MOVIE: Watch The Official Trailer Of 'The Martian' Starring Matt Damon & Jessica Chastain

HOLLYWOOD - Matt Damon returns to the big screen through his upcoming science-fiction movie The Martian based from the novel of the same title. The film also stars Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Michael Peña, Jeff Daniels and directed by Ridley Scott under 20th Century Fox. The Martian is to be shown on November 25, 2015 in the US.

"Pangako Sa 'Yo" Faces MTRCB Suspension, ABS-CBN Airs Public Apology


The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) strikes anew!

On June 4, the government agency responsible for the classification and review of television programs, movies and home videos, summoned ABS-CBN executives particularly the business unit handling the toprating daily primetime soap "Pangako Sa 'Yo" for a mandatory conference in relation to the show's alleged use of foul/vulgar language not suited for minors.

During the scene, aired on May 29, Eduardo Buenavista (Ian Veneracion) shows protesting his scheduled wedding with Claudia (Angelica Panginiban) as he is in a relationship with Amor (Jodi Sta. Maria). His mom, Dona Benita (Pilar Pilapil) told her son: “Kung pampalipas-libog lang iyan, that’s okay. Go ahead.”

In a letter signed by MTRCB Chairman Atty. Toto Villareal, the strong language insinuates that “it is okay to use a woman for the mere purpose of satisfying one’s fleshly desires even if he is already engaged to marry another woman, are obviously meant for a mature audience. The scene, if left unexplained, also cuts into the dignity of the woman and the integrity of an impending marriage - which is a protected institution.”

As agreed during the conference held on June 9 between Kapamilya executives TV Production Entertainment head Laurenti Dyogi, Business Unit Head Malou Santos and director Dado Lumibao and Rory Quintos and MTRCB officials, the program will submit on June 17 a resolution detailing concrete steps to avoid a repeat of the incident including three months period of close collaboration and monitoring, exercise of self-regulation; and consult with MTRCB, if needed.

The Kapamilya network through  head of ABS-CBN Intergrated Corporate Communications Kane Errol Choa, released a public apology for its lapse in the PG-rated airing of the scene in question, and assured its cooperation with the regulatory agency.
ABS-CBN apologizes for the strong language used in the May 29 episode of 'Pangako Sa 'Yo. We recognize our responsibility to our viewers and we will work closely with the MTRCB to prevent it from happening again."

"Pangako Sa 'Yo" starring Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, Ian Veneracion, Angelica Panganiban, and Jodi Sta. Maria airs weeknights after "Nathaniel on ABS-CBN.

ABS-CBN's Primetime Programs Garners Higher TV Ratings

ABS-CBN’s weekday and weekend primetime TV programs recorded higher national TV ratings last weekend (June 5-7), according to the latest data from Kantar Media.



ABS-CBN ruled weekend programing with “Maalaala Mo Kaya’s” #MMKLoveAndPower episode topping all shows last Saturday (June 6). It scored a whopping national TV rating of 39.2%, or 17 percentage points higher compared to GMA’s “Magpakailanman” (22.3%).


“Your Face Sounds Familiar” Grand Showdown ended with a national TV rating of 37.6% on Saturday (June 6) and 36.7% on Sunday (June 7). The pilot telecast of “The Voice Kids” Season 2, on the other hand, debuted strongly with 35.4% on Saturday and 36.2% on Sunday.


Inspirational drama series “Nathaniel” scored its highest national TV rating of 37.5% vs. GMA’s “Pari Ko’y” (15.8%).


The debut appearance of Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo in “Pangako Sa’yo,” likewise, marked a new milestone for the series as it reached a national TV rating of 37.2%, compared to its rival “Let the Love Begin” with only 13.8%. It also broke records as the first TV show in the country to generate more than 1.5 million tweets in the microblogging site Twitter.

"Pinoy Big Brother 737" is coming this June 20, 2015. It is the sixth regular season and twelfth overall of the hit Kapamilya reality show.

The unborn is the couple's third kid, after Yohan and Lucho, who is turning five this coming October.
