Aga Muhlach and Lea Salonga's Blockbuster Movie "Sana Maulit Muli" Returns in HD


"Sana Maulit Muli," the 1995 blockbuster movie of Aga Muhlach and Lea Salonga is returning in high definition (HD).

The Olivia Lamasan film that started the blockbuster tandem of Aga and Lea has been digitally restored and re-mastered by ABS-CBN Film Archives and will be screened on July 10, 7 p.m., at the University of the Philippines Film Institute in Quezon City.

Kim Chiu to play mistress role in new movie

Kim Chiu will be playing a mistress role in the upcoming movie "Etiquette for Mistresses."

The movie is based on the best-selling book by Julie Yap-Daza, "Etiquette for Mistresses and What Wives Can Learn From Them."

To be directed by Chito S. Roño, it will also star Kris Aquino, Iza Calzado, Cheena and Claudine Barretto who is making a showbiz comeback.

Kim revealed that she was hesitant at first in accepting the role. Her worries included her fans who may not like the mature role for her.

But Claudine gave the best advice to Kim during the story conference that happened last June 25, 2015.

"Sabi ko nga sa kanya, pag ninenerbyos si Kim the whole time of our storycon, basta sabi ko sa kanya na 25 years old na siya, aktres siya. Iniisip niya kanina na paano daw yung fans niya, dati daw ganito yung buhok niya, ngayon mababago dahil sa role, tapos iikli na yung mga suot niya, sabi ko sa kanya na mas gugustuhin ng fans mo na makita nilang mag-evolve ka bilang aktres," Claudine said, as quoted by pep.ph.

Meanwhile, Kris said it was Kim that she pictured in that role the first time she read the script.

"Nung nabasa ko yung script, nagte-taping kami ni Kim. Sinabi ko sa kanya na ‘Kim, ikaw ‘to.’ Sinabi niya sa akin, ‘Ate Kris, hindi ako sure.’ Sabi ko, ‘Kaya mo ‘to, ikaw ‘to.’ Kasi di ba 'pag binabasa mo yung script, mapipicture mo in your mind. Kitang kita mo talaga na si Kim yung bagay sa role at napakaklaro. Super! In a way, di ba, medyo written in us in mind or written in what we can deliver," the TV host-actress said.

But Kim is now ready to take on the role which she described as out of her comfort zone.

"Sige kakayanin ko ngayong medyo 25 na ako, I think pwede na. Saka sila yung kasama ko, choosy pa ba ako? And parang may advocacy naman yung story, tungkol sa women empowerment kaya tinanggap ko na rin. Saka hindi ko naman gagawin ‘to, kung hindi sya magiging magandang example sa mga manonood. Maganda rin kasi yung story, maganda yung kwento,” she said.

"Etiquette for Mistresses" is set to be shown before the year ends.

Renz Fernandez Says He Has A Big Crush On Alessandra De Rossi On The Set Of 'Yagit'



RENZ FERNANDEZ says he's been loveless since he and Maxene Magalona broke up two years ago. "Walang makagusto, e," he jokes when we interviewed him on our set visit to "Yagit". "Actually, dito sa 'Yagit', gusto ko si Alessandra de Rossi. Kaya lang mukhang mataray. Sabihin nyo naman sa kanya na type ko siya."

Renz plays the role of the kind-hearted cop Roman who helps the kiddie actors in "Yagit" while Alessandra plays the villainous Lulu whose face was disfigured in an accident. "Nakakatipid nga sa'kin ang production dito sa 'Yagit' dahil iisa lang lagi ang suot ko, yung police uniform ko. Hanggang ending, hindi na mababago. Pero matutuwa yung mga pulis mismo kasi mabait na pulis ako rito at makakahuli pa ako ng crime lord before the show ends."

We tell Renz that he and his brothers are all active with their own shows in GMA-7. His Kuya Mark Anthony Fernandez is one of Ai Ai de las Alas' leading men in "Let the Love Begin" while his Kuya Ralph Fernandez is in "Pari Koy". They are both fathers now. Isn't he envious that he doesn't have his own child yet?

Teen Oriented Program na "InstaDad" magtatapos na sa July 5.

Nag-anunsyo noong Hunyo 26 ang GMA Network na huling dalawang episodes na lang ng teen oriented program na InstaDad at marami ang nagulat sa balitang ito.

Ano nga ba ang dahilan kung bakit biglaan itong tinigbak sa ere? Mataas naman ang ratings nito base sa AGB Nielsen pero ligwak naman sa Kantar Media.


Nagsimula ang InstaDad na pinagbibidahan nila Gabby Eigenmann, Gabbi Garcia, Ash Ortega at Jazz Ocampo noong April 5 at magtatapos sa Hulyo 5 sa makatuwid umabot ito ng 14 episodes.

