Ricky Davao's Gay Role, Tita Josie, In 'My Korean Jagiya', Delights The Show's Viewers All The More Now That He Has Come Out & Becomes Very Flamboyant

RICKY DAVAO says he is enjoying playing his gay role in "My Korean Jagiya" to the hilt. "Kung dati, restrained pa yung character ko, ngayon, mas out na siya, mas flamboyant at nagmumuher na with matching blonde hair," he says. "But I make sure na hindi sumosobra yung kaharutan ko sa Tita Josie. Malanding matrona lang ang dating ko, pati sa wig, sa make up at sa outfits ko. Hindi man ako kasing-ganda ng nanay mo, o kasing-sexy mo, malay mo, baka ako ang ate mo, Day!"

Ricky and Janice de Belen as his sister Tita Aida are now referred to as the Titas of Manila. They have their own fans who watch "My Korean Jagiya" because they're entertained by the duo's comic antics, especially when they are hilariously competing over Raymart Santiago as Dodong.

When they visited GMA's Artistambayan, they were surprised when "My Korean Jagiya" lead stars Heart Evangelista and Alexander Lee also came to drop by and the reaction of the fans was very positive, with matching lots of "kilig". It's obvious that the four stars of the show are now very close to one another and treat each other as family.

Meantime, Heart continues to have sexy showdowns with her co-stars in the show. First is with Valeen Montenegro, and later with Korean actress Jinri Park, who are both her rivals over the attention of Alexander Lee. "I agreed to go sexy para ikagaganda ng show na ito that I really love so much. And I'm so pleased with the very positive comments that I am now getting kasi malaking pasabog talaga ang mga eksenang ito," says Heart.

SEASONED CHARACTER ACTOR Mon Confiado has just finished an international movie in the U.S. where he plays the lead role, "Stateside". "Ako lang yung Filipino at puro Americans na ang mga kasama ko," he says. "I play an illegal alien na naging TNT sa America at naging homeless. It's directed by a Fil-Am director, Marshall Chavez. It will have its U.S premiere on November 18, so I'm going. Tapos, it will be shown in international film festivals. My director told me that Warner Bros. is now interested to screen it for possible distribution."

Some actors are jobless but Mon is doing one movie after another. He is in the cast of "Those Long Haired Nights" where he plays Mang Roger, the pimp of transgender prosties in the red light district of Makati on Burgos St. "Maraming real transgenders cast in the movie at nakakuwentuhan ko sila. I learned about their struggles as rampadoras of Burgos St. at nagulat ako kasi it's a real big business pala. May mga lalaki talagang ang gusto, transgenders. From their stories, I created my own character as their bugaloo. The film is now about to be shown in various filmfests abroad."

He has also finished shooting two films for Direk Chito Rono. "First is 'Ghost Bride' for Star Cinema. Ako yung landlord ni Kim Chiu na pinagkakautangan ng pamilya niya. Gusto ko siyang maging asawa, pero ayaw niya and instead, she chose to marry a dead Chinese whose family, babayaran siya ng malaki, not know it will have terrifying consequences. Then I did 'Cignal Rock' shot at Biri Island in Samar, home province ni Direk Chito. Kasama ko rito si Christian Bables and it's about feuding families."

It's a big historical movie at nangangalahati pa lang kami sa shoot. 60 days shoot ito, pang-38th day pa lang namin. Then I'll start shooting a horror movie for CineFilipino, 'Poon', where I will play a priest, written and directed by a new filmmaker, Ronnie Benaid. On TV, I'm about to start taping the second season of 'Tukhang' for Cignal TV, where I play a senator."
