Gerald feels high over Sarah's friendship
Unfortunately for them, the said closeness is not a sign nor confirmation that their idols are in a romantic relationship. It is just who they have become since they became friends.
“We're very comfortable with each other and mas close kami ngayon. We're just happy na ganun kami at sana natuwa rin ang mga fans kahit papaano. In a personal level masaya kami," explained Gerald.
As for their relationship, Gerald doesn't know what the future holds for him and Sarah but he admits the rising level of their friendship excites him.
"Like what I've said at the end of the day kung friendship lang makukuha ko sa kanya panalo pa rin ako," Gerald expressed.
He also attributed their "deeper friendship" to more frequent communication. Now that “Budoy” has ended and he has yet to start a new TV project, Gerald has more time for Sarah.
"Like what I've said, she is my inspiration. For me, I enjoy kung anong inspiration binibigay sa akin ni Sarah. At dahan dahan lang. Enjoy ko lang yung moment. Siguro kaming dalawa, we enjoy the moment kung anong meron kaming dalawa. We don't pressure each other," shared Gerald.
For real
Their continued closeness dispels rumors and intrigues that their "friendship" was a put-on to promote their past two movies. Sarah and Gerald have remained close even if the former now has a new movie with John Lloyd Cruz.
"Masaya po ako kung anong meron sa friendship namin. Totoo po yun na naging mas close po kami. Talagang iingatan ko po yung closeness na meron kami ngayon," said Sarah.
She added that she values her friendship with Gerald and has pledged that she will always be there for him. Their onscreen chemistry and popularity as a love team even brought their working relationship to a new level as product endorsers.
"Sobrang suwerte ko na nakasama ko siya sa ganitong project," Gerald said.

Lovi : Walang love life, I’m just enjoying
“Magkaibigan kami. We have the same circle of friends so, of course, hindi maiiwasan na magkasama kami whether events or anything but we’re not back together,” the Kapuso star told members of the press on the set of the GMA-7 primetime series “Legacy” last Friday, March 23.
The 23-year-old actress added that she is currently single. “Walang love life. I’m just enjoying. Enjoy mode.”
Is Singson trying to win her back?
“He knows that we should be friends first,” she replied.
Better off single
The 28th Star Awards for Movies Best Supporting Actress of the Year prefers being single to avoid unnecessary stress. After all, Lovi is currently busy doing “Legacy” and will do a number of movies for Regal this year. Among those she’s slated to work with for Regal are Jennylyn Mercado and Shaina Magdayao.
“Mas gusto ko (na single) kasi I don’t want to deal with any stress,” Lovi said. “Siguro nasa akin din yun. Siguro I consider stuff stress kahit hindi naman. But then, work muna. I think this is the kind of stress that I need, yung sa trabaho.”
I don’t want any distractions first because ang focus ko talaga, especially now, nasa ‘Legacy’.”
“Gusto ko wala muna akong stress, wala muna akong iniisip.”
Respecting ‘moments’
Lovi considers her character in “Legacy” as among her most exciting television roles to date.
“I’m so happy talaga kasi gusto ko yung role ni Natasha. Totoong tao lang siya. Mabait siya sa mga taong mahal niya pero sa mga taong hindi niya gusto, pinapakita niya,” she said.
And although she shares the limelight with fellow Kapuso actresses Alessandra de Rossi and Heart Evangelista,
Lovi said there is no competition between them and they respect each other’s acting “moments.”
“Kung kaninong moment yun, moment. There’s no such thing as stealing the moment. I think that’s very important when it comes to work. Hindi kailangan ng ganun,” Lovi shared.
“Legacy” airs weeknights after “Biritera” on GMA-7.

Aga on former manager: Ayos kami
This is what Aga Muhlach confirmed to the press when asked if he has a misunderstanding with former manager Ethel Ramos.
Aga and Ethel parted ways after almost 20 years of working together as talent and manager. Aga was also said to have decided to move to TV5 without first informing Ethel, who was then his manager.
In his acceptance speech at the 9th EnPress Golden Screen Awards, where he won Best Actor for “In the Name of Love,” Aga said, “Tita Ethel, peace. I love you.”
Hesitant
Aga hesitantly talked about his relationship with Ethel.
