SHOW DESCRIPTION: Destined to be Yours is a Philippine romantic-comedy and drama television series that will be broadcast by GMA Network headlining the AlDub love team of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza. It is the love team's very first television series after appearing on the Kalyeserye segment of Eat Bulaga! that concluded on December 17, 2016. It is set to premiere on February 27, 2017 replacing Alyas Robin Hood on GMA Telebabad primetime block and worldwide through GMA Pinoy TV. The television show follows the story of star-crossed lovers Sinag (Mendoza) and Benjie (Richards).

Sinag Obispo (Maine Mendoza) is a DJ in a community radio station at her hometown of Pelangi. The paradise-like town of Pelangi was formerly a well-developed municipality due to its flourishing mining industry but many people were forced to leave the town after mining firms closed down. Sinag stayed behind because she loves her hometown and she wants to preserve the traditions and culture of the place through the community radio station whom she inherited from her grandfather.

Meanwhile, Benjie Rosales (Alden Richards) just graduated as an architect. His father died when he was young and his mother, Amanda (Lotlot de Leon), solely raised him. Unknown to Benjie, his grandfather, Vicente Rosales (Tommy Abuel), is a real-estate tycoon and her mother suddenly encourages him to contact the Rosales kin. Upon meeting the Rosales household, the family did not fully welcome Benjie except for his grandmother, Helen (Boots Anson-Roa), who convinced Benjie to work at their real estate company.

As Benjie accepts the job, he was assigned to a project at Pelangi where he is destined to meet Sinag. Their life will eventually change and intertwine as they fall in love with each other.

SHOW DESCRIPTION: Encantadia (2016 TV series) is a Filipino fantasy television series by GMA Network. It is dubbed as the modern requel (retelling-sequel) to the 2005 fantasy series with the same name. The show was first aired on July 18, 2016 in the Philippines and worldwide through GMA Pinoy TV.

The cast including those who will portray the sang'gres or keepers of the four gems were revealed on April 4, 2016. Kylie Padilla played the role of Amihan, Alena by Gabbi Garcia, Danaya by Sanya Lopez and Pirena by Glaiza de Castro.

It is based from the hit sineserye produced by the same network, Kung Aagawin Mo Ang Langit which stars Carla Abellana, Mike Tan and Michelle Madrigal.

Encantadia is a vast and magical continent in an "unnamed", enchanted realm. It comprises three kingdoms: Lireo, Sapiro and Hathoria. These three kingdoms, and the Lirean territory, Adamya, bear the four elemental gems that hold the continent in balance. Lireo, in the east, is the kingdom that cared for the gemstones of air and water, with its territory, Adamya. Sapiro, the northern kingdom, kept the gemstone of earth and had its lands blessed with precious metals and stones, and its soil fertile unlike any other land. Hathoria, the kingdom of the west, held the gemstone of fire and utilized it for the development of weapons and war machinery.

The three kingdoms were able to live in peace, but day came when the Hathors (inhabitants of Hathoria) gave in to their greed and started a war to claim the other gems, that they may gain power and rule over the whole continent. The Hathors first waged war with the Sapiro, in pursuit of the gemstone of earth. The Sapiryan king, King Armeo, before Sapiro's fall, was able to kill the Hathor king and claim the gemstone of fire. Sapiro, after the war, was left in ruins. While the death of the Hathor king, and the loss of the gemstone of fire, weakened the Hathor force and made them retreat. King Armeo gave the gemstone of fire and earth to his older cousin, Raquim, and willed that the gemstones be given to Ynang Reyna of Lireo for safekeeping. The four gems have not been separated since.

Years have passed and the story unfolds in Lireo, where Ynang Reyna, Minea, will choose her successor from her daughters Pirena, Amihan, Alena and Danaya. She and Imaw, an elder from Adamya, can feel imminent danger lurking, and as the gods call her to Devas, she has to leave the kingdom of Lireo in good and capable hands. She put her daughters to the test to see their capabilities and know who is best fit to be the next queen. Minea chooses and crowns Amihan, which to Pirena's dismay, led to her rebellion. The chain of events that transpired made way for the separation of the gemstones. Pirena, after having stolen the gemstone of fire sided with the Hathors and gave them back the power they've lost. Hathor now plans to rise up from hiding and bring Lireo to its demise, with the end in view of ruling over the whole of Encantadia.

