Look what Vhong Navarro did to Anne Curtis on Showtime today!

#ShowtimeBiyerYes Vhong Navarro's "gentleman" self showed up today on It's Showtime, while he and other hosts were playing during the show's newest fun segment called 'Cash-ya'.

It was the 3rd challenge, where the 10 members from Anne Curtis' team (composed of Anne, Karylle, Girltrends and Showtime dancers) had to lay all their heads on a pillow. The challenge put the girls in a compromising situation, most especially Anne, who was wearing a very short dress.

Vhong, who was part of the opposing team, quickly took off his jacket, rushed to Anne and covered her back to prevent any exposure.

Wow! What a gentleman! Nice one, Vhong! You're so sweet!

I just feel bad though for the other girls, especially those two with green shorts.

Anne perhaps was unaware of Vhong's sweet gesture, ar the latter was shown picking up the jacket on the floor after the girls finished and won the challenge.

TV5 Airs The Most Exciting Action-Adventure TV Series From Hollywood Like 'The Flash', 'Arrow', 'Agents Of Shield', 'Quantico'

AS OF NOW, TV5 has very few local shows. Their most prominent local programs currently are "Lakbai", a travel show hosted by Baste Duterte; "Brillante Mendoza Presents", a monthly movie with a different theme each month from the Cannes award-winning filmmaker; and "Wattpad Presents", a weekly romance based on Wattpad collection of stories. After they stopped making local soaps, TV5 focused their programming on Hollywood TV shows and they now have the most impressive line up of canned shows. Here are some of them, all action-packed thrillers:

"The Flash" - An action-fantasy about a superhero crimefighter who can move at superhuman speed. The lead character is Barry Allen (played by Grant Gustin), who saw his mother being murdered as a boy. During a thunderstorm, he is struck by lightning and goes into a coma. He wakes up later to discover he has gained superhuman speed and he uses his gifts to fight evildoers.

"Arrow" - Spoiled billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (played by Stephen Amell) goes missing at sea but returns home after many years of being stranded in a remote island where he underwent training to be a vigilante crimefighter using a bow and arrow.

"MARVEL'S Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" - SHIELD stands for Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and LOgistic Division, a fictional peacekeeping and spy agency in the world of superheroes set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe or MCU. Its agents must deal with unusual cases and enemies, including Hydra and the Inhumans. It's led by Clark Gregg as Director Phil Coulson. It also stars Ming Na Wen as Melinda May, ace pilot and weapons expert; Brett Dalton as Hive, a Hydra agent who infiltrates SHIELD; Chloe Bennet as Skye/Quake, an inhuman who is recruited as she can sense earthquakes; Iain de Caestecker as Leo Fitz, a specialist in weapons engineering; Elizabeth Henstridge as Jemma Simmons, a biochemist who specializes in human alien life forms; Nick Blood as Lance Hunter, a mercenary who joins SHIELD; Adrianne Palicki as Bobbi Morse, an agent of SHIELD who went undercover with Hydra and is Hunter's ex-wife; and Luke Mitchell as Lincoln Campbell, an inhuman with the power to manipulate electrical charges.

"Quantico" - A drama thriller starring Indian actress Priyanka Chopra (the first South Asian to topbill an American TV series) as Alex Parrish, a new FBI recruit who becomes the prime suspect in a terrorist attack on Grand Central Terminal. It shows her training with other recruits at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia and later, the investigation about the attack where she has to clear her name.

Thea Tolentino Plays Another Villain Role As Sanya Lopez' Evil Half Sister In 'Haplos' And Loving It

THEA TOLENTINO is the female winner in GMA-7's talent reality show, "Protege", but she's now more identified in playing contravida roles. "I don't mind," she says. "Sabi kasi, mas bagay raw talaga kong nang-aapi kaysa ako yung inaapi. I feel blessed nga na right after 'Destined to be Yours' na kontrabida ako kay Maine Mendoza, heto, aapihin ko naman ngayon si Sanya Lopez. In the new Afternoon Prime soap, 'Haplos', ako ang half sister niyang si Lucille, who practices black magic kasama ang ina ko played by Francine Prieto. Ang importante, tuloy-tuloy ang trabaho ko at hindi ako naze-zero. Kaysa naman nganga ka lang sa bahay, di ba? Happy rin akong suportahan si Sanya kasi friends na kami mula nang magkasama kami sa 'The Half Sisters'."

About her lovelife, Thea is very open in admitting that she's in a relationship with "Protege" batchmate Mikoy Morales. They've been together for four years now. "We never hid it naman. Lumalabas nga kami nang magkasama, okay lang."