“Ayos kami. Yung mga nagsusulat ‘nun, huwag na kayo maging masaya. Iyon lang, iyon lang sasabihin ko,” Aga told the press in an interview after the awards show on Saturday, March 24, in Teatrino Greenhills.
Aga pleads, “Ang okay huwag niyo guluhin, ayos naman. Kung mayroon man kami, amin iyon, huwag kayo mag-alala.”
“Alam mo sayang na pag-usapan pa. Ayaw ko na pag-usapan, ayos na iyon, okay na iyon. Parang ang dami nating pwedeng pwede pagkasiyahan at pagkaligayahan,” he added.
He also said that his transfer to TV5 had nothing to do with the issue.
Meanwhile, Ethel remained mum on the issue and continued to give her support. She said that she and Aga remain friends.
Aga would rather talk about his work.
He expressed interest in working on another movie with Star Cinema. He also wants to do a movie with KC Concepcion.
“I was with Tita Malou (Santos) noong Star Awards. Sabi ko sana makagawa tayo ng pelikula. I can always do movies naman with Star Cinema. Sana lang may project na maganda, tingnan natin,” Aga said.

What Aljur 'desires'
“Gusto ko magkaroon ng award sa movie,” he told members of the press in an interview at his resort in Batangas City, where he celebrated his 22nd birthday last Saturday, March 24.
And his birthday wish? Aljur replied, “Noong mga nakaraan, wala akong birthday wish. Ngayon, meron, for my family—good health saka unity, yung pagsasama nila, sana ganyan forever.”
Dream roles and partners
In his five years in showbiz, Aljur has done an impressive array of roles: from iconic local characters (in 2011’s primetime show “Machete”) to intergalactic super heroes (in “Zaido: Pulis Pangkalawakan” with Dennis Trillo and Marky Cielo). Does he have any dream roles?
According to the “My Kontrabida Girl” star, he wants to play Lapu Lapu in the big screen. Aljur was inspired to play the historical hero when he played Lapu Lapu for the GMA-7 national anthem video.
“Doon ko nakita na bagay sa akin,” he explained.
And since he wants to win an acting award, would he be open to doing a gay role?
“Pwede, oo,” Aljur said, although adding it’s something he doesn’t really think about.
As for leading ladies he wants to work with, Aljur enumerated Marian Rivera, Lovi Poe, Heart Evangelista, and Kylie Padilla. But if has to choose just one among the four, Aljur said he’d choose Heart.
“Kasi si Heart, bata pa lang ako, crush ko na yun,” the Kapuso hunk said.
Kris or Rhian?
Aljur’s last project was GMA Films’ “My Kontrabida Gril” with Rhian Ramos, while a new primetime series is reportedly in the works. Will he be willing to be paired up again with Rhian for a television show?
“Oo naman, okay naman sa akin,” Aljur answered.
But Aljur said he’ll also be very happy to work again with Kris Bernal, who he has worked with in more than five GMA-7 shows, including “Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin,” “All My Life” and “The Last Prince.”
“Kahit ano mangyari sa akin, okay lang. Kung mababalik ako kay Kris, gusto ko, gusto ko talaga,” he said. “Anything, okay sa akin, possible naman. Depende sa management yan, kung ano gusto nila.”
Although they’re no longer on-screen partners, Aljur said his friendship with Kris has remained the same.
“Kami naman ni Kris, wala naman pinagbago. Kami kasi ni Kris, natutuwa ako kasi wala pa rin siyang sinisikreto sa akin. Kung meron man, nahuhuli ko pa rin.”

Nora still 'hurt' for losing her singing voice
The superstar underwent cosmetic surgery years ago that allegedly damaged her vocal cords. She returned to the country in February after a series of medical check-up and treatment for her vocal cords in the U.S.
Nora, who made a showbiz comeback last year and did a couple of acting projects, said seeing other people sing makes her cry, since she misses performing before an audience so much.
“Umiiyak pa rin ako kapag nakakapanood ng mga kumakanta. Sa totoo lang,” Nora said in an interview at the 9th Enpress Golden Screen Awards on Saturday, March 24, in Teatrino Greenhills.
Nora received the Lino Brocka Lifetime Achievement award.
‘It really hurts’
Although she regrets the damage to her vocal cords, Nora has learned to accept the fact that a lot of harm has been done.
