SHOW DESCRIPTION: Someone to Watch Over Me is a Philippine romantic drama series to be broadcast by GMA Network starring Tom Rodriguez and Lovi Poe. It premiered on September 5, 2016 replacing Juan Happy Love Story on the network's primetime GMA Telebabad block and also worldwide on GMA Pinoy TV.

SHOW DESCRIPTION: Encantadia (2016 TV series) is a Filipino fantasy television series by GMA Network. It is dubbed as the modern requel (retelling-sequel) to the 2005 fantasy series with the same name. The show was first aired on July 18, 2016 in the Philippines and worldwide through GMA Pinoy TV.

The cast including those who will portray the sang'gres or keepers of the four gems were revealed on April 4, 2016. Kylie Padilla played the role of Amihan, Alena by Gabbi Garcia, Danaya by Sanya Lopez and Pirena by Glaiza de Castro.

It is based from the hit sineserye produced by the same network, Kung Aagawin Mo Ang Langit which stars Carla Abellana, Mike Tan and Michelle Madrigal.

Encantadia is a vast and magical continent in an "unnamed", enchanted realm. It comprises three kingdoms: Lireo, Sapiro and Hathoria. These three kingdoms, and the Lirean territory, Adamya, bear the four elemental gems that hold the continent in balance. Lireo, in the east, is the kingdom that cared for the gemstones of air and water, with its territory, Adamya. Sapiro, the northern kingdom, kept the gemstone of earth and had its lands blessed with precious metals and stones, and its soil fertile unlike any other land. Hathoria, the kingdom of the west, held the gemstone of fire and utilized it for the development of weapons and war machinery.

The three kingdoms were able to live in peace, but day came when the Hathors (inhabitants of Hathoria) gave in to their greed and started a war to claim the other gems, that they may gain power and rule over the whole continent. The Hathors first waged war with the Sapiro, in pursuit of the gemstone of earth. The Sapiryan king, King Armeo, before Sapiro's fall, was able to kill the Hathor king and claim the gemstone of fire. Sapiro, after the war, was left in ruins. While the death of the Hathor king, and the loss of the gemstone of fire, weakened the Hathor force and made them retreat. King Armeo gave the gemstone of fire and earth to his older cousin, Raquim, and willed that the gemstones be given to Ynang Reyna of Lireo for safekeeping. The four gems have not been separated since.

Years have passed and the story unfolds in Lireo, where Ynang Reyna, Minea, will choose her successor from her daughters Pirena, Amihan, Alena and Danaya. She and Imaw, an elder from Adamya, can feel imminent danger lurking, and as the gods call her to Devas, she has to leave the kingdom of Lireo in good and capable hands. She put her daughters to the test to see their capabilities and know who is best fit to be the next queen. Minea chooses and crowns Amihan, which to Pirena's dismay, led to her rebellion. The chain of events that transpired made way for the separation of the gemstones. Pirena, after having stolen the gemstone of fire sided with the Hathors and gave them back the power they've lost. Hathor now plans to rise up from hiding and bring Lireo to its demise, with the end in view of ruling over the whole of Encantadia.

Robin Padilla shares video of wife Mariel Padilla while in labor

Robin Padilla has shared a video chat between him and his wife Mariel while in labor. The actor posted the video 10 hours ago as of this writing.

He wrote in the caption,

"Magmula kanina ng aking ipinost ito 6 ng umaga hanggang sa oras na ito wala pa rin akong maisulat sa caption, marahil dahil sa puro katanungan ang aking nasa isip at nag uunahan sila ng aking kumakalabog na puso"

In the video, Robin asked if Mariel is already in labor which she replied with "Yeah"

During the chat Mariel said, "Isabella's head is already low. Today is November 13 here. Isabella is the one who decides, not anyone else. It's Isabella, not the doctor, not anyone, not me, not you, not anyone, it's Isabella. She said now. I woke up from the pain," Rodriguez said.

"I don't think I'm going to survive without a med, it's too painful," the actress added.

A few hours later, Robin posted another video which was taken last September 7. It's a child birth tutorial video where it teaches how to give birth to a child the normal way without anesthesia. They were also taught the importance of the husband's presence to his wife who's in labor.

Mariel is in the US while Robin is still in the Philippines who's still waiting for the US embassy to grant him US Visa.

As of this writing, the actor hasn't updated his Instagram account with the latest news of his wife's delivery.

Maris Racal's sister gets "gong-ed" on Tawag ng Tanghalan

Maris Racal's sister Kristine is the latest "gong casualty" on Tawag Ng Tanghalan Sa It's Showtime.

25-year-old Kristine Racal was today's 3rd contender representing Mindanao. She performed by 'Betcha By Golly, Wow' by The Stylistics.

But having a famous sister couldn't save her from being "gong-ed". She had to stop singing after Punong Hurado Rey Valera made the signal to beat the "gong".

According to Valera, Kristine had many flats in her performance.

Not all 5 judges actually wanted it to happen. Judge Nyoy Volante revealed that he was not in favor of Valera's decision 'coz he believes her mistakes weren't big enough to get that verdict. (I echo what he said.)

Kristine's sister Maris, who happens to be a regular talent of Showtime as one of the Girltrends, hasn't reacted yet on what happened earlier. But she tweeted good luck to Kristine hours before the latter competed on TNT.

