James Yap gets unlikely ally in ex-wife Kris

The relationship between ex-couple Kris Aquino and James Yap has improved a lot.

Unlike before, when Kris expressed how hurt she was over her ex-husband’s actions, Kris was quick to defend James when fans criticized the basketball star's performance in the Game 6 of the PBA Philippine Semifinals.
The San Mig Super Coffee Mixers player, who scored nine points in the game, missed a three pointer. His team lost to Ginebra San Miguel Kings with a score of 91-94.

Sell out?
Meanwhile, Kris denied that James 'sold' the game.

"Hindi niya gagawing magbenta ng laro. Dahil buong buhay niya, binuhos niya for that (basketball)," Kris said during the Tuesday episode of "Aquino and Abunda Tonight."
She added,  “Kahit anong benta ang sinasabi nila matutumbasan iyon ng kikitain niya by making it to the finals. Ganoon kalaki ang kontrata niya. So there's no reason for him to sell the game. At the end of the day, you are as good as your last game. So tomorrow, good luck James."

James’ team will be competing in a do-or-die game against Ginebra San Miguel Kings for Game 7 on Wednesday, February 12.

No more anger

Kris said James would surely be happy to hear her good words about him.
Her co-host Boy Abunda, who admitted he is not a fan of James, also defended the cager on the show.
Boy said James' injury might have affected his performance.
"Sa aking paniniwala, hindi nagbenta si James Yap, hindi nagbenta si LA Tenorio. It happens. Sometimes you play well, sometimes you play bad."

Boy, Kris’ good friend, even teased her,  "If I didn't know that you were separated, I would think that you are still so in love."

Kris denied this and explained that she has already "released all anger" in her heart.

Birthday with Kris’ sons

Not only did Kris defend James, she is letting him celebrate his birthday on Saturday, February 15 with her sons Bimby and Josh.

"On Saturday, happy birthday James! Alagaan mo si Bimby and si Josh. Nasa iyo sila, be good. You win tomorrow, prove everybody wrong," she said.

James is in a relationship with Italian Michella Cazzola.

Starting Over Again Movie Review: Ending May Not Favorable to Fans But It's Fresh and Appropriate

Piolo Pascual was already popular when Toni Gonzaga shouted "I love you Piolo!" in a soda commercial. Years later, she found a way to catch up with her leading man when it comes to luster and maybe, talent. Now came their long overdue first movie tandem, aided with the perfect hype, and boasted with a brilliant script.

Nothing obvious went wrong for Star Cinema's Valentine offering but more than the actors' fine performances and director Olivia Lamasan's decent execution, Star Cinema should be providing the brightest and the biggest trophy to screenwriter Carmi Raymundo. Pushing the overused scenario of a love triangle to a spot that is innovative and original is an exceptional task, especially for a movie which is designed for commercialism.

It was a slow start. Though fun and light, I was wishing for it to pick up. Fortunately, it did as the emotional sequences that our melodramatic moviegoers are looking for came at the second half. It was worth the wait. The ending is not favorable for the fans of love stories but it was fresh. Bringing it to real life, "Starting Over Again" provided lessons of when to push, to fold, to accept and when to move on.

The transitions from the then and the now were not conventional and even if unmarked with music or annoying floating texts, the time travel was cohesive and audience-friendly. The lines of the characters were smart and strong too. Ginny (Tony Gonzaga) is brutally assertive, showing how the timid Filipina can scream her hearts out and get what she  believe belongs to her. Patty (Iza Calzado), on the other hand, is the sophisticated, polished and secure woman packed with wisdom. Marco (Piolo Pascual), meanwhile, is your usual gentleman who is calm despite the pains. But if there's one character which made the movie significant, it was the role that Calzado portrayed. This is how well-represented different personalities were and they were beautifully weaved together.
