SHOW DESCRIPTION: Encantadia (2016 TV series) is a Filipino fantasy television series by GMA Network. It is dubbed as the modern requel (retelling-sequel) to the 2005 fantasy series with the same name. The show was first aired on July 18, 2016 in the Philippines and worldwide through GMA Pinoy TV.

The cast including those who will portray the sang'gres or keepers of the four gems were revealed on April 4, 2016. Kylie Padilla played the role of Amihan, Alena by Gabbi Garcia, Danaya by Sanya Lopez and Pirena by Glaiza de Castro.

It is based from the hit sineserye produced by the same network, Kung Aagawin Mo Ang Langit which stars Carla Abellana, Mike Tan and Michelle Madrigal.

Encantadia is a vast and magical continent in an "unnamed", enchanted realm. It comprises three kingdoms: Lireo, Sapiro and Hathoria. These three kingdoms, and the Lirean territory, Adamya, bear the four elemental gems that hold the continent in balance. Lireo, in the east, is the kingdom that cared for the gemstones of air and water, with its territory, Adamya. Sapiro, the northern kingdom, kept the gemstone of earth and had its lands blessed with precious metals and stones, and its soil fertile unlike any other land. Hathoria, the kingdom of the west, held the gemstone of fire and utilized it for the development of weapons and war machinery.

The three kingdoms were able to live in peace, but day came when the Hathors (inhabitants of Hathoria) gave in to their greed and started a war to claim the other gems, that they may gain power and rule over the whole continent. The Hathors first waged war with the Sapiro, in pursuit of the gemstone of earth. The Sapiryan king, King Armeo, before Sapiro's fall, was able to kill the Hathor king and claim the gemstone of fire. Sapiro, after the war, was left in ruins. While the death of the Hathor king, and the loss of the gemstone of fire, weakened the Hathor force and made them retreat. King Armeo gave the gemstone of fire and earth to his older cousin, Raquim, and willed that the gemstones be given to Ynang Reyna of Lireo for safekeeping. The four gems have not been separated since.

Years have passed and the story unfolds in Lireo, where Ynang Reyna, Minea, will choose her successor from her daughters Pirena, Amihan, Alena and Danaya. She and Imaw, an elder from Adamya, can feel imminent danger lurking, and as the gods call her to Devas, she has to leave the kingdom of Lireo in good and capable hands. She put her daughters to the test to see their capabilities and know who is best fit to be the next queen. Minea chooses and crowns Amihan, which to Pirena's dismay, led to her rebellion. The chain of events that transpired made way for the separation of the gemstones. Pirena, after having stolen the gemstone of fire sided with the Hathors and gave them back the power they've lost. Hathor now plans to rise up from hiding and bring Lireo to its demise, with the end in view of ruling over the whole of Encantadia.

My Ex And Whys Movie Review: The Lovely And Talented Liza Soberano Does What She Can To Keep It All Real

'MY EX AND WHYS' is the third movie of the LizQuen love team. Liza Soberano is Cali, a call center agent who has a blog (somewhere along the way, the call center job is suddenly forgotten). Her blog is called The Bakit List and it is mainly her outlet for her anger with her ex-boyfriend, Enrique Gil as Gio, who she caught cheating her. To answer her posts, Gio puts up his own blog, The Dahil List, and their posts catch the attention of people online and make them famous.

At first, we feel we are Cali's allies. She hates men with a passion as her own dad also abandoned her mom (Ara Mina) for another woman. But we realize that Gio was actually just taken advantage of by a slutty woman while he was drunk. He keeps on saying sorry, but Cali's being an unforgiving man-hater becomes unjustifiably too intense. It gets to a point that she seems to become more of a psychotic, going to the extreme of concocting lies, even hiring strippers just to discredit Gio in the eyes of the public. By this time, she has already lost all of our sympathy, especially after Gio has proven several times that he has suffered enough, is truly repentant and she can trust him again.

Since this is a Cathy Molina movie, the lovers both have their own respective families to cheer them on. Aside from her mom, Cali has two maiden aunts (Cai Cortez and Arlene Muhlach) and twin brothers. Gio, in turn, has a "babaero" dad (Joey Marquez) and brothers (led by Joross Gamboa and Dominic Roque.)


They also have a mutual friend, a Korean (Ryan Bang, who some folks find funny), who invites them to his wedding in Korea, a valid excuse for them to shoot on location there and show some great autumn scenery on the big screen.

By this time, you get the feeling that all the incidents being portrayed on screen are so contrived, so manipulated to bring out the "kilig" factor and for us to root more for the young lovers. To begin with, has anyone been as famous as a love team as the characters here are portrayed because of social media?

