Dingdong Dantes Signs Up Anew With Gma-7 For A Five-Year Contract As Primetime King
AFTER SPECULATIONS that he’s jumping ober da bakod to some other network, Dingdong Dantes proves that he’s still officially a Kapuso. He just renewed his contract with GMA-7 last Saturday at the Manila Polo Club in Forbes Park. His contract this time is for five years and he is now tagged by his long-time mother studio as "the Kapuso Primetime King", obviously eclipsing his erstwhile rival Richard Gutierrez.
“I am and will always be a Kapuso,” he declares. “I’m very happy here so there’s no need for me to transfer elsewhere.”
Dingdong’s first show under his new contract is "Genesis", with Lorna Tolentino, Rhian Ramos and Lauren Young as his co-stars. But he continues to have options to do movies with other companies, as he’s now doing a movie with Bea Alonzo for Star Cinema. Present at the contract signing were GMA President Atty. Felipe Gozon, his talent manager Perry Lansigan, and other Kapuso executives Jimmy Duavit, Lilybeth Rasonable and Redgie Magno.
Kris Bernal Defends Aljur Abrenica's Acting From His Bashers, Says He Has Become A Better Actor
KRIS BERNAL says she bears no grudges against GMA-7 even if it took eight months before she was given a new soap, “Prinsesa ng Masa”. “In fairness to them, dapat noon pa ipalalabas ito soon after my last show, ‘Coffee Prince’, ended,” she says. “But hindi naman nila ko pinabayaan while waiting for this to start kasi sige-sige ang guestings ko, I’m also in ‘Sunday All Stars’ and I’m doing many regional shows for them kaya I’v even travelled all over the country for free.”
In “Prinsesa ng Buhay Ko”, she plays an orphan named Princess. As a little girl, she was left by her remaining brother, Marco Alcaraz, in an orphanage where she meets Nick, who’ll grow up to be Aljur Abrenica. Princess and Nick become the best of friends but Nick’s dad (Emilio Garcia), eventually comes along to get him so they get separated. As a grownup, she saves Aljur’s half-brother, Renz Fernandez, from some bad guys who shot him. She and Aljur also meet again by chance and the half brothers become rivals for her attention.
How would she describe Aljur now? “This is our 11th project as a love team and he has definitely become better, more mature with his craft. I really don’t know why yung iba, walang bilib sa kanya gayong he’s such a good actor naman. Dito, napakaganda ng role niya as the least favoured son of Emilio Garcia kasi inaapi siya ng asawa nito, si Carmi Martin as Aljur’s cruel stepmother. He’s definitely very serious with his craft as an actor at nai-insecure nga ako sa dynamics ng acting niya. Feeling ko, nilalamon yata niya ako kapag magkaeksena kami kaya kailangang galingan ko lagi para lumevel up ako sa kanya.”
And how is it working with the son of Lorna Tolentino and the late Rudy Fernandez? “Very serious siya with his work. Nakikita kong paulit-ulit niyang binabasa ang script. Mabait din siya, a real gentleman. You can see he was raised well by his parents kaya he’s very polite, marespeto. Masaya kaming lahat sa set.”

‘Bluebird of Happiness’ The Musicale Comes Back with a Bang!
On its 23rd year, Trumpets, Asia’s first professional gospel theater group stages its big musical comeback, “The Bluebird of Happiness” which aims to teach its audience the valuable meaning of true happiness.
Trumpets is known for its blockbuster musicals for the whole family but other than providing entertainment value, Trumpets makes sure that every material they stage has an eternal message that audiences can take home with them.
To this day, people still have a never-ending desire for happiness and they go to great lengths to try and find it. Audie Gemora, president of Trumpets says, “Nowadays, people do not know what will make them happy anymore, we seek material things and do crazy things that sometimes make us forget what is essential.” He adds, “Sometimes happiness is already staring at us in the face but we sadly do not recognize it.” This is the reason why Trumpets sees the importance and timeliness of this show. “Everyone in this world is looking for happiness in one form or another and through this musical we hope that the audience sees themselves reflected in the lives of the central characters, Mytyl and Tyltyl.” says director Jaime del Mundo.
Based on the play by Maurice Maeterlinck, this brand new, proudly Filipino musical with book & lyrics by Jaime del Mundo and original music by Rony Fortich, “The Bluebird of Happiness” is highly anticipated to have everything audiences love in a family show: delightful story, colorful characters, beautiful music, fantastic production design, brilliant staging, hearty laughs, touching moments and most importantly, a valuable lesson.
It features an approximately 50-strong cast of notable actors including Mayen Bustamante-Cadd who plays Mama Tyl, the children’s mother; Lynn Sherman and Robie Zialcita as Tylette and Tylo, their pet cat and dog who are magically given human form to be their companions; Jennifer Villegas-dela Cruz as Berylune, the fairy who starts them on their quest for true happiness; Carla Guevarra-Laforteza as Light who provides illumination to their path; Joy Virata and Steve Cadd as Grandma Tyl and Grandpa Tyl, the children 217;s grandparents whom they meet in the Land of Memory; Joel Trinidad as Night, the dark villain who plots the children’s failure; and Raymund Concepcion as Father Time, whom they meet in the Land of the Future. Mytyl will be played by Alessa Zialcita and Chimmi Kohchet-Chua. Tyltyl will be played by Anton Posadas and Guido Gatmaytan.
Trumpets, with help from its friends from, Imatech, PLDT, Ayala Malls, McDonald’s, Silya, Sound Design, Kink Cakes, and Canadian Bed Linens, bring to life the story of Mytyl and Tyltyl who go on a magical adventure to look for the bluebird of happiness. After visiting different worlds and fantastical characters along the way, they find that the bluebird is in their home all along. Miss Uzbekistan Mystery and Lies in Miss World 2013 Competition Bared
Miss Uzbekistan Mystery and Lies in Miss World 2013 Competition Bared
Rakhima Ganieva, an 18-year-old Miss World 2013 contestant, might not reach the beauty competition's pageant night on September 28 in Indonesia.
How come?
Uzbekistan - the county she represents - has no idea who she is. No Miss Uzbekistan contest was even held in their country according to officials at the Uzbek Culture and Sports Ministry and the National Committee on Women.
Is she an impostor?
"Rakhima Ganieva never passed through any special selection process in Uzbekistan. If there had been a process to choose a young lady for this competition, I can assure you that a much more beautiful model would have been chosen. I’m sorry that Ganieva is choosing to build a career on lies." Zhavlon Komolov, a representative of the Tashkent-based Pro Models modelling agency said.
Is disqualification next in line?
Representatives from the London-based Miss World competition released no comment yet on the issue.