SHOW DESCRIPTION: News TV Quick Response Team (or simply News TV QRT) is the afternoon news broadcast of GMA News TV which airs in the Philippines. Produced by GMA News and Public Affairs, the news division of GMA Network. It is aired weekdays at 5:15-6:00 PM (PST).

News TV Quick Response Team premiered on August 1, 2011 at 4:00pm, anchored by Jiggy Manicad. It is different from any other newscasts in the Philippines because it is the first news program in the Philippines where the anchor is not on the studio, but on the scene of the news.

On January 16, 2012, it was moved to 6:00 pm due to the coverage of the Impeachment of Renato Corona.

On June 11, 2012, it was moved again at 5:30 pm.

On 2014, QRT transferred to its earliest timeslot 5:15pm running in 45 minutes.

Holy Week 2017 on ABS-CBN: Jodi Sta. Maria's 'In My Father's Arms' airs on Good Friday

She played Amor Powers in the 2015 remake of Pangako Sa’yo and starred in the Box Office hit, The Achy Breaky Hearts in 2016. What more can this Emmy nominated actress give to us?

Amazingly, ABS-CBN star Jodi Sta. Maria shares her talent for a much greater cause as she takes the lead role of Nikki Villegas in CBN Asia Presents, In My Father’s Arms.

Wondering about Jodi’s experience with CBN Asia? Here it is as she responds in vernacular.

What made you say yes to this project with CBN?
This is something I have never done before. I consider this as ministry work. I’ve been in the business as an actor for 17 years and I believe that it is really important to share the message of this story to the audience. I actually feel honored and privileged to be a part of this Holy Week Special.

What was it like working with CBN Asia?
It’s different (laughs). This is the very first time that I worked with CBN Asia. I like how we begin our day with a prayer and whenever there are important scenes or heavy scenes, we always pray. We also end our day with a prayer. We all know that we are doing something that brings glory to God so it is really different in that sense, and I like how calm the set was (laughs).

Tell me about your character. Who is Nikki?
Nikki believes that there are mistakes in life that are really unforgivable. Something tragic happened to their family and she blames herself for it. Because of guilt, she ran away from home.

What similarities do you have with Nikki and how did you use it to connect to her character?
I used to think that there are things we do in life that are really unforgivable. There are mistakes that cannot be erased and you end up blaming yourself for it. That’s how Nikki and the old Jodi are similar.

What’s the difference or edge of your character as Nikki from all the other roles that you have portrayed before?
All the roles that I portrayed before are really different from each other but among all of them, it was only Nikki’s character who received the most important gift of all, the grace and love of God.

What are the lessons that you learned from the story itself?
Doing this, I realized how our Father in heaven really loves us. I was reminded of a quote from Corrie ten Boom that says, “There is no pit so deep that God’s love isn’t deeper still.” No matter how great we think our sins and mistakes are, God’s love and forgiveness is still greater. All we need to do is to come to Him, ask for forgiveness, and then put our faith on Him.

What realizations do you hope the viewers would get from this Holy Week Special?
Most of the time people are reluctant to come to God because they have a wrong picture of Him. They see Him as a tyrant, punishing you for every mistake. But then what they don’t realize is that He is a loving, gracious, and compassionate God. So after watching this special, it is really my prayer that people will realize how much God loves them. Like Nikki, if they committed a grave mistake in the past, God is always able to forgive them; and that by receiving Jesus in their lives, they’ll get the opportunity to experience real freedom.

In your opinion, how important is it for the people to see this kind of inspirational story?
I think it is important because it is not every day that a show would really tackle or talk about the love of God. You can usually watch stories about human love - like a mother’s love, a father’s love, this or that kind of love. But it is unusual to watch something about the unconditional, agape kind of love. So I hope that people will realize this as they watch In My Father’s Arms, that the story itself will move their hearts and also speak to whatever situation they are currently in.

In My Father’s Arms is an original story written by John Valdes Tan who also co-directed the film with Icko Gonzalez.

Earthquake in the Philippines: Batangas rocked by magnitude 5.5 earthquake

The Philippines, specifically those areas in Southern Luzon, was hit by a magnitude 5.5 earthquake earlier this evening.

According to PHIVOLCS, the epicenter of the magnitude 5.5 quake was at 7km northwest of Tingloy, Batangas.

The US Geological Survey on one hand measured the earthquake at magnitude 5.2, with epicenter at 5km West of Ilijan in Batangas City.

The quake was traced to have happened at 8:58PM today.

I am currently in Laguna, and I was able to feel it while in bed, ready to sleep.
