ABS-CBN, the Lone Media Company Awarded Philippines' Best by FinanceAsia

ABS-CBN Corporation, the country’s leading multimedia company, has been ranked the 3rd best mid-cap (middle capitalization) company in the Philippines in the latest survey of FinanceAsia, one of the most respected finance magazines in the region. It is the only media company in this year’s list.
The rankings are part of the magazine’s “Asia’s Best Companies 2015” poll of over 250 portfolio managers and buy-side analysts in the region, or those who identify investment opportunities for Asia’s leading mutual funds, pension funds, trusts, and hedge funds.
ABS-CBN is the only entertainment and multimedia company included in the list for the mid-cap (middle capitalization) category. Security Bank was ranked 3rd equal.
“This recognition is a strong vote of confidence for ABS-CBN and a good indicator that we are on the right track," said ABS-CBN president and CEO Charo Santos-Concio. “We are indeed honored to be in this prestigious list of FinanceAsia.”
This is FinanceAsia’s 15th year to conduct this survey to find out which publicly listed companies investors consider to be the best-managed in Asia, who the best senior executives are, and which companies excel in corporate governance, investor relations, and other key metrics.
Chief Operating Officer Carlo Katigbak stated that the company is encouraged by this recognition and will continue to strive for innovation and excellence.
"We will continue to work hard to ensure that our strategies are attuned to technological trends and developments, and that our content remains relevant and sensitive to the needs of our various audiences. This is part of nation-building, of shaping our culture, to be ‘in the service of the Filipino’,” he said.
In 2014, ABS-CBN won a Gold Stevie Award in the “Company of the Year -- Media and Entertainment Company” category at the 11th International Business Awards, while Concio won a Gold Stevie Award in the “Female Executive of the Year in Asia, Australia, or New Zealand” category at the prestigious Stevie Awards for Women in Business.
ABS-CBN also bagged a Grand Stevie Award and the Gold Stevie Award in the “Services Company of the Year” category, while Concio also received the Gold Stevie Award for the “Woman of the Year” category for all Asia-Pacific nations (except Australia and South Korea) at the 2014 Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards.

Luis Manzano became emotional when 20 of the people who are dear to his heart turned Lucky Stars in ABS-CBN hit daily game show “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal”.
For his birthday special episodes this week, the staff of hit game show “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal” surprised him when they were able to gather not just one but more than 20 special people in Luis’ life all in one stage.

SPORTS: Olympian Michael Martinez Wins Gold Medal At Triglav Trophy Figure Skating Competition
SLOVENIA - Olympic Filipino skater Michael Martinez won a gold medal in Triglav Trophy, an annual international figure skating competition held in Jesenice, Slovenia.
Michael Martinez won both in Free Skating and Short Program categories thus hailing him as the champion in the Senior Men's category where he defeated Keiji Tanaka and Ryuju Hino from Japan.

2NE!’s CL to appear in MDBP festival
On April 18, YG revealed that 2NE1’s CL will be participating in MDBP Festival, which is a big music event held every year in the US with approximately 10,000 audiences attending.
CL is honored to be in the lineup of this year’s MDBP alongside Skrillex, Diplo, T-Pain, and Major Lazer. This year, the festival will start from July 31st in Atlanta and then go to other 19 cities in North America.
CL is expected to perform in Brooklyn, New York on August 9th, Berkley, California on September 11th, and Los Angeles, California on the 19th.
Meanwhile, CL recently signed a management contract with producer Scooter Braun’s SB PROJECTS label for her official US debut.

Xian Lim reveals his relationship with Kim Chiu is a special one
Xian Lim and Kim Chiu may have not confirmed the real status of their relationship but their actions and feelings towards each other are mutual and fans could read it.
On his Instagram account, Xian wrote a message addressed to Kim who recently celebrated her 25th birthday on ASAP. In his post, the chinito actor looked back at the time he first met the chinita actress at the set to how their relationship blossomed into what he called a special relationship.

Ngayong linggo na magtatapos ang romantic drama series na Once Upon a Kiss na pinagbibidahan nila Miguel Tanfelix at Bianca Umali.
Nagsimula ang primetime series na Once Upon a Kiss noong Enero 5 at nakatakda itong magtapos ngayong Abril 24 sa makatuwid umabot ito ng tatlong buwan sa ere katumbas ng isang season.
Simula umere ang Once Upon a Kiss ay bigo nitong matalo ang katapat na programa na Forevermore na pinabibidahan naman nina Enrique Gil at Liza Soberano.