Mikoy is currently playing the gay Roxy in "Pepito Manaloto" and he also does gay parts in 'Bubble Gang", in "D 'Originals" and in a gay movie, "Four Days", with Sebastian Castro who is out in the open. Isn't she worried that Mikoy might be too identified with gay roles?
"Okay lang yun. He's just playing a role naman. Pero siempre, hindi maiiwasan, may mga namba-bash sa kanya. Sabi ko, huwag niya na lang patulan. Hindi naman mawawala yung hecklers na natutuwa talaga kapag nakakapang-inis sila ng mga artista."

Lucky "girl" gets an awesome treat from Hashtags' Jimboy and Luke at Miss Ormoc 2017 pageant

Hashtags gave one lucky fan some love during last night Miss Ormoc 2017 pageant, where they serenaded the candidates and performed a dance number for the fans.

A girl looking pretty and sexy from the crowd was given an awesome treat by Hashtags members Jimboy Martin and Luke Conde when she got invited to the stage and danced sexy with them much to the delight of the crowd.

Jimboy and Luke dance with a lucky fan at Miss Ormoc 2017 pageant

And this is the big twist: the lucky fan turned out to be not a girl, but a girl-looking man. Perhaps unaware at first, Jimboy and Luke continued with the treat and made sure the fan had an experience of a lifetime.

Can We Still Be Friends Movie Review: Gerald Anderson & Arci Munoz Deserve A Better Movie

WE'RE NOT SURPRISED that the second screen outing of Gerald Anderson and Arci Munoz, "Can We Still Be Friends", is not as big a hit at the box office as their first one, "Always Be My Maybe". They played relatable, very endearing characters in their first film directed by Dan Villegas. In the second film helmed by Prime Cruz, they played off-putting losers we just simply cannot sympathize with. It cannot even be called a rom-com since it simply failed to make audiences laugh.

She says she's been hanging on to him for eight long years hoping he'd change for the better. Well, she's such a patient martyr, isn't she? He's always late in picking her up, he can't even help her in cleaning up the condo unit that they co-own and he puts back empty pitchers of drinking water to the fridge instead of refilling them.

These are very valid issues. And she lets this go on for eight long years? Doesn't she know you can only change a man when he's still in his diapers? He's a fucking asshole and she's a fucking doormat. And she's such a big bimbo as she later on regrets her own decisions and seeks reconciliation with him because she has realized how much she loves him despite his being a douchebag and it was really wrong to break up with him.

So how can you relate with these idiotic characters? When they break up, you don't even feel sorry for them. To pad the running time, Arci meets a boring doctor, Trevor (Brian Santos), on Tinder and dates him. Gerald also meets another flirty girl, Cindy (Ria Atayde), who even lives with him but it's not really clear if he's really into her or he's just coasting along.

Arci meets Ria with Gerald by accident in a supermarket and later sees Ria in Gerald's apartment when she drops in unannounced, but you can't even feel any tension between them. As for Gerald, he doesn't even really seem heartbroken or miserable at all about breaking up with her dumb and gullible live in partner. And you don't blame him.

You don't really feel thrilled or excited about him and Arci at all. At some point, you just lose your interest in what's going on and don't care anymore whatever would happen to them. When Arci pretends she choked on her food while eating, you wish she'd really die so the movie would end quickly. Can they still be friends? Who the hell cares? We ourselves wouldn't want to be friends with them as we're just so bored to death after watching their senseless shenanigans for a while.

We're surprised that the Star Cinema executive committee did not interfere in the completion of this movie when they would demand reshoots in most cases, like in "The Unmarried Wife" and the new John Lloyd-Sarah Geronimo movie. The script of "Can We Still" seriously needs a lot of rewriting for it to be entertaining like past Star Cinema romcoms.

It's just too bad for Gerald and Arci because they both register charmingly on screen and have pretty likeable chemistry. They certainly deserve a better material. Here, they're both eclipsed by their gay character friend who delivered a kilometric aria as his wedding vow to summarize what they probably think is the point of the whole movie: that we should all embrace our partner's imperfections.

The millennial treatment of scriptwriter Jen Chuaunsu and director Prime Cruz, who started with indie films, is seen in many elements, like the couple living together without the benefit of marriage, the dating app Tinder (but it's surprising that Arci doesn't know about Tinder at all when she works in an ad agency) and the same sex marriage between Markki Stroem and Gege Severo that will probably please the LGBT community. But alas, such contemporary flavors are not enough to make a good movie and they have yet a lot to learn in making witty, winning, truly crowd-pleasing mainstream romances.

