SHOW DESCRIPTION: State of the Nation with Jessica Soho is the flagship nightly news program of GMA News TV, first premiering on February 28, 2011. Cara Delevingne Is Now Suffering A Skin Disease? People Are Now Asking For Prayer!

What is Cara Delevingne suffering from?

According to various reports, the actress has been suffering from psoriasis, a skin condition that causes scaly rashes.

“People would put on gloves and not want to touch me because they thought it was, like, leprosy or something,” Delevingne told London’s The Times.

“I was, like, fight and flight for months. Just constantly on edge,” she said of the stresses of the industry.

“It is a mental thing as well because if you hate yourself and your body and the way you look, it just gets worse and worse.”

Delevingne has started her modeling career when she was just 10 years old. Now, she has been a star in movies like Paper Towns and Suicide Squad.

Miss Grand International 2016 winner is Ms. Indonesia, 1st Runner Up is Miss Philippines! #missgrandinternational

Miss Grand International 2016 has just crowned its winner in Las Vegas, USA. She is Miss Indonesia Ariska Putri Pertiwi.

It's Indonesia's first time ever to win Miss Grand International, winning over 75 other candidates. It was also the first time that an Asian woman has been crowned in the 4-year-old pageant.

Actually, the Top 3 finishers this 2016 were all from Asia. Behind Miss Indonesia were Miss Philippines Nicole Cordoves and Miss Thailand as the 1st and 2nd Runners Up respectively.

Puerto Rico came in 4th Place (3rd Runner Up), while host delegate Miss USA was the 4th Runner Up.

Sam YG Hosts A New Show, 'Vintage Trip', On GMA News TV That Aims To Educate Millennials About The Legacy Of Our Past

SAM YG is hosting a new show on GMA News TV that pays homage to the past, "Vintage Trip", that starts airing this Saturday at 11:30 AM. Sam's real name is Samir Gogna. YG means Young Guy. He started on radio in 2005 when he was still a teenage student at the Ateneo taking up Legal Management.

"Balak ko kasing maging lawyer," he says. "But then, nakuha na ako agad na DJ sa radio then I branched out sa TV when ABS-CBN got me as part of their Hero Channel on Studio 23. Then nag-guest ako sa 'Pinoy Henyo' ng 'Eat Bulaga' as Shivaker and it was such a hit that I became a co-host there."

His girlfriend is Joyce Pring, daughter of topnotch cop Joe Pring, whose life story was filmed twice starring Phillip Salvador. Is it true they're officially engaged? "No, pakulo lang yun ng co-host ko sa 'Boys Night Out' on Magic 89.9, si Tony Toni. Binati kami on air at sa social media, and people thought ikakasal na nga kami. It's true, we're on, pero di pa kami nagbabalak magpakasal."


People know Sam for his funny Bumbay alter ego, Shivaker, but what they don't know is that he dealt with a lot of bullying at the Ateneo from grade to high school because he's of Indian descent. "My family comes from Jaipur, India, but I was born and raised here. I'm now a naturalized Filipino citizen. Siempre, sa school, tinutukso kong mabaho dahil Indian ako. Ayaw makipaglaro sa akin. Masakit. Racial discrimination talaga. But in spite of that, I consider myself a Filipino and I love Filipino culture," adds Sam who is part owner of four Backyard restos.

He loves hosting "Vintage Trip" as it's a nostalgic trip down memory lane paying tribute to bygone eras. "Young millennials in today's fast-paced world have no idea about the past. This show will help educate them about our history, the legacy of the past. Our first episode will show vintage Volkswagen Beetles, the eldest one is from 1937, fully restored and in good running condition. The 2nd and 3rd episodes feature collectors of old Coca Cola bottles. The 4th episode will explore the old houses of Vigan and the 5th episode is all about Pangasinan. It's about time na ating bigyang buhay ang mga lumang bagay."

BATTLE OF THE SOAP HEAVYWEIGHTS IN AFRICA

There are two Africa-wide broadcast companies that distribute content in many countries in that continent. The two with the biggest footprints are My TV Africa & Startimes, both regular patrons of Pinoy teleserye. Teleserye has built a loyal following in the continent since the original Pangako Sa Yo took the continent by storm in the early part of the 2000's. Teleserye battled it out initially with the pioneering telenovela of the Latin Americans, with the emergence later on of other successful series-producing countries like India & Turkey but teleserye remained a big force in the continent.

Recently, Startimes asked the readers of its Facebook account, which among the leading content providers in Africa (Philippines, Turkey, India and the Latin American countries of Venezuela, Colombia & Mexico) is the most loved. You can gauge the prevailing sentiment frim the responses.

It's good that teleserye is raising the flag of  Asia in Africa. High ratings don't lie, even the most thick-faced propaganda machine can't make that up.