Mukhang hindi pa nga hinog ang mga starlets na bida sa programang InstaDad dahil marami ang nakakapansin na mga bano diumano ito umarte kumpara sa LUV U na patuloy na namamayagpag sa ere.

Wala pang programa ang ipapalit sa InstaDad pero baka ang ending isang lumang pelikula na naman ang pamalit dito na tila umay na umay na ang mga kapuso viewers sa tinagalog na lumang pelikula.

The friendship of teen housemates Kenzo Gutierrez and Bailey May in "Pinoy Big Brother 737" has been one of the trending topics on the internet among the fans of the reality show.

Labeled as bromance, netizens even made a monicker for the two, putting their names together to form KenLey.

"PBB" resident psychologist Dr. Randy Dellosa, who has been with the show since it started 10 years ago, said that the closeness of Kenzo and Bailey is just normal especially that both are the only boys in their respective families.

He also said that the two are having a young brother-older brother kind of relationship. They get lonely because they are away from their families and they want to get some affection from each other to support them emotionally, and that's one reason why they become touchy.

However, a recent video capture from the PBB 737 livestream is intensifying the KenLey bromance issue.

As revealed Saturday night, Bailey, along with Barbie Imperial, are the nominated housemates for this week.

Kenzo wants to have a souvenir from Bailey and during a conversation while the athlete from Ateneo was leaning on the Filipino-British's chests, he asked for a brief as a souvenir.

He immediately added that it was a joke, though, but Bailey agreed to even giving him the stained ones.

Bigger, Bolder, Hotter “Magic Mike XXL” to Arouse Moviegoers on July 15


The guys who wowed audiences around the world in the rousing hit “Magic Mike” are back. This time, they’re turning up the heat and taking it on the road in Warner Bros. Pictures' new all-male romp “Magic Mike XXL” – with a revealing new story, a fresh perspective on the future and a bigger, bolder set of some of the hottest and most exciting dance moves ever captured on the big screen.

“Magic Mike XXL” reunites original stars Channing Tatum, Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Kevin Nash, Adam Rodriguez and Gabriel Iglesias.

Picking up the story three years after Mike (Tatum) bowed out of the stripper life at the top of his game, “Magic Mike XXL” finds the remaining Kings of Tampa likewise ready to throw in the towel. But they want to do it their way: burning down the house in one last blow-out performance in Myrtle Beach, and with legendary headliner Magic Mike sharing the spotlight with them.

On the road to their final show, with whistle stops in Jacksonville and Savannah to renew old acquaintances and make new friends, Mike and the guys learn some new moves and shake off the past in surprising ways.

“Magic Mike XXL” director Gregory Jacobs echoes the sentiments of moviegoers around the world when he says, “I wanted to know what happened to these guys. I love these characters, and the possibility of following their story was something that really intrigued me, plus the aspect of Mike reclaiming his bond and his friendship with them, his realizing that he missed them and that they missed him, too. I felt it would be great to get the band back together and make a road trip movie.”

Though purely fictional, some of the elements and atmosphere of Mike’s world are inspired by Tatum’s own experiences from his early days as a dancer, and not all of it could be contained in one telling. “One of the things Channing originally brought up was his trip to a stripper convention back in the day,” says screenwriter Reid Carolin, who, along with Nick Wechsler, Jacobs and Tatum, also returns as a producer on the sequel. “We tried to work it into the first movie, but it’s such a big set piece that it was a story unto itself.”

As happy as the characters were to get the show on the road, so were the actors who portray them. “There was never a dull moment,” states Joe Manganiello, reprising his role as Big Dick Richie (BDR), alongside Matt Bomer as the picture-perfect Ken, Adam Rodriguez as Latin sensation Tito, Kevin Nash as wild-man Tarzan, and Gabriel Iglesias as their freewheeling MC, Tobias. “When we were cast in the first movie, none of us had a clue we would have this kind of chemistry, but it didn’t take long. There was some kind of providence in assembling this group. It just works. Greg has a great heart and I think that sensibility really lent itself to this script, which is essentially about bros bringing out the best in each other and having a good time.”

Consequently, while showcasing the tight group dynamic, “Magic Mike XXL” also plays up their individual personalities and talents to a greater extent. The cast also got the opportunity to demonstrate their comic timing, as the story takes them from a rowdy reunion in Tampa to some hilariously bumpy but rewarding detours through Savannah on their way to the big event.

Says Jacobs, “It’s Mike’s journey but it’s also a journey for all of them. We spent a lot of time fine-tuning and weaving each one into the story because it was important to all of us that the other characters were well developed and that everybody had his moment to break out and shine.”

Opening across the Philippines on July 15, “Magic Mike XXL” is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment company.