The formulaic ending where the lovers are reunited in the middle of the street and with the crowd cheering them on (which has been so overused in local romcoms) would also have us believe that they've become so popular and their faces so familiar as bloggers that nearly everyone recognizes them.

No doubt there's still some chemistry between the leads, although Enrique has added a bit of unbecoming weight that, given a few more pounds, he'll start to look more like Liza's uncle than her lover. But their best movie for us remains to be their first, "Just the Way You Are" (directed by Ted Boborol), where the situations are more believable, not engineered or forced.

Through all the implausibility and her unbecoming wig, the lovely and talented Liza does what she can to keep it quite real, even if her behavior sometimes makes her such an obnoxious brat that you want to boink her on the head. But yes, she can really act so we can forgive her, but not the material. And we truly believe she can eventually go solo and doesn't need a ka-love team at all.

Angel Locsin and John Lloyd Cruz to have a special appearance in La Luna Sangre

Angel Locsin and John Lloyd Cruz will have a special guest appearance in the upcoming KathNiel soap "La Luna Sangre".

La Luna Sangre is ABS-CBN''s most anticipated series this year as it would feature Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla in their most challenging roles to date. The series will complete the Lobo trilogy where Locsin (Lyka) first starred in 2008 with Piolo Pascual (Noah) as her leading man.

In 2010, Imortal came as a sequel to Lobo with Locsin (Lia) playing the daughter of her character in the previous series. Cruz (Mateo) was her leading man who came from a clan of vampires.

According to sources, the series will start airing April this year.

Janine Gutierrez Ecstatic Over Success Of 'Legally Blind', She'll Be The Perfect Choice To Play The Lead In A Stage Musical On Her Mamita Pilita Corrales

JANINE GUTIERREZ is understandably happy over success of "Legally Blind", which is rating so well after the big afternoon hit, "Ika-6 na Utos". Viewers are raving over her persuasive portrayal of a rape victim who goes blind but continues to fight for her own place in the sun. The show also proves she can be a solo artist, unlike before when she formed a love team with her then real life BF, Elmo Magalona, in such soaps as "More than Words" and "Villa Quintana".

The episode where her character, Grace Evangelista, is raped and later beaten up and left for dead after falling off a cliff by Marc Abaya rated very high. "I was so scared when we shot that scene nang madaling araw sa isang bundok sa Tanay," she says. "It was so cold then, pero nakahubad pa si Marc. And he's really good kaya matatakot ka talaga sa kanya. If that scene worked, he should be credited and if you'd read the comments on social media, marami talaga silang nadala sa eksenang yun na parang totoong-totoo raw na nangyari."

Even her own mom, Lotlot de Leon (who's part of another soap as Alden Richard's mom in "Destined to Be Yours"), was so impressed with her acting. Lotlot is such a proud mother when she posted in her own social media account how much she admires her own daughter's performance in "Legally Blind".

We know that a big theater company is trying to make a stage musical out of her grandmother Pilita Corrales' own colorful life and career, but they cannot get it off the ground as it's said they cannot find the right girl to play the young Pilita. Well, they have to look no farther as Janine certainly fills the bill and will be perfect to play her own mamita since she also sings well.

Robi Domingo and Gretchen Ho's statement on the status of their relationship

In a joint statement sent to Tonight With Boy Abunda, Robi Domingo and Gretchen confirmed their breakup after weeks of being rumored.

According to them, they wanted to focus on their respective careers and emphasized there was no third party involved.

The full statement reads as:

"There is too much happening for the bth of us right now, we have ot focus on our careers. There is no appropriate time yet for a relationship tp grow.. But we're not closing our doors on each other in the future."

SHOW DESCRIPTION: On February 21, 2011, together with Unang Hirit and 24 Oras, the program adapted a new set, new graphics, new theme, and new OBB. The "Liga ng Katotohanan" tagline was also dropped in the newscast's titlecard and launched a new slogan "Ikaw at ang Balita" (You and the News). With the help of social media, Saksi launched a segment called "Saksi Ako" where viewers can make their own report there by using cellphone and camera recordings via GMA's Youscoop. The new theme is incorporated with the elements of the 2008–2011 theme music & 2004–2008 theme music and its 2004-2008 bed music. Months after the reformat, Saksi re-designed its graphic packages, and in July 2013, it launched its segment "Midnight Snack", a food-trip segment hosted by Mikael Daez every Mondays to Thursdays, After a one-week hiatus, On November 5, 2013, it returned under the new title "Midnight Express". As part of GMA News' shakeup, Vicky Morales bid farewell to the show after 15 years and was added as the third anchor of 24 Oras, Pia Arcangel, replaced Morales, during that time. The new Saksi launched in November 10, 2014 with new upbeat soundtracks, its newly flat graphic package, and its new title card starts to continue using the camera lens background.