“Masakit talaga. Nagsisi ako kung bakit ko ginawa (ang cosmetic surgery), pero andoon na iyon, eh. Wala na tayong magagawa.”
Nora admits always listening to her hit songs even if it hurts her. She is happy that Noranians continue to believe in her.
“Iyon na lang ang nagbibigay-buhay din sa akin talaga. Maliban sa pamilya at sa lahat ng mga nagmamahal sa akin,” she said.
Medical update
Nora gave an update on her medical treatment in the US.
“Na-check-up na ako ng doktor. Kaya kailangang bumalik ako para sa operation. Totoo iyon (na malaki ang magiging expenses). Kaya pinag-iipunan ko pa ‘yong ibang dapat gastusin.”
Nora is slated to do new projects for her home network, TV5, but she will first make a movie with multi-awarded director Brillante Mendoza this April.

Moron 5 and the Crying Lady – Official Movie Poster and Trailer
Starring in “Moron 5 and the Crying Lady” are Luis Manzano, Billy Crawford, Marvin Agustin, DJ Durano, Martin Escudero and John Lapus.
Directed by Wenn Deramas, the movie also stars German Moreno, Dennis Padilla, Arlene Muhlach, Deborah Sun, Jon Santos, and Carlos Agassi.
“Moron 5 and the Crying Lady” will be showing in theaters nationwide this April 7, 2012.
Here is the official plot of the movie as released by Viva Films: “Half-witted longtime friends Albert (Luis Manzano), Isaac (Billy Joe), Mozart “Mo” (DJ Durano), Michaelangelo “Mike” (Martin Escudero) and Aristotle“Aris” (Marvin Agustin) were used to living moronic yet pretty normal and hassle-free lives until successful careerwoman Becky Pamintuan (John Lapus) accused them of killing her father and ruin everything for them. The Moron 5 are more than sure of their innocence but for the life of them, they can't find any single satisfactory argument on how to prove it especially when their opponent would do everything to punish them for whim. Spending three miserable years in prison trying different failed comedic attempts to get out, they finally figured a way to escape. They stalked Becky and tried to understand why she's fighting so hard to have them imprisoned when it's clear as day that what happened three years ago was a nonsense frame-up. An opportunity came when Becky's driver got fired for having an affair with her maid and Albert volunteered to apply to replace him. He infiltrated the Pamintuan Residence and together with his four crazily daft friends, they've gathered information about the curious family yet to them, it isn't making any sense at all especially Becky's unexplained hatred to the five of them. Why is Becky fighting so hard to have them suffer? The Moron 5 will try their hardest to know and hopefully understand what's really going on although little did they know that by doing so, everything that they hold dear might be at risk.”Watch the trailer of “Moron 5 and the Crying Lady” below:

Monsters Bring Hell on Earth in “Wrath of the Titans”
As the title indicates, Warner Bros.' new, 3D fantasy adventure “Wrath of the Titans” called forth some mammoth and mythical adversaries to pit against the demigod Perseus (Sam Worthington).
These include the multi-headed Chimera, three one-eyed Cyclops and an army of double-bodied Makhai. Perseus' most formidable opponent is, of course, Kronos, the gargantuan, heretofore imprisoned Titan and father of Zeus (Liam Neeson), Hades (Ralph Fiennes) and Poseidon (Danny Huston), who is on the verge of breaking free and bringing hell down on the earth.
“There’s truly a smorgasbord of action to be had in this movie,” says visual effects supervisor and second unit director Nick Davis, who also worked on the first film.
The first foe Perseus meets is the Chimera, a fire-breathing beast with the heads of a lion and goat, dragon-like wings and a vicious snake’s head at the end of its tail.
“The main heads work in tandem, with one throwing out fuel and the other a haze of heat that ignites it,” director Jonathan Liebesman says of the brute that tears through Perseus’ village, a terrifying warning shot of things to come if he doesn’t take action.
“The Chimera descends on the village like a meteor and immediately starts ripping it apart,” Davis says. “There’s a huge pyrotechnical explosion, then the ground starts to crack, followed by a very elaborate, 400-foot trench blast that snakes its way through the town before blowing up a house and finally erupting out of a building. Then it really gets going.”
