Iya Villania returns to GMA; signs contract with Kapuso network

After a mass movement of kapuso artists moving to ABS-CBN, one kapamilya artist makes an opposite move.

Iya Villania, a former kapuso-turned-kapamilya is returning to GMA7. The TV Host signed a contract with GMA7's Entertainment Head Lilybeth Rasonable and GMA Network's Chairman and CEO Felipe Gozon on Wednesday afternoon, October 29

Iya Villania-Arellano will now be joining her husband Drew in the same network.

"I wouldn't say he's a huge part as to why I've decided to come back. But of course, he knew all about this. When we were negotiating and when I was coming to terms with coming back here, siya talaga yung kausap ko. For him being the reason why I transferred, no., Iya said if Drew had a big part of her decision to switch network.

“It's gonna be a huge change, but I guess change is the only permanent thing in this world. And it's always nice to make new friends. That's what I'm looking forward to.", she added.

Iya started her career as a regular in GMA's Walang Hanggan and a teen-oriented show Click in 2003. After a series of hosting jobs in GMA, Iya decided to move to ABS-CBN after a year where she became a MYX VJ and co-host of ASAP and Wowowee. Her last job as a kapamilya was an acting stint in Apoy Sa Dagat as Helena Redentor.
