CRISTINE REYES is aware that many fans of Gerald Anderson don’t approve of her to be his leading lady in ABS-CBN's new soap “Bukas na Lang Kita Mamahalin”. What can she say about this?
“I look at it positively,” she says. “Ibig sabihin they care for Gerald. Pero sana, bigyan nila ng chance ang tambalan namin. Kasi I believe na-handle naman namin nang tama ang respective roles namin. And as a couple on screen, okay kami, may chemistry naman. I think, wala akong nakikitang mabigat sa tambalan naming dalawa. Gerald is very driven as an actor so everytime we have a scene together, nacha-challenge talaga ako. I play his girlfriend who stays loyal to him kahit nabilanggo na siya dahil sa bintang ni Diana Zubiri na ni-rape siya ni Gerald.”
Her former BF Rayver Cruz plays Gerald’s rival for her love in the show. Is it true she’s the one who requested him to be added to the cast? “Hindi, a. Friends naman kami and we’re so comfortable with each other, but I think si Gerald ang nag-request sa kanya para maging kontrabidang anak ni Dina Bonnevie.”
So how’s her lovelife now after being linked to a gym instructor who’s allegedly married? “Hindi naman totoo yun. Ba’t naman ako papatol sa may asawa.”
What about Derek Ramsay with whom she’s now shooting “My Trophy Wife” for Viva? “What about him?” They’re often seen going out together. “Yes, lumalabas kami. Niyaya pa niya ko nang tumulong siya doon sa mga binaha ng Typhoon Maring. Namili kami sa supermarket at pinamigay namin sa evacuation center.”
What does she like in him? “We’re both baliw and outgoing. Yung pagiging close niya sa family niya, yun ang pinakagusto ko sa kanya. Ilang beses ko nang na-meet ang parents niya and they’re okay.”
It’s said Derek has dumped her non-showbiz GF called Alexa in favor of her. “I cannot answer that. Siya na lang tanungin nyo.”
One writer later called up Derek and asked him if it’s true he and Cristine are now an item. He didn’t hide it and said “Yes, for one day pa lang. It’s totally unexpected. I asked her if it’s okay to share it with everyone and she said yes, so yes, kami na nga. We’ve been good friends since we did ‘No Other Woman’ two years ago at never nawala yung friendship namin.”
Derek said after he broke up with Angelica Panganiban that he doesn’t want to have another girlfriend from showbiz “kasi mas magulo”. Obviously, he has changed his mind about this that’s why he has now hooked up with Cristine. We hope this isn’t just a part of the promo for their movie, “My Trophy Wife”.

Lucky Newcomer Ruru Madrid Has Two New Movies And Two New Gma-7 Tv Shows
HE WAS JUST the first runnerup in “Protegee”, but Ruru Madrid has edged out winner Jeric Gonzales on the big screen. Jeric is the leading man of Thea Tolentino in “Pyra, Babaeng Apoy”, but he has yet to make a movie. Ruru, on the other hand, is now starring in his third movie.
He first played a supporting role as Marian Rivera’s younger brother in “My Lady Boss”. He then did “Above the Clouds” with Pepe Smith for young director Pepe Diokno. He now plays one of the leads in his manager Maryo de los Reyes’ entry in Sineng Pambansa, “Bamboo Flowers”.
Ruru, whose real name is Jose Exequiel Madrid, is turning 16 on December 4. His idol when it comes to acting is Phillip Salvador, who was his mentor in “Protegee”. His crushes are Julie Anne San Jose with whom he appears in “Sunday All Stars” and Barbie Forteza with whom he did the afternoon soap, “Paroa”.
He’s excited with his dramatic role in “Bamboo Flowers”. “Anak ako rito ni Irma Adlawan, a tourist guide in Bohol,” he says. “Mahirap ang buhay namin, tapos nagkasakit pa ang lolo ko, si Spanky Manikan. So gusto kong huminto sa pag-aaral at tulungan na lang ang mother kong maghanapbuhay. Lumayas ako’t nagpunta sa siyudad para magtrabaho, pero hindi naging maganda ang kinahinatnan ng pagtatrabaho ko roon. Maraming dramatic scenes dito’t napasabak ako sa matinding iyakan.”
On TV, he’s lucky to be in the cast of two new GMA shows. He’s with Lovi Poe in “Akin Pa rin ang Bukas” on primetime as the younger brother of Charee Pineda and he’s with Lauren Young in the Sunday afternoon drama, “Dormitoryo”.