With the Chimera forcing his hand, Perseus is now committed to the battle to save Zeus and all of mankind from Kronos, and sets off to find a way into Tartarus, catching a ride with an old friend: the winged horse Pegasus, who takes him to Queen Andromeda’s (Rosamund Pike) encampment.
Once Perseus, Andromeda and Agenor (Toby Kebbell) are on their way, they sail off to find Hephaestus, whose remote island home is booby-trapped and heavily guarded by a group of 30-foot-tall Cyclops, one of Liebesman’s favorite creatures in the film. Prosthetics designer Conor O’Sullivan provided the director with about 15 different maquette heads, and worked closely with Davis in the full body design, before they determined the final blueprint for the Cyclops.
“The biggest challenge was to get them to appear as photorealistic as possible. Well, as much as a one-eyed, 30-foot monster can be photorealistic,” Davis smiles.
Heralding the emergence of Kronos from his ages-long confinement, legions of two-torso Makhai rage through the battlefield in a swarm of death and destruction. An invention of the film’s writers, they are warriors who had been sent to Tartarus and melded together by Kronos. “He created his own army by merging two tortured, warrior souls into one, and then sent them to wreak havoc on earth,” Liebesman relates.
“They are eight-foot-tall, two-headed, six-armed warriors who can run and roll and fight and jump with strength superior to any man,” Davis says. “But they are really just the prelude to the evil that’s about to come, the huge, final battle for Perseus, Zeus, Hades…everyone.”
The war comes to a climax as the over 1,500-foot Kronos bursts free of his bonds and begins to attack.
“Kronos created the world from chaos, and he wants to return the world to that state,” Liebesman notes. “What I love about him is that he reminds me of an atomic bomb when he hits the screen—this massive explosion with tons of volcanic debris flying off of him and setting fire to everything in his path.”
Davis adds, “Kronos has forever been this unstable, volatile force that the humans have unwittingly been sitting on, and as soon as Zeus’ strength fully empowers him, he erupts: rocks cascade off of him, the prison walls start to collapse and lava bubbles up from underneath.”
He goes on to describe the Titan king as having “human proportions, but he’s comprised of streams of solidified and molten lava that is constantly pouring off his body. He’s also covered in pyroclastic clouds that billow off of him, and as he moves, he hurls lava bombs toward the people below.”
Kronos was achieved entirely via CG, but that was no deterrent for Sam Worthington, who has become something of a master of fighting green screen beasts. For the actor, it’s all in a day’s work. “It’s simple: you have to believe in the world. When my nephew runs around pretending he is fighting monsters, it’s the same thing. As long as you commit and believe, then the audience will also commit and believe. We know it’s computer generated, because Kronos and Cyclops and Chimera don’t exist, but if I dive into the situation 100 percent, then hopefully the audience will follow and not be pulled out of the world.”
Opening across the Philippines on Thursday, March 29, “Wrath of the Titans” is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

The theme song to Columbia Pictures' highly anticipated action adventure comedy Men in Black 3, titled “Back In Time,” has been written and recorded by RCA Records/Polo Grounds Music/Mr. 305 recording artist Pitbull, it was announced recently by Lia Vollack, President of Worldwide Music for Sony Pictures. The song will be available as a digital single and released to radio on March 26. Men in Black 3 will be released in 3D in theaters worldwide, including the Philippines, on May 25, 2012.
“Back In Time” was written for the film by Armando C. Perez (Pitbull), Marc Kinchen, Adrian Trejo and Urales Vargas and features a sample of the 1950s hit “Love is Strange,” written by Sylvia Robinson, Ellas McDaniel and Mickey Baker, which went to #1 for the R&B duo Mickey & Sylvia.
“It's an incredible honor to be a part of such an amazing franchise as Men in Black and I have so much respect for Will Smith, especially with our similar musical backgrounds,” says Pitbull. “Wanting to keep the music fun yet modern, we used the slogan of the movie and flipped it back into the song that ‘in order to understand the future, you have to go back in time.’”
Barry Sonnenfeld, the director of the film, added, “My 19-year-old daughter turned me on to Pitbull. I'm thrilled that he wrote such a great song for our movie that totally gets it.”