Sarah Lahbati Worshipped And Praised To High Heavens By Director Katski Flores For Her Acting In 'Pagsanib Kay Leah De La Cruz' But Co-Star Shy Carlos Is Ignored

THE HORROR FLICK "Ang Pagsanib kay Leah de la Cruz" directed by Katski Flores opens in theaters today. Katski is one of our few competent female directors. We really enjoyed her debut flick, "Still Life", a finalist that involves time travel in the CineMalaya Filmfest which starred Glaiza de Castro in a sterling performance. Katski's new movie stars newcomer Shy Carlos in the title role. But in her social media account, she praises to high heavens not Shy but Sarah Lahbati who plays a policewoman in the movie.

Here's what she said about Sarah and her performance: "I knew very little about Sarah Lahbati when she was cast as Ruth Liwanag in 'Ang Pagsanib kay Leah Dela Cruz'. But I knew many other things: 1) that casting this role was something I didn't get to decide alone, because it is the lead; 2) it was crucial to get it exactly right, because for the movie to work well practically rests on her shoulders; 3) Ruth is one of the most complex characters I've had to direct, with many layers, and I need an actor who will help me peel that onion.

I knew I needed a Ruth who could communicate volumes without the aid of lines, who can make you see her dark and light and keep you guessing on which side she's leaning. I knew these things. And I knew that I did not know Sarah Lahbati. She was a celebrity, a fashion model, half-pinoy (do you speak Tagalog fluently?). And all I had were assumptions and preconceived notions.
That, she blew out of the water as soon as she started reading for the part. And she just kept on surprising me all the way up to the finish line.

I believe some roles are meant to be. Ruth was meant to be Sarah's. And I am beyond thrilled to have been a part of her journey as an actress. Thank you sa generosity at kahusayan. So proud of you Sar! Congratulations! Gawa tayo ulit!"

Sarah must be flattered to no end, what with her director raving so unabashedly about her beauty and her performance. And wonder how Shy Carlos feels about this?

Barbie Forteza Choosing Ken Chan Over Ivan, Jak & Addy In The Last Episode Of 'Meant To Be' Becomes Controversial

BARBIE FORTEZA chose Ken Chan as her Mr. Right in the final episode of "Meant to Be" last Friday night not knowing it will be a very controversial choice. Fans of the other guys quickly protested and voiced their complaints on social media. Even Barbie's own mother voiced her dissatisfaction as she seems to favor Jak Roberto more.

When Ken as Yuan asked Barbie as Billie in the last episode why she chose him, this is her reply: "Ikaw ang na-miss ko sa lahat nung malayo ako. Ikaw ang nagpapalakas ng loob ko. Kahit suplado ka, kahit antipatiko ka, ikaw ang nagpatawa at nagpangiti sa akin. Kaya ikaw ang gusto kong makasama. Kayo nila Luke and Leia (Ken's babies). Ikaw, Yuan Lee, at lahat ng problemang dadalhin mo sa buhay ko, tatanggapin ko."

But some quarters are not at all satisfied with her explanation and say they felt so disappointed. They wish Billie chose Ivan instead, or Jak, or Addy. The truth is that whoever it is that Barbie selected, it will still not please all the fans because each group has its own bet for her. So even if she chose Ivan Dorschner or Jak Roberto or Addy Raj, there will still be disgruntled fans as it is simply impossible to please everyone.

One incontrovertible fact remains, though, the acting of Barbie in the show's last episode's dramatic moments is simply superb, confirming that she's really one of our best young actresses today and GMA should give her a follow up show, pronto!

We asked those in the know as to why Barbie chose Ken and we're told it's simply because Ken got the most number of text votes. "Hindi totoong iba ang nakakuha ng most number of votes," says our informer. "Si Ken talaga. Also, even online, Ken has the most number of supporters."

The handlers of the show's lead stars all say that among the four guys, Ken has the most numerous fans of all. And this is evident whenever they do mall shows in various parts of the country.

One thing good about this is naka-develop ang GMA ngayon ng mga bagong leading men. Noon, laging sinasabing kulang sa leading men ang Kapuso network. O ayan ngayon, we have four new leading guys na dapat bigyan agad ng bagong projects."

Maymay Entrata is now a certified gold-selling artist after her self-titled debut album achieved "gold" status!

And it's even more remarkable that Maymay's album hit that mark in just one day after its grand launch last June 21 at SM North EDSA.

