Cinema One Originals 2016 winners: Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Jameson Blake & more #C1Originals

Cinema One Originals 2016 Awards Night took place earlier at the Dolphy Theatre, with Petersen Vargas' '2 Cool 2 Be 4gotten' as the biggest winner, winning Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor award for Jameson Blake and Best Cinematography.

The other acting honors went to Rocky Salumbides (Best Actor for 'Lily'), Jasmine Curtis-Smith (Best Actress for 'Baka Bukas') and Natileigh Sitoy (Best Supporting Actress for 'Lily')

I'm particularly very happy for Hashtags member and former PBB housemate Jameson Blake, who was able to beat veteran nominees Joel Torre and Ricky Davao. He deservingly won his very first acting award for his first film '2 Cool 2 Be 4gotten'. He's really good in the movie and don't be surprised if he lands more acting projects after this. (Btw, you'll super love his "Make it hard!" scene with Khalil Ramos in the movie.)

PART 5 Beauty and the Beast Trailer Is Out and Fans Went Crazy About It. WHY? WATCH HERE!

Many can’t wait to watch the upcoming live action Disney remake of the classic 1991 film ‘Beauty and the Beast.’

The classic tale is about a beautiful girl, Belle, who stayed with the Beast to save her father. She later finds herself in love with the Beast and was able to break the curse on him, thus returning him to being a prince.

Starring Emma Watson and Luke Evans, its official trailer was released last November 15, and was the most viewed teaser trailer in its first 24 hours. Fifty Shades Darker had 114 million views in its 24 hours and Star Wars which had 112 million views while Beauty and the Beast had 127.6 million.

It is set to premiere on March 2017.

Man Exchanged His Wife And Kids For This Doll He Fell In Love With!

A 61-year old businessman from Nagano, Japan became famous online after he declared that he had fallen in love with his love doll, even leaving his wife with whom he has two kids.

Senji Nakajima developed his “perfect relationship” with his silicone doll he named “Saori”. Six years ago, Senji initially bought the doll to serve his carnal needs but then he realized that he was in love with her.

He left his wife and two kids in Nagano and moved to Tokyo to live with his doll in an apartment. He treats the doll like a real woman; takes her to romantic dates, buys her fancy clothes and even bathes her everyday.

“She never betrays, not after only money. I’m tired of modern rational humans. They are heartless.” Senji said, pertaining to his plastic lover.

“For me, she is more than a doll. Not just a silicone rubber. She needs much help, but still is my perfect partner who shares precious moments with me and enriches my life.”

Silicone dolls like Saori cost up to £4000.

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is a polarizing figure, with numerous supporters and critics from opposite sides of the spectrum. That’s just the way democracy goes.

These 7 Pinoy personalities in particular have openly expressed their criticisms against the views and actions of the Philippines’ current commander-in-chief.

1. Jim Paredes

Last May, legendary musician Jaime Ramon “Jim” Paredes tweeted a photo of President Duterte edited to sarcastically make him look like a Sto. Niño.

Later in June, the writer and producer slammed Duterte’s decision to hold a separate inauguration from Vice President Leni Robredo.

2. Bianca Gonzalez-Intal

Television host Bianca Gonzalez-Intal has criticized the president for his comments against the priesthood and the LGBT community. However, despite disagreeing with some of his views, Bianca appreciates the president’s efforts to address the public.

3. Kitchie Nadal

The singer-songwriter reacted on Facebook about the President’s sexist comments when bragged about having a wife and two girlfriends

Nadal said:

“Womanizing (not womanizers) has to be condemned and not condoned. This is a serious problem in our country for many generations and the reason why our country has become MATRIARCHAL – mothers have to take all the responsibility of raising whole family, while the husbands womanize with society’s quiet approval.”

“It has become part of our culture to think that our leaders’ “private lives” have no lasting impact in society, when the reality is that followers and constituents emulate and follow the lead of their leaders. If ever you are thinking of voting for Mayor Duterte (and I include myself), we should keep in mind that men and women should uphold marital laws as seriously as criminal laws, because family is the very foundation of our society. We should follow these laws for the sake of our children, mothers, and wives – and that means every one of us – because their violation would lead to social chaos.”

“Mayor Duterte, with all due respect, If you cannot follow these marital laws for your family, at least respect these laws for the rest of the families of our nation by upholding them still, like how you want us to sacrifice and respect other laws you are upholding no matter how hard it will be for many.”

