming lahat sa set. At pareho silang magaling in their respective roles. I first worked with Sam in an episode of 'Maalaala Mo Kaya' and in the teleserye 'Only You', but it's our first movie together. Si Zanjoe naman, nakasama ko na sa movie na 'One More Try' which was a Metro filmfest entry. Maganda ang naging bonding namin sa set kasi after work, lumalabas pa kami nang magkakasama para kumain."

Written by Charlene Esguerra and Patrick Valencia based on a story by Enrico Santos, "The Third Party" also stars Alma Moreno, Cherry Pie Picache, Al Tantay, Matet de Leon, Beauty Gonzales, Carla Martinez, Katrina Legaspi and Mariz Racal, opening in theaters nationwide on October 12.
With regard to her own love life, Angel says she remains loveless after her break up with Luis Manzano who's now linked to Jessy Mendiola. "Hindi ako naghahanap," she adds. "Kusa namang dumarating yan at the right time. So hindi kailangang pilitin. I just hope the next one who comes along will really be the Mr. Right for me."

Former Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago passed away today, September 29.
 

She was 71 years old.


Santiago was unconscious and died in her sleep according to husband Narciso 'Jun' Santiago.








Santiago's demise came just weeks after she was brought to the hospital after suffering from stage 4 lung cancer complications.

Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago has died this morning after years of cancer battle. She was 71 (June 15, 1945 - September 29, 2016).


That was Sen. Miriam's FB post last July 1st, informing everyone of her first day in private life following many years of serving for our country.

Almost 3 months later, "The Iron Lady of Asia" has died and now starting her Day 1 with our Creator.

The heartbreaking news was announced in her official page, stating that she died peacefully at 8:52AM today and that details of her interment will be announced later.
"Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago died peacefully today at 8:52am. Details of the interment will be announced later. We ask for prayers as her family goes through this difficult time."

In social media, there's now an outpouring of grief over Senator Miriam's death as the whole country, celebrities and government officials mourn the loss of the best President we never had.

Rio Olympics Silver Medalist Hidilyn Diaz Shares Her Life Story


Weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz brought honor to the Philippines and inspired her countrymen when she bagged a silver medal win in the Rio Olympics. But her road to victory and recognition had not been easy.

Find out how she braved through her struggles as she shares her moving life story, with actress Jane Oineza portraying her, in "MMK" this Saturday (September 24).

Hidilyn grew up in a poor family in Zamboanga City. Despite having to endure her days with a half-empty stomach, all she ever wanted was to her parents' and siblings' attention and love to get through her family's struggles. Growing up, however, Hidilyn sensed that her parents played favorites among them. For example, she would always be asked to fetch water, even though she had an older sibling who should be doing it.

When she discovered weightlifting through her cousins in 2002, she invited herself to their training sessions and became addicted to the sport. She also had a rough start in the sport because she would use tree branches during practice instead of proper equipment.

It was not long until Hidilyn competed locally and internationally. The sport did not only give her recognition but also significantly helped her financially, helping her finish her studies. But in spite of being acknowledged for her outstanding skill in weightlifting, she could not help but feel unhappy and underwhelmed because her family seemed to be indifferent to her still.

In 2014, life became more difficult for her, as she experienced a series of misfortunes in her chosen sport, as well as her love life.

How did Hidilyn get through her life's biggest challenges to win in the Olympics? Will Hidilyn ever get the affection and attention of her family she has been craving her whole life?

Piolo Pascual and Luis Manzano Scandal Video - The Truth Behind the Video That Made Papa P. Blames Himself


After watching the 26 minutes Facebook Live video of Luis Manzano, I could only tell that only those narrow-minded, malicious trolls can thought of the video as something that reflects the gender preferences of both Luis and Piolo Pascual or it could be interpreted as a post-s#x video between the two Kapamilya actors.

Although both Luis and Piolo said the issue didn't affect them at all, Papa P. said, "I learned my lesson. I guess I was too uncensored when I did it, because he did it sa dressing room namin,"
During a break from taping his new movie with Yen Santos under Regal Films, Piolo aired his reaction to the malicious interpretation of other people to the video which was taken in the dressing room of ASAP. The video has been making rounds online with the misleading caption of being a "gay scandal" but in reality Piolo was simply getting dressed for his production number while it was being streamed live on Luis's profile. "That's the first time I experienced that. Hindi ko alam na ganun pala ang Facebook Live so I learned my lesson. I guess I was too uncensored when I did it sa dressing room namin. Hindi ko alam na inu-upload pala yun. So ayun okay lang, charge it to experience. But pag mga ganun kasi you upload it and hindi mo na maalis sa YouTube yun. What people see there, you know that's the real thing. Yun ang uso eh. Just for the sake of your viewers di ba?" he admitted.

Piolo, who doesn't even have his own Facebook account, admitted he did not realize how people would react to the video and still has no idea what people have been saying about him in social media. "Wala akong Facebook eh. Dun ko nga lang nalaman yung Facebook Live eh. I have no idea kung ano yung mga comments. It was on Luis's account so kung meron mang mga nagsalita dun ng kung anu-ano, mas maganda na yung hindi ko alam di ba?" he said.

Sofia Gonzalez, Daughter Of Tacloban Mayor Kring Kring Gonzalez And 'Apo' Of Former Lead Actor Jose Mari Oozes With Star Quality And Much Promise

SOFIA GONZALEZ, the eldest daughter of Tacloban City Mayor Cristina Gonzalez and ex-Mayor Alfred Romualdez started recording her debut album for Viva Records yesterday. One of the songs she did is her own composition, "Love Hurts". How can she write a song about love when she herself admits she has never fallen in love in her entire life?