Today, June 25, the gold record award was officially handed to her by Star Music on ASAP, and she looked very surprised, and was very thankful for the achievement.

Fans grant Jameson Blake's "4-year-old" birthday wish

Jameson Blake, star of 'A Love To Last', recently had an extra special birthday celebration with his fans last Tuesday, June 20, in Quezon City.

It was actually a post-birthday bash organized by the fan club, Blakers Republic, to celebrate Jameson turning 20 last June 17.

Jameson Blake in awe of his D-Rose birthday cake (photo via Phil S. Magbanu)

The Hashtags member and Cinema One Originals 2016 Best Supporting Actor was surprised to see that his cake was a Derrick Rose-themed one, something he once wished 4 years ago.

A huge fan of NBA player Derrick Rose (formerly from the Chicago Bulls and now with the New York Knicks), Jameson tweeted back in 2013 (when he wasn't in showbiz yet) that he wanted a Derrick Rose cake for his 16th birthday.

And his wish came true 4 years later, made possible by his sweet fans from Blakers Republic.

Here's a short video of Jameson during the party (shared by Ann Marjorie Ventura):
After the party, Jameson rushed to Tagaytay taping of 'A Love To Last', the top-rating Bea Alonzo-Ian Veneracion soap where he is playing the role of Fort, in a love triangle with Julia Barretto and Ronnie Alonte.

In the movies, he is part of the indie movie 'Nabubulok (The Decaying'), an official entry to the 13th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival taking place this August. The movie also stars Gina Alajar, JC Santos and Billy Ray Gallion (Randy Nations in 'Lost' TV series). - Mykiru.ph

Transformers: The Last Knight Review - Spectacular Special Effects But Often Incoherent And Incomprehensible

'TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT' is the fifth installment in the successful Michael Bay franchise after the very first "Transformers", inspired by Hasbro toys in 2007, which was followed by "Revenge of the Fallen" in 2009, "Dark of the Moon" in 2011, and "Age of Extinction" in 2014. It's overblown, overlong and chaotic at 2 and ½ boring hours and though the special effects are truly spectacular and so good in assaulting one's senses, the hyperactive on screen goings on are often incoherent, incomprehensible and frankly, we just don't care.

The 5th movie starts with a prologue during the Dark Ages and attempts to make a revisionist history of King Arthur, who just had another bad reincarnation on screen in the recent big flop that was "King Arthur: The Legend of the Sword". It seems the Transformers first manifested themselves in the time of Camelot. Anthony Hopkins is the newest recruit in the cast and we really wonder what made him accept this movie. He utters a line in the movie that certainly applies to him aptly, he being a knight himself in real life: "Deep down inside, you begin to wonder: Has my life been wasted?"

We're sure he already earned oodles of money playing Odin of Asgard in the "Thor" movies. Here, he plays Sir Edmund, an English lord who is the keeper of, believe it or not, the secret history of Transformers through various centuries. Do you know, for instance, that Hitler was actually killed by a good robot? Do you think you can buy that? And all the other nonsense in this movie?

Good Autobots vs. bad Decepticon robots are waging a war against each other. Optimus Prime has disappeared, floating around in space, and is turned into an evil robot by Quintessa, the ruler of Cybertron who hates our planet with a passion. Hopefully, he will ne able to get through his identity crisis. Then there's a contest as to who will get hold of an all-powerful staff of life that has been hidden away for centuries. The staff can signal the end of life on Planet Earth and the eternal supremacy of Cybertron.

Mark Wahlberg returns as Cade, the American who's the leader of the resistance who gets hold of a magical talisman that will help him a big deal in the final confrontation at the Stonehenge. He finds a romantic interest this time in Laura Haddock (Lucrezia in "Da Vinci's Demons") as Vivian, the Oxford professor with a mysterious lineage that links her to the all powerful staff. Aside from her, there's also a teenage girl who survives the robot attacks on her city, Chicago, and becomes an ally of Wahlberg.

In the scenes set in 5th century Camelot, Stanley Tucci plays the Wizard Merlin, trying to provide some comic relief and failing miserably, along with John Turturro as Agent Simmons who is totally wasted in scenes showing him speaking desperately while in a pay phone in Cuba.

In other words, it's all one big mess and Michael Bay tries to compensate the epic failures of his movie with relentless action scenes of metal crashing over metal, but this can be amusing only for a while and you'll still prefer watching a good story with relatable characters that us viewers can connect with and which the movie sorely lacks. No wonder our grandson fell asleep while watching it. Hindi niya talaga kinaya.