“(Naiintidihan ko yung hinanaing ninyo para sa bansa. Kung gusto nyo talaga ng ?#?pagbabago?, simulan nyo sa pagbibigay respeto sa mga comments ninyo. Hindi puro yabang. 4.Gab Valenciano

On April 18, Gab Valenciano, son of legendary musician Gary Valenciano, posted his thoughts on Facebook about then-presidential candidate Rodrigo Duterte. In an interview with Pep.ph, Valenciano stated that he still respects the president regardless of his own personal opinion.

5. G. Tongi

Last September, Actress Giselle Tongi posted a screenshot of Duterte preforming an obscene finger gesture on Instagram with the hashtags #realclassy #not

In October, Tongi wrote another rant on Instagram concerning Duterte’s trash-talking and the 3,000 deaths caused by his bloody war on drugs.

6. Carlos Celdran

Carlos Celdran has been an outspoken critic of President Duterte. Last June, the cultural activist filed an online petition inviting supporters to make then president-elect Duterte resign from the position.

7. Agot Isidro

On October 7, 2016, actress Agot Isidro wrote a Facebook status decrying Duterte’s statement to the EU and the US about withdrawing aid.

She ended the status with “You are a psychopath.”

JAKE VARGAS is glad to do a heavy drama like the afternoon soap "Oh My Mama" while he still has a long-running sitcom like "Pepito Manaloto" where he gets to do comedy. "I guess I'm so blessed to be given the opportunity para maipakitang I can do both drama and comedy," he says when we visited him on the set of "Oh My Mama" which will end its telecast next week.

Meet New Singer-Songwriter Gio De Vera Who'll Have His First Solo Concert At Hard Rock Cafe On November 30

GIO DE VERA is a new singer-songwriter who hit it big when his first composition "Kahit Kailan" was used by ABS-CBN as a theme song. The youngest of two sons of Arch. Emil de Vera, Gio first joined GMA-7's "To The Top" and he made it to the top 10.

"It was a great experience for me with Mr. Ryan Cayabyab as our mentor and I learned so much from him about writing songs," he says. "I was flattered when he said he saw a lot of potential in me as a singer-songwriter. May voice workshops din kami kaya mas nahasa ang voice ko and I also learned how to dance kasi hindi naman ako nagsasayaw before. But nung piliin na yung top 5, hindi ako napasali. I told myself, siguro God has other plans for me. I brought my songs to Sonic State Audio ni Mr. Jonathan Ong for possible recording and he liked my song 'Kahit Kailan' right away. Dinala ko ito sa Warner Music and I signed up with them and they released it as a single. Ginamit ng ABS-CBN na background music sa PBB and other shows. It also got a lot of radio airplay at naging mabili sa iTunes and Spotify. Now, I just recorded my second single, 'Ikaw Na Pala', pero next year na ang release."

Is he in good terms with the top 5 winners in "To The Top"? "Oh yes. We're friends. Nanood ako ng concert nila sa Music Museum and I'm so happy and proud kasi napuno nila yun. I'm inviting them to watch my first solo concert."

Gio will now stage his own concert, "Gio @ 1", to be held at Hard Rock Cafe in Makati on November 30, 8 PM. "It's my way of celebrating my 1st year as a singer-songwriter. I will be singing songs from my influences, Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder, plus other OPM songs and my own compositions. I will be playing the guitar but I also have a band, with my cousin Paolo Cabalda Banaga as musical director. I promise the audience they will have a great time."

Gio is also part of the musical Aman Sinaya, Legend of the Ocean staged at Ocean Adventure in Subic Bay where he plays the lead role. He also does gigs at Kamayan Beach Resort, doing two sets a night. He just turned 22 on April 28 but he now also has his own production company, Creative Upstart, making him a young man who is very much on the go. Kiko Pangilinan On Marcos Burial: "Malilibing Siya Pero Hindi Ibig Sabihin Na Mananatili Siyang Nakalibing Doon"

After the controversially disingenuous surprise burial of the late president and dictator Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani last Friday noon, many refused to keep mum about the issue. One of the more vocal detractors is Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, who insinuated that his remains won’t stay buried at the Libingan ng mga Bayani forever.

“Malilibing siya pero hindi ibig sabihin na mananatili siyang nakalibing dun,” said the recently appointed Liberal Party President, Kiko Pangilinan.

The body of the former president and dictator was deviously brought to the Libingan ng mga Bayani on the same day with surprise rites, only being publicized hours before the event started.

The senator vowed to pursue all legal and political measures in order to have Marcos’ body exhumed from the heroes‘ shrine.

Furthermore, Pangilinan is not alone in his efforts in opposing the burial, as the many victims of the Martial Law era abuses and advocates of human rights expressed their strong defiance of the burial, claiming that it is undeserved and unjust.

Unfortunately for them, and against basic human decency, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the burial voting 9-5-1 last week.