In Men in Black 3, Agents J (Will Smith) and K (Tommy Lee Jones) are back... in time. J has seen some inexplicable things in his 15 years with the Men in Black, but nothing, not even aliens, perplexes him as much as his wry, reticent partner. But when K’s life and the fate of the planet are put at stake, Agent J will have to travel back in time to put things right. J discovers that there are secrets to the universe that K never told him - secrets that will reveal themselves as he teams up with the young Agent K (Josh Brolin) to save his partner, the agency, and the future of humankind.
Barry Sonnenfeld directs the film. The film’s screenplay is written by Etan Cohen, based on the Malibu Comic by Lowell Cunningham. Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald produce, and Steven Spielberg and G. Mac Brown are the executive producers.
“Men in Black 3” will be distributed in the Philippines by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International. Visit http://www.columbiapictures.com.ph for trailers, exclusive content and free downloads. Like us at www.Facebook.com/ColumbiaPicturesPH and join our fan contests.
Iligan City Expresses Gratitude to GMA Network
Iligan City Mayor Lawrence LL. Cruz recently released a three-page resolution to express the province’s deep gratitude to broadcast leader GMA Network and its socio-civic arm GMA Kapuso Foundation (GMAKF) for the latter’s quick and comprehensive response when typhoon Sendong caused catastrophic damage in Southern Philippines last December 2011.
The said tropical cyclone claimed the lives of more than a thousand people and left more than 15,000 houses in the South either completely or partially damaged.
In the resolution, the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Iligan acknowledged GMA Network’s immediate assistance, which significantly diminished hunger and outbreaks in the most affected areas.
The resolution read, “…among those who swiftly responded was GMA Network, whose management immediately dispatched their reporters to Iligan City and Cagayan de Oro.” The broadcast company, thru the use of its online and traditional broadcast platforms, generated massive donations and sympathy for the victims of typhoon Sendong from here and abroad.
The resolution likewise detailed GMAKF’s relief and long-term assistance to the province of Iligan. The Foundation, having served as a “conduit for donations received from all over the country and even abroad,” distributed urgent needs like food, water, and medicines to the most affected individuals thru strategically establishing command posts in key areas in Iligan.
And as part of its comprehensive and long-term contribution, GMAKF erects 200 housing units in Barangay Mandulog, Iligan City to serve as relocation site of those displaced by typhoon Sendong.
GMAKF Executive Vice President Mel Tiangco herself recently led the groundbreaking ceremony of the Kapuso Village in Iligan. The said village will also house a barangay center, a water system and a school for the children of affected families.
“The people of Iligan cherish such generosity and would certainly remember it, even with the passage of time,” the resolution added.
“Hangover Part 3” Movie in the Works
Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures are reteaming with Todd Phillips for “The Hangover Part III,” the third installment in the record-breaking comedy franchise, which is slated for release on May 24, 2013. The announcement was made today by Jeff Robinov, President Warner Bros. Pictures Group.
“The Hangover Part III” will star Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis, who will reprise the roles of Phil, Stu and Alan, collectively known to moviegoers as “the Wolfpack.” In the previous two films, the three friends’ attempts to plan a celebration have resulted in disaster for them, but led to a combined billion-dollar success at the worldwide box office.
In making the announcement, Robinov stated, “We are extremely pleased to have Todd Phillips and the guys back together again for another ‘Hangover,’ and we look forward to collaborating with them on another great movie.”
Phillips said, “I’m so excited to embark on another ‘Hangover’ film with Bradley, Ed and Zach. We’re going to surprise a lot of people with the final chapter we have planned. It will be a fitting conclusion to our three-part opera of mayhem, despair and bad decisions.”
Phillips is writing the screenplay with Craig Mazin, who also collaborated with him on the screenplay for “The Hangover Part II.” Phillips is again producing the film under his Green Hat Films banner, together with Dan Goldberg. Thomas Tull and Scott Budnick will serve as executive producers.
Production on the film is projected to begin in September 2012.
A presentation of Warner Bros. Pictures, in association with Legendary Pictures, “The Hangover Part III” will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
Drama and Romance Abound in 'Blue Bloods Season 2'
As executive producer Leonard Goldberg teased, look forward to an exciting second season premiere with a story that is certain to provoke debate’. Indeed, the premiere episode of Blue Bloods, coming to AXN this March 31, 2012, does not disappoint!
