Bb. Pilipinas 2015 deaf candidate Christine Balaguer disqualified!

Bb. Pilipinas 2015 candidate Christine Balaguer got disqualified? For what reason?

Supposedly candidate #5 Christine Balaguer could have been the first deaf-mute to win a Bb. Pilipinas crown, but that's now far from happening, when Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. disqualified her from the pageant.

Deaf candidate Christine Balaguer during the announcement of the 34 Binibining Pilipinas 2015 official candidates (credit to BPCI)

Disqualification of an aspirant already announced as official candidate isn't new in Binibining Pilipinas. It always happens (reminds us of Sandra Seifert, Bianca Paz, Theresa Fenger etc)

And after Kimberle Pechon, who had to withdraw, here's another Bb. Pilipinas 2015 candidate who has been removed from the pageant.

It's shocking why Christine Balaguer, who happens to be among the early favorites for the crown, had to be disqualified. She actually has been creating buzz for the pageant, after her life
story was featured on MMK, with Venus Raj portraying her.

Does Christine Balaguer also have racy photos (shot during her pre-pageant days) just like disqualified candidates in the past? And I just certainly hope that it's not because of discrimination, because of her physical disability, as what initial rumors say.

BPCI hasn't issued yet official statement on this one, but Christine has already been replaced as Candidate #5. Taking over is 25-year-old registered nurse Cannielle Faith Santos from Marilao, Bulacan.

In her Facebook Page, Christine has issued a statement on her disqualification, and as I understand her claim, she was forced to resign from Binibining Pilipinas 2015 for a reason she didn't disclose, but the way she emphasized herself being deaf, she kinda gave it away.

Christine Balaguer: "It's my big dream to be the first deaf candidate to win Bb. Pilipinas !

Being born deaf is not the end of the world. Its a challenge but also an opportunity. An opportunity to be able to set a positive example for others that despite being deaf they can still achieve their dreams
and contribute to society in a meaningful manner. And be successful !

Life as a deaf can be hard sometimes but all hardship can be overcome by working hard, never giving up and always believing in yourself.

Being deaf is not an excuse for giving up in life or making mistakes in life. I want to inspire other handicapped people and encourage them to take life in their own hands and always move forward no matter what.

IM VERY SORRY ABOUT THE BPCI MAKE ME RESIGN SO IM VERY DEPRESS EVEN I PRAY TO THE GOD!"

An online petition has already been started by Balaguer's fans to reinstate her as Bb. Pilipinas 2015 candidate.

National Day of Mourning in the Philippines on Jan. 30 after Maguindanao Clash

Last Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015, forty-four (44) brave policemen, all members of the Philippine National Police - Special Action Force (PNP SAF), were killed in an encounter with the Moro rebels at Mamasapano in Maguinadao.

The Philippine government said the Mamasapano Clash was a "misencounter", and the President himself, Noynoy Aquino, said in his televised speech early last night that the incident happened because of SAF's "lack of coordination" with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

PNoy has obviously answered the question "Who's to blame?" and not "Who ordered the operation?", as he pinpointed SAF's lack of coordination, rather than being man enough to admit he also had a mistake.

No matter who's at fault, those policemen absolutely deserve justice! But it seems that it's not PNoy's priority, when he did little mention of the word "justice" in his speech last night. Look at this word cloud by Inquirer of PNoy's speech:

Meanwhile, also on the same day, PNoy has declared Friday, January 30, as a national day of mourning in the Philippines:

Proclamation No. 953, s. 2015

MALACAÑAN PALACE MANILA
BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES

PROCLAMATION NO. 953 DECLARING 30 JANUARY 2015 AS A NATIONAL DAY OF MOURNING

WHEREAS, on 25 January 2015, at least forty-four officers and personnel of the Philippine National Police's Special Action Force were killed in the line of duty during an operation to serve a warrant of arrest against a suspected criminal in Maguindanao;

WHEREAS, these deaths are a great loss to our people and during this time of grief, a most solemn commemoration and respect is called for; and

WHEREAS, the nation is in solidarity with and joins in the grieving of the families and friends of our fallen brothers in the police force.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BENIGNO S. AQUINO III, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution and law, do hereby proclaim 30 January 2015 as a day of national mourning, in solidarity with the bereaved families of the slain.

The entire nation is requested to offer prayers for the eternal repose of the souls of the victims and for our people to reclaim our sense of humanity.

Further, I instruct all public institutions and military installations in the Philippines to lower the Philippines flag to half-mast on 30 January 2015.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

DONE, in the City of Manila this 28th day of January, in the Year of our Lord, Two Thousand and Fifteen.

Clara is ordered to halt activities in South Korea

In the midst of controversies, Clara is ordered by the Korean Entertainment Management Association (KEMA) on 28th to refrain from doing her entertainment activities in South Korea.

Clara is facing a complicated contract dispute against her agency, Polaris Entertainment, after she accused the CEO of sexual harassment. In contrary to the situation, KEMA has released their official statement regarding the controversial issue.

KEMA pointed out that despite the result of investigation hasn’t been released yet, Clara is already receiving backlash from the public rather than sentiment, which they deemed as a bigger issue. Moreover, the subject of sexual humiliation in her complaint is a very sensitive issue that could damage the wholesome and ethical entertainment industry of the country.

KEMA also stated that Clara doesn’t seem to be behaving properly and does not display self-discipline despite the public’s criticism towards her, who is the first-hand involved party.

Thus, to refrain from creating bigger issues that would generate greater public criticisms, Clara is ordered to halt her entertainment activities in South Korea until the result of the investigation is released.
