What's Vina Morales' Reaction When Robin Padilla Tells Her That He's A Muslim Allowed To Have Four Wives

IT’S OBVIOUS that Robin Padilla is wooing Vina Morales anew. At the presscon of their Metro filmfest entry, “Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo”, his remarks about Vina may be called “palipad hangin”. As one writer said: “Baka nga naman makalusot uli kay Vina.” He even made it clear that he’s a Muslim and, as such, is entitled to have more than one wife. What can Vina say about this?
“Eversince naman talaga, hindi mahirap mahalin si Robin,” she says. “Alam natin lahat na napaka-lovable niya, di ba? Kaya lang, siempre, mahirap ang marami kang kahati sa pag-ibig. If you’re asking me now, I don’t want to be in a relationship na magulo. If Robin and his wife Mariel are both happy now, I am also happy for both of them.”

She says she and Robin didn’t have a good closure of their past relationship after she learned that Robin has already married Liesl and they already have kids. “Matagal na kaming hindi nagkikita. But while shooting ‘Bonifacio’, honestly, this time, habang nagba-bonding kami, humingi naman siya ng tawad. I was so happy that day. Nakakagaan ng damdamin. So, napatawad ko naman siya. And he’s really thankful that never naman akong nagsalita nang masama sa kanya even if, at that time, sobrang nasaktan ako. But really, talagang maganda ang aming pagsasamahan ngayon and I hope it will stay this way. And we’re so excited for the movie. Iyun ang pinakaimportante sa lahat, that the friendship is still there. Di ba, Bin?”To which Robin adds: “And the passion!” Vina laughs heartily. “Passion ka diyan! And the love. O, sige na nga, pagbigyan natin. Ha! Ha! Ha!”

If and when Vina decides to “make patol” anew to Robin, they can play with fire freely now since Robin’s wife Mariel is currently in the States to be with her U.S. based dad. Robin said he tried to go with her but his application for a U.S. visa was once again turned down by the embassy.
Robin says Vina is his personal choice as his leading lady. “Importante kasi ang chemistry at talaga namang malakas pa rin ang chemistry namin ni Vina. “Sabi nga ni Direk Eddie Garcia, pag hindi mo pinakialaman yan, pakikialaman ng iba yan. Pag pinakialaman ng iba yan, sising alipin ka. Kaya pinakialaman ko na.”

In “Bonifacio”, Robin plays the title role and Vina is his wife, Gregoria de Jesus or Oriang. To make the historical film more palatable for “masa” and younger viewers, it starts in the present with three students researching on Bonifacio: Daniel and RJ Padilla, plus Jasmine Curtis Smith. An old man, Eddie Garcia, acts as the narrator who tells them what really happened to Bonifacio. Also in the big cast are Jericho Rosales as Jose Rizal, Isko Moreno as Padre Burgos, Rommel Padilla as Padre Gomez, Dennis Marasigan as Padre Zamora, Jun Nayra as Emilio Aguinaldo, Junjun Quintana and Cholo Barretto as Bonifacio’s brothers Procopio and Ciriaco, Ping Medina as Ladislao Diwa, Joem Bascon as Emilio Jacinto, Isabel Oli as Nonay and Richard Quan as Plata.
According to Director Enzo Williams who studied filmmaking in L.A., they aim to tell the correct story about our iconic hero, especially the real events about his tragic death that they say is misrepresented in history and pop culture.

Pinoys Preferred Kind of TV Shows, TV Network Revealed

Have you ever wondered how many hours Filipinos spend watching television? Or how many households prefer free-to-air TV over cable channels? Kantar Media, one of the country’s leading television audience measurement providers, shares some facts to help us get to know the Filipino TV viewers better.

Watching television has always been one of Filipinos’ favorite pastimes. According to Kantar Media, the highest rating TV programs for the third quarter of 2014 were game shows (21.65%) and primetime soap operas (17.68%). These figures reflect what Filipinos watch but what else do we know about Filipino television viewing? Kantar Media present some facts to help us get to know the Filipino TV viewer better.

Time Talk
According to Kantar Media, Filipinos spend an average of three (3) hours per day or almost a fifth of their waking hours watching TV. This year, Filipinos watched an extra hour, recording up to four (4) hours a day in front of their TV sets compared to the previous year. Moreover, Kantar Media studies showed that most Filipinos watch TV programs during the primetime slot, from 7:00 PM until 11:00 PM.

Rural VS Urban
Although bulk of TV viewership can be attributed to urban areas, for the first nine (9) months of 2014, Filipinos in rural communities registered 38% of the total TV viewing in the country. Almost 35 million Filipinos in rural areas tuned into their televisions during this period, data from Kantar Media revealed.

Breaking Gender and Age Stereotypes

Most sports TV programs feature male athletes. Contrary to popular belief that men significantly dominate sports viewing, Kantar Media data clarifies that 46% of the audiences of sports channels are in fact women. Kantar Media recently released a study on Filipino viewership of FIBA, FIFA and UFC, three major global sporting events of 2014. According to its findings, Women comprised 46% of Filipinos who watched the FIBA Basketball World Cup, and 40.8% of those who watched the FIFA World Cup this year.

Similarly, while cartoons are traditionally characterized as children’s programs, 53% of their Filipino TV audience are aged 20 years old and above. This proves that indeed there is an inner child in everyone.

Affluent Class households and Free-to-Air TV

Of the 200,000 ABC1 Individuals watching television, 162,000 watch free-to-air TV. This figure translates to about 81% of upper and upper-middle class households who do not rely solely on channels offered by cable providers. These household watched local drama TV programs the most, with a collective rating of 8.1% (among the top 20 programs of the same genre).

Lights, Camera, Advertisers!
Even with the additional competition from digital media in the past few years, TV ad spending shows no sign of decline. Just in the third quarter of 2014, TV ad spend reached P78 billion, about P3 billion more than the previous quarter. Detergents and laundry products were the top advertisements, followed by corporate advertising and milk powder, respectively.

Despite the boom of the internet, tablets, and smart phones, Filipinos still turn to television for news and entertainment. “Television is still the most stable and influential medium in the country,” Gabriel Buluran, Kantar Media Philippines General Manager said. “With 80.5% penetration in households across  the country, the television isn’t going anywhere, anytime soon.”