A drama about a multi-generational family of cops dedicated to New York City law enforcement, Blue Bloods marks multi-award winning Tom Selleck’s (Magnum P.I., Jesse Stone) return to primetime TV. The stellar cast of young and seasoned actors include Donnie Wahlberg (Righteous Kill, Band of Brothers), Broadway luminary Len Cairou (Damages, The West Wing) and Bridget Moynahan (Coyote Ugly, Sex and the City).
The Reagans certainly do not have it easy. Blue Bloods Season 2 returns with the mysterious murder of an acquaintance of the Reagans, who also happens to be a supporter and fund raiser for the new mayor elect Carter Poole (David Ramsey, Dexter). Coming from a liberal political background with a soft approach on crime, Poole looks set to clash with the New York City Chief of Police, Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) from the onset, by requesting that Frank cover the murder up as a random act of violence. Talk about getting off on the wrong foot!
Fans are also in for a rare treat in the premiere’s fundraiser - a special duet by Country superstar Carrie Underwood and musical legend Tony Bennett where they crooned to ‘It Had To Be You’ - a song which might just set the tone for the blossoming romances in the Reagan family. A charming art curator (Frederick Weller) sweeps Erin (Bridget Moynahan) off her feet but he just might not be who he appears to be. While the youngest Reagan, Jamie (Will Estes), goes undercover and gets deeply involved with an organized crime boss, Noble Sanfino and his family. Trouble brews when Jamie is attracted to Sanfino’s sister (Mara Davi) despite being told by Sanfino - "don't want what you can't have" - from the very start. Sound warning indeed.
Cupid stories aside, Season 2 will continue to retain the core of what makes Blue Bloods tick – the Reagans and their close-knit family ties culminating in the weekly family dinner. Retired police commissioner and Frank’s father, Henry (Len Cariou), will have a more integral role to play in the series. In a particularly heartwarming episode, Henry and Frank were nannies for the night while Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) and his wife Linda (Amy Carlson) went on a date night. In what might be one of the most hilarious scenes in the entire series, great-grandpa and grandpa handed down life advice to their grandsons. Their wise counsel consisted of what to order at a restaurant (you can order lobster at a steak house but never order steak at a lobster shack), what being out on their own feels like when they are older (you won't be poor exactly but you'll be paying for everything that used to come free so you'll feel strapped) and what to do when you can't pay your bills (if a month comes and you can make rent or the car payment but not both, make the car payment because you can always sleep in your car but you can't drive your house).
Blue Bloods’ balanced combination of nail-biting detective drama and family struggles offer rich material rarely handled so well by both a cast of actors and writers. It invites you to admire the men and women who struggle in and out of themselves to maintain order in New York City and draws you into the compelling relationships of the Reagan family. Don’t miss the return of Blue Bloods on AXN this March!
Xian doesn’t entertain cyberbullies
“Lahat po kasi ng binabasa ko yung mga magaganda, eh. Kapag nakikita ko yung mga comments na, 'Ay, parang hindi masyado pumatak yung luha niya doon,’ yung mga ganun. Eh di next time talagang papapatakin ko na yung luha ko nang todo-todo!,” Xian said at the press conference for his new endorsement, Unli-Facebook for Globe Telecoms, at Mario’s Restaurant in Quezon City on Friday, March 23.
Improving on his craft
Xian, who regularly replies to fans and shares photos in social networking sites, said he hasn’t received very personal online attacks yet, but he knows how to handle them. Xian sees negative comments about his acting as a way of improving on his craft.
“Hindi naman ako magwawala. Sa mga negative comments, I really don’t pay attention. For me, babasahin ko siya, it’s a good room for improvement kapag in-analyze mo nang konti, na ‘bakit nga kaya nasabi niya iyon? Pero for me, I don’t reply. Hindi ko sila ini-entertain,” he goes on.
He also tries his best to reply to as many fans as possible as his way of showing gratitude for their support.
“Ang laging isipin nila, there’s one basher and there are hundred thousands more who want to listen to positive things na you want to say. So one versus hundred thousands, pipiliin mo lang ‘yung gustong marinig ang positive galing sa iyo.”
Will he ever retort to baseless negative comments?
“No. Of course not, of course not. Kasi that's their opinion eh. May right naman silang magsabi ng ganoon. But I'm not going to entertain it. Feel free to say anything you want. It's your own opinion,” he replied.
Online etiquette
Xian thinks social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook are very helpful, especially when communicating and updating his supporters.