Renz Fernandez Moves To Gma-7 & Figures In A Love Triangle With Aljur Abrenica-Kris Bernal Tandem
RENZ FERNANDEZ, the youngest son of Lorna Tolentino and the late Rudy Fernandez, started with ABS-CBN two years ago and was last seen with Lito Lapid in “Little Champ”. His career didn’t really take off as a Kapamilya so he has now moved to GMA-7. His first project as a Kapuso is “Prinsesa ng Buhay Ko”, the new soap that will replace “Binoy Henyo”. He’ll figure in a love triangle with Aljur Abrenica-Kris Bernal tandem, last seen in “Coffee Prince” a year ago.
Kris has been jobless for over a year now, except for “Sunday All Stars”. At least, Aljur was included in the cast of “Indio”. Renz has already taken a pre-taping workshop with them and he was warmly welcomed by Aljur and Kris who are both happy to have a new co-star.
Now that Renz is a Kapuso, he’s now in the same network as his erstwhile girlfriend, Maxene Magalona, with whom he broke up at the start of 2013. They both claim they decided to call it quits due to some irreconcilable differences. Maxene is now playing contravida to the hilt in “Mga Basang Sisiw”. Wonder if they would they be willing to work together in a GMA project in the near future.
Gretchen Barretto's 'The Diplomat Hotel' To Be Released In Theaters To Scare Viewers
ATTY. JOJI ALONSO’S “Instant Mommy” starring Eugene Domingo is still showing in theatres but she’s now preparing for her next release, “The Diplomat Hotel” starring Gretchen Barretto. La Greta bravely dared to shoot the horror flick in the haunted and abandoned Diplomat Hotel in Baguio City. Horror tales of troubled spirits roaming in the forsaken building have circulated for some time. But that didn’t scare Gretchen from accepting her first indie movie.
Greta plays a news reporter in the movie written and directed by Chris Ad. Castillo. She fails to deliver the goods in a hostage crisis assignment which leads her to suffer a nervous breakdown. She, thus, takes a leave of absence from work for one year. When she returns, she promises to make up for the error but the only assignment at hand was a documentary about the Diplomat Hotel’s last night of operation.
In the middle of the work at the abandoned hotel building, she learns about the terrifying tales the structure holds. The actress’s co-stars as well as the production team only have praises for Gretchen’s professionalism. This despite the fact that the staff and crew have themselves experienced goosebumps while working on the film. But Gretchen didn’t get scared because of these stories and went on to shoot in Baguio anyway. Her co-workers were hats off to Gretchen’s dedication during the filming as she proved to be a real trouper. Also in the film are award-winning actors, Joel Torre, Mon Confiado. Art Acuna, Nico Antonio, Channel La Torre.
Lovi Poe Bashed By Detractors Who Claim She's So 'Malakas' To Gma Management

SOME BASHERS are chiding Lovi Poe for being so “malakas” to GMA management. She’s now being seen in “Titser” and on September 9, her new primetime soap, “Akin Pa Rin ang Bukas”, will also start airing.
“I play totally different characters,” she says. “I’m a barrio lass na naging housemaid and, later, a teacher in ‘Titser’, which is aired only on Sundays at 7: 15 PM on GMA News TV Channel 11. In ‘Akin Pa Rin ang Bukas’, anak sa labas naman ako ni Gary Estrada na inaapi ng mother niyang lola ko, si Liza Lorena, tapos niloko pa ko ng lalaking pinagtiwalaan ko, si Rocco Nacino, kaya maghihiganti ako sa kanila. This is Monday to Friday naman replacing ‘Mundo Mo’y Akin’.”
Lovi is very grateful for the very positive feed back on “Titser”, where she co-stars with Mara Lopez as her best friend Rosa, Agot Isidro as their loving mentor Ma’am Sandra and Irma Adlawan as their corrupt school principal. The leading men in “Titser” are Mikael Daez as the son of the family that hires Lovi as a housemaid and sees the physical abuse she encounters there, Carl Guevarra as the most popular boy in school with a dark side, Gardo Versoza as Gil -- the Coop President who becomes Agot’s love interest and tells young people to enter agribusiness instead of looking for work abroad, and Rocco Nacino as Mayor Joseph who influences the life of Lovi as the “Titser”.
