Is Lovi Poe the next big GMA-7 star to switch alliance from Kapuso to Kapamilya?
Recent
reports claim that the award-winning actress is planning to transfer to
ABS-CBN next year. And according to Lovi, her contract with GMA-7 is
only effective until early 2013.
But the Kapuso star said she’s not yet thinking about her plans after her contract expires.
“I
haven’t discussed it with my manager. Hindi ko siya iniisip naman,” she
told Yahoo! OMG! Philippines and other members of the press during the
pocket interview for GMA-7’s upcoming afternoon drama “Yesterday’s
Bride.”

She
also said, “That’s my manager’s (decision) na. I still have my contract
here. When it comes to that naman, sa manager ko na.”
A new challenge
Perhaps
the reason she’s not yet considering her options is because of her new
project in her current home network. Lovi is set to star in the
afternoon soap opera “Yesterday’s Bride” with Rocco Nacino.
For
the 23-year-old actress, her latest role is a challenge as it will give
her a break from playing strong and feisty characters like the ones she
did in last year’s “Temptation Island” and the primetime soap “Legacy.”
“Surprisingly,
playing super goody two-shoes characters, parang mas challenging siya
for me because I got used to playing characters na independent, strong
women. This time, ibang-iba siya,” she said.

Lovi added: “(The role is) really hard for me kasi nga sanay ako na nagtatarayan. It’s something new for me.”
Changing
gears is important for Lovi as she doesn’t want to do the same role
over and over again. This is evident in her current projects. In the
next three months, she will appear in the movies “Shake, Rattle, and
Roll 14,” “Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles,” and “The Bride and the
Lover.” Her independent film “Thy Womb” (directed by Brillante Mendoza,
starring Nora Aunor) will also get a national release this November.
“Sa
indie kasi, mas pwede kang mag-experiment. And sa mainstream, syempre
may limitations pero sometimes it’s nice rin to do something na may
limits,” she described the merits of indie and mainstream films.
“Yesterday’s Bride” will premiere this October on GMA-7.

BB Gandanghari dreams of getting married
He’s already done it as Rustom Padilla. And now, he would want to do it again as BB Gandanghari.
Asked if he’d want to get married, BB revealed it’s one of his dreams.
“It’s not the dream, but it’s one of the dreams,” he said during the tree planting activity of the “Enchanted Garden” cast at the Roosevelt Park in Dinalupihan, Bataan on Monday, October 8.
The actor clarified, however, that he’s single but not looking for a partner.
“Siguro, hindi mo yata hinahanap pero hopefully darating pagdating ng panahon.”

BB added: “Hopefully sana madaan sa power of the mind.”
What would he prefer for a partner: a Filipino or a foreigner?
Not different
“Hindi na ako choosy. Basta kung sino ang dumating. Basta alam mong mamahalin ka ng tama, yung susuportahan ka, yung magkakasuportahan kayo, magkakaintindihan kayo,” he said. “It’s beyond race.”
BB also admitted he’d want to have a child.
“I don’t see myself any different from anyone. If anybody can raise a child, why can’t I? And alam ko ang responsibilidad, kaya hindi pa ako nag-aampon. Pero darating yung panahon na yun na I wanna raise my own.”

The “Enchanted Garden” star added he wants to experience having to raise a child who will grow up a good, independent person.
“Kasi masarap din yung pakiramdam, not for anything, but for that person to be independent one day and to be a good person, yung makapagpalaki ka ng maayos na bata.”
Androgynous actor
As an actor, BB wants to play male and female roles, like what he will do for a future episode of TV5’s “Enchanted Garden.”
“Kasi nga sa America, ang tina-try ko dun, androgynous model. I model male and female clothes. Dito, gusto kong ma-achieve, androgynous actor. Kaya looking forward ako now that I’m given the chance as BB to play a male character. And hopefully, I’ll do more,” he said.

His dream role, he added, is that of a transsexual in a movie, similar to what Felicity Huffman did in the 2005 film “Transamerica.”
“Gusto kong gumawa ng isang pelikula na totoo naman. Transsexual characters na I can really play. Tapos pag nilagay mo, ang pinapa-play, babae or lalaking nina-try maging babae,” BB explained.
“When you talk about transsexual experiences, very psychological ang approach d’yan,” he added.
Will BB stay in TV5 when “Enchanted Garden” ends?
“Ako naman andito lang para mag-trabaho,” he replied. “Go lang nang go. I always give my best.”
“Enchanted Garden” airs weeknights at 6:30 on TV5.