"Love is relatable naman even if you haven't been in love yet. But actually, I'm in love pala, with food!" she laughs. "I got the inspiration for the song from my friends who fall in love then break up with their boyfriends and come to me to open up about their heartbreaks. I'm their shoulder to cry on and judging from their stories, parang ang daming lalaking manloloko."

How long does it take for her to write a song? "'Love Hurts' natapos ko in 5 minutes. It was late at night, I was bored, so I wrote it. I have finished two other songs."



How come she's using her mom's family name and not her dad's? "Romualdez kasi is more identified with politics, while Gonzalez is better known in showbiz. My mom is known as an actress-singer then. She's using Gonzalez and also her dad, my lolo, Jose Mari Gonzalez, who's also an actor-singer."

So will she also be an actress-singer? "No. I don't know how to act. I tried in youtube but it's awful."
Who among today's young actors today would she like to have as a ka-love team? "No one. I don't really care about having a love team. I want to focus on my music muna. I don't have formal voice lessons but I was a member of our school choir for one year. I learned to play the ukelele, guitar and the piano without taking any formal lessons. I just learned from youtube."

Who are her favorite singers? "Locally, Yeng Constantino. She's really my idol as she also composes her own songs and plays the guitar. If ever I'd get to do a duet with her, siguro I'd cry. I also like the styles of KZ Tandingan and, abroad, Ariana Grande and Adele."

Sofia just turned 17 on August 22, she's in 10th grade, and talking to her, it's easy to see she has a good head on her shoulders. She professes to be conservative. "People are shocked when they learn that at 17, I haven't tried drinking anything alcoholic kasi sa bars daw in Manila, girls younger than me can drink. But I don't even have a night life. Whether here in Tacloban or in Manila, I prefer to just stay home at night watching TV, movies or youtube, doing social media and eating. I watched 'Stranger Things', all 8 episodes, in just one sitting. I love romcoms. I've seen '500 Days of Summer' several times."

Isn't she scared of being bashed on social media? "You know, since it's been announced that I signed up with Viva, biglang dumami ang friends ko. Even my sister Diana gained friends. She asked me: who are all these people following me now? So far, wala namang namba-bash, but if ever there'd be bashers in the future, I'd just ignore them. I won't even read them at all."

She had a very traumatic experience at the height of Typhoon Yolanda. "We were staying home when the rains started and we moved to our other house which was on higher ground. But even there, the water reached us. It went up so fast. It's good my mom brought life jackets and we had to wait for two hours until the water subsided. What happened afterwards is even more traumatic when we had to go out na, seeing all the dead people lying in the streets. I can't forget a little girl who's asking for our help and we didn't know what to do. We had to undergo counseling and therapy because of that experience."

So what insights did she gain about it? "You should learn to value your life more, don't take it for granted, because you can die any minute."

Does she know Gwen Zamora, who used to be her older brother Raymond's girlfriend? "Yes. We got along fine and I still follow her on Instagram. She just greeted me on my birthday."

Does she know Gwen is getting married to Jeremy Marquez next year? "Yeah? My brother has no girlfriend up to now. Actually, I felt sad when they broke up."

What's her guiding principle in life? "Always have God in your life. My mom always tells us that. You can be rich and famous but if you don't have God in your life, you'd never be happy."

MTV has announced the nominations for the 2016 MTV EMAs with Beyoncé and Justin Bieber leading the pack with five nominations each. Adele followed closely behind with four nods, together with Best Rock nominees Coldplay, Best New Act nominee Lukas Graham and Best Male candidate Shawn Mendes.

Rihanna and Drake earned three nods each, including a Best Song nomination for their hit collaboration “Work.” Adele’s record-shattering hit “Hello,” Justin Bieber’s electronic pop track “Sorry,” Lukas Graham’s soul-pop ballad “7 Years” and the Seeb remix of Mike Posner’s dance smash “I Took A Pill In Ibiza” also earned nominations for Best Song.

The 2016 MTV EMAs will broadcast LIVE around the globe from the Ahoy Rotterdam in Rotterdam, Netherlands on MTV on Monday, 7 November at 3am (TH/WIB) and 4am (MY/PH/SG). It will repeat on the same day at 8pm (TH/WIB) and 9pm (MY/PH/SG).

To celebrate a year of international artistry in a digital era that inspires creative connection between artists and fans more than ever, MTV unveiled the Best Song nominees in a vocal cover medley by Spanish rising artist/Internet sensation Leroy Sanchez. The reveal of the video was broadcast across MTV’s digital platforms and a coalition of media partners.

Three of the most versatile actors plus one acclaimed director come together for an exciting light romance project.

Directed by Jason Paul Laxamana, The Third Party opens in cinemas nationwide on October 12, 2016.

(Music Video) The Great Unknown - Sarah Geronimo feat. Hale


Viva Records has released the official music video for what could be labeled as Sarah Geronimo's most endearing song yet - "The Great Unknown." His boyfriend Matteo Guidicelli even said he's very proud of his girlfriend for this song, "My favorite song and my favorite video. Proud of you," he said on Twitter.

TGU  is the second single from Sarah's most recent album of the same title. The track is Sarah' first collaboration with Hale's lead vocal Champ Lui Pio.