"Ako masasabi ko sobrang importante. It plays a huge factor in promoting shows, pagpo-promote ng mga mall shows. It's also a good way to communicate with the fans, kung may gusto ba silang sabihin sa iyo, kung meron ba silang gustong iparating sa iyo,” he said.
Xian shared that it is always best to practice online etiquette and be responsible for what you say online.
“Especially for actors, maraming followers, maraming nakaka-relate na tao, nakaka-inspire kayo ng maraming tao, nakakapagpasaya ng maraming tao. We really have to be careful kasi we might offend other people. Just take it. You just have to worry about the people who love you.”

Yeng hopes Charice won’t let criticism bring her down
“Lahat sa mundo temporary lang. Bashing or praising, it’s all temporary. But I really hope na hindi siya ma-discourage sa mga naririnig niya sa tao,” she said in an interview with Yahoo! Philippines OMG!
Herself once a target of criticism due to her edgy fashion sense, Yeng said what matters is that Charice knows who she is trying to please.
“Kasi lahat ng tao natututo sa bawat pinagdadaanan and ang nagmamatter lang talaga sa mundo is who you please,” she explained. “Are you pleasing other people, are you pleasing yourself or are you pleasing your Maker?”
Yeng added, “When you’re pleasing your Maker, walang magiging mali dun. Basta may peace ka sa ginagawa mo.”
The “Hawak Kamay” and "Jeepney Love Story" singer further said the opinion of other people should not dictate how one thinks of herself.
“Bukod sa sarili mo o sa family mo, si God yung pinaka-nakakakilala sayo,” she shared.
Of course, more than her looks, what's more important is how Charice has proven that Filipinos can penetrate the international entertainment scene, Yeng said.
Cyber haters
Yeng has her fair share of negative comments online—particularly on the popular social networking site Twitter. She admits it gets offensive at first. But more than hatred, Yeng said she feels sad for those who took the time to bash her online.
“Kasi nagkakaroon siya ng hatred sa heart niya na hindi niya alam na namumuo and napu-pull down siya noon. Samantalang ako, masaya ako,” she shared.
And what does Yeng do when she encounters an online hater?
“Ang ginagawa ko talaga—honestly, kahit sabi pa ng mga tao na corny ako—pinagpa-pray ko yung mga taong nagba-bash sa akin,” Yeng revealed.
Still, the recent MYX Music Awards Favorite Female Artist winner said she sometimes tries to see if the hurtful online comments have a dash of truth to them.
“Pag may nakita ako—kunwari, ‘Ang pangit ng performance mo,’ ‘Ang pangit ng make-up mo’—sometimes, makinig ka rin. Baka mamaya tama naman pala, you check your make-up,” she shared. “But I don’t take it personally. Inaavoid ko ng any kind of hate sa heart dahil makaka-affect yun sa buhay ko and sa music ko. “
In the end, Yeng said she chooses to use social media to inspire people and make her followers happy.
“Ayokong magamit yung social network para makipag-away,” she said.
What’s next
If Yeng seems very happy, it’s probably because of the blessings she been receiving early this year. Besides the MYX Music Awards win, Yeng’s fourth album, “Yeng Constantino: Yeng Versions Live,” just reached the Platinum status.
“I’m really blessed, blessed. Manominate ka lang sa MYX Music Awards, sobrang panalo ka na. And sobrang bugbog na yung salitang yun, but I really mean it,” Yeng said.
Less than a year after the release of the fourth album, the 23-year-old singer-songwriter is already working on her fifth album.
“Ibang tunog naman ito. The past albums, ginawang full band. This time, gusto ko na mas medyo bare lang. Piano, na may guitara, cello, violin, mas tahimik. Kilala na nila ako as pop rock chick so ang impression nila sa akin, maingay and all, Pero wala naming magbabago sa music ko. Siguro mas mellow lang,” she said of her work-in-progress. “Yun din kasi ang direction ng heart ko ngayon. Easy-breezy, happy, grateful. Lalabas yun sa mga susunod na songs.”
She added her new songs will probably be similar to the sound of her latest single, “Pag-ibig.” Yeng also hopes her next album will be made up of all originals.
“I really hope na the album would be all originals kasi the last album was puro revivals. Ngayon, gusto ko puro originals so we’re praying for that.”