Trolls Movie Review: A Sprightly Musical That Will Help Lift Up Your Spirits

WE HAD no plans of watching the animated movie, "Trolls", but all of our five grandchildren wanted to see it, so off we went to watch it with them and it turns out to be a pleasant surprise of a musical using old familiar songs like ""The Sound of Silence","I'm Coming Out", "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and "True Colors" combined with some new compositions. "Trolls" today mean internet meanies who bash everyone but they used to be known as cute long haired dolls from the recent past.

In the movie, the tiny Trolls are by nature happy and positive creatures. They just want to sing, dance, hug and always look at the bright side of things. In contrast, their much bigger enemies are the ogre-like Bergens, who are always feeling sad and miserable. For them, to be happy is to eat a yummy Troll in their holiday called Trollstice.


On this special day, the Bergen's Prince Gristle (Christopher Mintz Plasse) is supposed to eat his first Troll, Princess Poppy (Anna Kendrick). But Poppy is able to escape and because of this, the Bergen King (John Cleese), punishes their Chef (Christine Baranski). The Trolls find a new secret home in the wilderness.

After 20 years, the cheerful Poppy holds a big party complete with fireworks, much against the advice of the grumpy party pooper, Branch (Justin Timberlake), who believes the Bergens will eventually locate them, so he has built his own secret bunker where he can hide safely. Chef sees the Trolls' fireworks and is able to discover their hiding place. She scoops up a bunch of Trolls and takes them away back to the Bergens to be cooked and eaten later. It becomes Poppy's mission to rescue the captured Trolls along with some friends and later, Branch himself who joins and helps them grudgingly.

Directors Mike Mitchell and Walt Dohrn succeed in coming up with a charming animated film with vibrant characters and sprightly feet-tapping, musical numbers. It spouses a simplistic philosophy of 'Don't worry, be happy' and not getting you own happiness at the expense of others. You have to find happiness inside of yourself and not elsewhere, which is a great lesson for kid viewers to remember. They've also created a very colorful world with great animation work with great voice acting led by Justin and Anna Kendrick who's really better heard than seen.

The Trolls really look lovable with their magical combed up hair. Poppy's scrapbooks are a delight to watch, along with the songs of Lionel Richie, Cyndi Lauper, Simon & Garfunkel, Mama Cass, etc. Also cute is the Cinderella-like story of the lovesick scullery maid, Bridget (Zooey Deschanel, who manages to elicit genuine pathos in the role), who the Trolls help to undergo a transformation and make over so that Prince Gristle will fall in love with her with her cute disco skates, not glass slippers.

Our advice is for Americans in these dark and dour times who feel sad that Trump won in their elections to watch "Trolls" to help entertain them and lift up their spirits. Just as the message of Justin's song says: "Can't Stop the Feeling". Our grandchildren were really bouncing and laughing in their seats and we're glad we watched it with them. If you don't find it funny, you must be a Bergen yourself.

Let's Pray For The Healing Of Some Sick Showbiz People

LET'S SAY A prayer for the healing of showbiz denizens who are currently sick. First is Angelu de Leon who's stricken with Bells Palsy, an infection that paralyzes some facial muscles and makes them immovable. It's good her faith in God is so strong and Angelu is confident she'll recover quickly.

Then there's comedian Joey Paras, who stars in the forthcoming movie, "Working Beks", as a rehabilitated gay who wants to go straight. He's afflicted with a heart condition that makes him tire easily and makes his leg swollen, so he plans to retire for a while so he can fully recuperate. Despite his ailment, he continues to help promote "Working Beks" that is showing on November 23. He plays a gay man who tries his best to reform and even intends to marry a woman, played by Cai Cortez.

Let's also pray for the healing of Cornelia Lee aka Angge, Richard Pinlac and Tinna Maria Bonifacio who all had a stroke and are still indisposed.

Enchong Dee turned 28 last November 5 but his birthday was celebrated only last Sunday, November 13 on ASAP by staging a fiery performance with daredevil routines.

It stars Gaspar Ulliel as a terminally ill writer who goes back home after 12 years of being away to announce his impending death to his family in a reunion filled with doubts and tension. Also starring Oscar winner Marion Cotillard, Vincent Cassel, Nathalie Baye and Lea Seydoux.


'ELLE' - A French-German-Belgian psychological thriller directed by Paul Verhoeven starring Isabelle Huppert as a businesswoman who is raped in her own home by an unknown man. She then tracks down her rapist and stalks him back. It got much critical acclaim when shown at the last Cannes Filmfest and is France's entry in the coming Oscars.


"NERUDA" - Pablo Neruda is a famous Chilean poet-politician, but this is not a filmbio on him. Rahter, it is an inventive take showing the function rather than the life of a writer. It stars Gael Garcia Bernal who searches for Neruda (Luis Gnecco) after he goes into hiding in 1948.


"GOODNIGHT MOMMY" - If you love horror films, you'd enjoy this Austrian film about twin brothers, nine years old, who wait for their mom's return in their lonesome house in the countryside.
When she finally comes home, the mom's face is heavily bandaged as she has undergone cosmetic surgery. But things don't seem like they were before and the twins start to doubt whether this woman is actually their mother. What follows is a terrifying struggle with deadly consequences.
