SHOW DESCRIPTION: News TV Quick Response Team (or simply News TV QRT) is the afternoon news broadcast of GMA News TV which airs in the Philippines. Produced by GMA News and Public Affairs, the news division of GMA Network. It is aired weekdays at 5:15-6:00 PM (PST).

News TV Quick Response Team premiered on August 1, 2011 at 4:00pm, anchored by Jiggy Manicad. It is different from any other newscasts in the Philippines because it is the first news program in the Philippines where the anchor is not on the studio, but on the scene of the news.

On January 16, 2012, it was moved to 6:00 pm due to the coverage of the Impeachment of Renato Corona.

On June 11, 2012, it was moved again at 5:30 pm.

On 2014, QRT transferred to its earliest timeslot 5:15pm running in 45 minutes.

Erich Gonzales renews contract with ABS-CBN sporting a shorter hairstyle

Erich Gonzales is still a kapamilya. The 22-year old actress has renewed her contract with ABS-CBN Network Thursday, February 9. Present in the contract signing are ABS-CBN bosses including President and CEO Carlos Katigbak and ABS-CBN COO Cory Vidanes.

Gonzales surprised fans online when she appeared with her new hairstyle - shorter than her previous cut. The actress and her boyfriend Daniel Matsunaga are rumored to have ended their almost two-year old relationship.

Daniel has denied in his Instagram account that no third party was involved and asked netizens to respect what's going between the two of them.

"We have nothing against each other and my love for her will always be there. So sa lahat ng mga haters, I just hope you guys respect her. Tama na please. Grabe kayo."

Meanwhile, Erich has yet to speak up about their relationship.

John Wick Chapter 2 Movie Review: Fans Of Hardcore Action Won't Be Disappointed By This Blood-Drenched Sequel

WE THOROUGHLY enjoyed the first "John Wick" movie three years ago so we quickly hied off to the theater on the opening day of "John Wick Chapter 2". And the blood-drenched sequel certainly doesn't disappoint. (But those who go only for films with Oscar pretensions should avoid this.) Fans of hard action will get what they want, with the extremely violent set pieces sure to give them multiple orgasms while watching it and its higher body count and more stunningly choreographed gunfights and bone crunching mano-a-mano fight scenes.

The first film was co-directed by Chad Stahelski and David Leitch. Chad now goes solo in the sequel since David is directing Ryan Reynolds in the sequel of "Deadpool". Keanu Reeves in the title role has never been more energized since he did "The Matrix" series. In the first film, it's established that Wick is a former hitman who shuns his violent life after he got married, but his wife dies from terminal illness, then the son a Russian kingpin steals his beloved vintage Mustang sportscar and kills the dog his wife left him as a souvenir, so he goes on rampage to get back at the son and his father.


The sequel starts where the first film has ended. Wick gets back his car from the brother (Peter Stormare) of the kingpin and single handedly decimates all his men. Yes, he also gets a new dog and it's safe this time. Then, a new mobster Santino D'Antonio (Riccardo Scamarcio), visits him unexpectedly and asks him to work for him again. He has made a blood oath to Santino and when he turns him down as he's already retired, Santino blows up his house into smithereens.

He then goes to Santino to ask what his mission is for him. The kingpin wants him to liquidate Santino's own sister, Gianna, so he can have complete control of their Italian empire of crime. Wick complies and goes to Rome to kill the sister, only to find out that after he has accomplished his mission, Santino has ordered his own men to kill him right away. Wick manages to get away but Santino puts a huge bounty of $7 million on his head and soon, the best bounty hunters of New York are all out to kill him.

The sequences where Wick defends himself from the onslaught of these mercenaries are pretty brutal, fierce and savage, so be properly warned. Keanu seems to be doing his own stunts and fight routines and clearly enjoying it. As maybe expected, Wick, who never misses his mark, gets to demolish, with video-game efficiency, all his opponents who just seem to intentionally line up to be blasted by him to kingdom come. He has become more unkillable than James Bond, Liam Neeson in the "Taken" series. Matt Damon as Jason Bourne and Tom Cruise both as Jack Reacher and Ethan Hunt, enduring ferocious stab and gunshot wounds like he's totally invulnerable.

The film runs for more than two hours but the action is relentless so you won't get bored. The mayhem-filled action set pieces are really bigger and better (take note of the shootout in Rome's catacombs and the climactic gunfight in a house of mirrors). Keanu gives a very intense and focused performance and he gets good support from Franco Nero, Ian Mcshane (as the manager of the Hotel Continental for criminals), Laurence Fishburne (his partner in crime in "The Matrix"), Common (as a rival with whom he has a showdown inside a subway train no less), and Ruby Rose as Santino's trusted mute henchwoman (this Australian actress is really quite busy these days as she's also in "XXX Return of Xander Cage" and "Resident Evil, Final Chapter" and the TV series "Orange is the New Black").

The final sequence is a tease, with Keanu running for life with his dog in Central Park while more bounty hunters are trying to track him down. It's clearly setting up what happens next and a sure indication that John Wick will be back in Chapter 3 for more of this fun cartoonish hitman franchise that doesn't really take itself too seriously.

Ai Ai De Las Alas & Ogie Alcasid Join Forces With Erik Santos & Solenn Heussaff For '#Hugotplaylist' Valentine Concert At KIA Theatre On February 14

AI AI DE LAS ALAS and Ogie Alcasid will have a Valentine concert right on the day of hearts itself, February 14. This is "#HugotPlayList", co-produced by Pops Fernandez, to be staged at the Kia Theatre. Their special guest is sultry singer-actress Solenn Heussaff who threatens to be very sexy on the night of their show, so Ai Ai quickly states that she'll also go sexy.

"Siempre, alangan namang magpatalbog ako," says the Comedy Concert Queen who's in two regular TV shows, "Hay Bahay" and "Sunday Pinasaya". "Sabi niya, magpapa-sexy siya, kaya kailangan, kahit Papal Awardee na ako, magpapa-sexy rin ako, hindi nga lang sobra. Pati yung green jokes na sobrang berde, babawasan ko na."

How will she celebrate Valentine's Day with her 24-year old boyfriend Gerald Sibayan? "Walang chance kasi nga may concert ako, so nagtatrabaho ako. Saka hindi na kailangan mag-celebrate kasi every month, lagi siyang may gift sa'kin, usually bulaklak basta tuwing monthsary namin. One thing na napatunayan ko, talagang lagi siyang nandiyan para sa akin."

Is it true they plan to officially tie the knot this year? "No, wala pa akong balak kasi gusto ko lang i-enjoy ang pagiging single ko. Last year lang lumabas officially yung divorce ko ng kasal ko noon sa Las Vegas, so enjoyin ko muna, di ba?"

Other special guests in the Valentine concert are Erik Santos and Ogie's eldest daughter, Leila, who now lives with him here in Manila. Leila intends to join showbiz and has quickly gained thousands of followers in social media. Some writers cracked that Ogie is now officially a stage father while his wife Regine Velasquez is the stage stepmother.

"Yes, I manage my daughter, as of now, but we will get a co-manager for her para tulungan ako," he says. "As of now, dahil nagsisimula pa lang siya sa showbiz, I try to help her make a good start.

Tinuturuan ko rin siya how to perform on a concert stage. Kumukuha rin siya ngayon ng Tagalog lessons kasi hindi siya marunong ng wika natin. But ang advice ko sa kanya is to just enjoy things, enjoy herself at huwag masyadong i-pressure ang sarili niya. At habang hindi pa siya busy, she's being a good Ate to her brother Nate. Hinahatid at sinusundo niya ito sa school."
