Rodrigo Duterte Snubs Kris Aquino

President Rodrigo Duterte, who just came from a business trip in Malaysia, failed to attend the scheduled townhall interview by Kris Aquino for TV show "Go Negosyo" because he is not feeling well.

The interview which is set in Duterte's hometown in Davao City had been widely promoted and advertised by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Go Negosyo Foundation, and TV5 on newspapers and TV ads, and on state-run station PTV 4.

"Minsan ang mga first date hindi natutuloy," Kris said on stage after she was introduced by Go Negosyo founder Joey Concepcion.

Admitting that she had no idea at all why she was snubbed, Kris pleased the President to "give me a chance. I hope one day mamahalin mo rin ako. Gusto ko rin kayo makilala."

The Star of All Media, who looked slimmer in a green dress, said she lost weight just for the exclusive interview.

Concepcion said Duterte had a "bad migraine" and couldn't make it. Kris quickly reacted by saying, "Maybe I have that effect on some men."

She said Concepcion, also a presidential adviser on entrepreneurship, nearly had a "heart attack" after learning that Duterte wasn't coming.

The start of the event was delayed by over an hour due to confusion on whether Duterte would be coming.

"Go Negosyo" which will air on PTV4 and TV5 marks Kris' return to television after bidding farewell to viewers of morning talk show "Kris TV" more than seven months ago.

Did Nostradamus Really Predicted Donald Trump"s Presidency Hundred Years Ago as The Anti-Christ Who Would Trigger World War III? READ HERE!

Many were shocked when they found out that the TV series “The Simpsons” predicted the presidency of Donald Trump who had recently won over the Democratic Party’s candidate, Hillary Clinton. However, some netizens say that a man named Nostradamus predicted the same scenario even before all of us were born! His real name is Michel de Nostredame and lived as a French philosopher during the 16th Century. He was known to have predicted events hundreds of years before they happen. He compiled it in a book entitled “Les Prophecies (The Prophecies). He published the first one in the year 1555 with 353 quatrains, the second edition in the year 1557 with 289 verses and the third edition in 1558 with 300 quatrains

Some of his best-known predictions were The Great Fire of London in 1666, the French Revolution in 1789, the rise of Adolf Hitler, and even the 9/11 Terror Attacks. But one part of his predictions caught the attention of many as it closely describes the victory of Trump and is believed to cause World War III in the long run as he predicted.

It says: The false trumpet concealing madness

will cause Byzantium to change its laws.

From Egypt there will go forth a man who wants

the edict withdrawn, changing money and standards.

The trumpet shakes with great discord.

An agreement broken: lifting the face to heaven:

the bloody mouth will swim with blood;

the face anointed with milk and honey lies on the ground.

Arthur Evans explained the passage saying that Byzantium refers to the ancient name of Istanbul in Turkey which Trump recently took an aggressive position against.

“Someone has betrayed him, so now, he is enraged. In the name of religion, he talks blood and ends up swimming in it. What is the land of ‘milk and honey’? It is, obviously, Israel — he’s described his intentions of being a ‘neutral broker’ between Israel and Palestine. The last line indicates to what he said about his big show of friendship and dirt he received in return for his efforts,” Evans said.

What do you think?

Acclaimed Foreign Film Entries In Cinema One Filmfest That You Shouldn't Miss As They'll Compete With Our Own 'Ma Rosa' In The Oscars

WE WANT TO commend Cinema One top honcho Ronald Arguelles for giving us the chance to watch some acclaimed foreign film in their festival that starts tomorrow. Here are some of the films you should not miss, most of them competing in the coming Oscars. You should not miss the rare chance of watching them to see if our own "Ma Rosa" has a good chance against them.

"I, DANIEL BLAKE" - This won the Palme d'Or at 2016 Cannes Filmfest where "Ma Rosa" also competed. Directed by Ken Loach (who also won for "The Wind that Shakes the Barley"), this British social-realist drama is about a widower, Daniel Blake (Dave Johns), who has a heart attack and now unable to work but the state's uncaring welfare system fails him. His fight for dignity becomes a one-man crusade that makes quite an impact.

"THE SALESMAN" - From Iranian director Asghar Farhadi, whose "A Separation" won the Oscar best foreign film in 2012. "The Salesman" also competed in the 2016 Cannes filmfest and won the best actor award for Shahab Hosseini (our own Jaclyn Jose won the best actress award then). It will compete in next year's Oscars, along with "Ma Rosa". It tells the story of a couple who play the lead roles in their own version of the classic Miller play, "Death of a Salesman".

"FIRE AT SEA - FUOCOAMARRE" - The entry of Italy in next year's Oscars, it's set in the island of Lampedusa off Sicily which hit the headlines as the port of call for hundreds of thousands of refugees from Africa and the Middle East fleeing from wars and unrest to migrate to Europe. The film focuses on 12-year old boy Samuel and how life goes on in his island until it's affected by the influx of refugees.

"FRANTZ" - From acclaimed French director Francois Ozon, the film is set in a small German village after the First World War. Anna (Paula Beer) visits the grave of her boyfriend named Frantz, a soldier who was killed in combat in France. One day, she sees a Frenchman, Adrien (Pierre Niney), also visiting the grave of Frantz and this starts her journey in discovering more facts about her boyfriend.

"THE UNTAMED" - This Mexican film from Director Amat Escalante won him the Silver Lion for Best Director at the Venice Filmfest (where "Babaeng Humayo" won the Golden Lion). It's about a couple with a troubled marriage who find a meteorite that leads their encounter with a mysterious creature who turn their lives upside down, bringing both happiness and destruction. More foreign film entries tomorrow.

HOW TO MAKE A STAR 101: "Tsuper Hero" DERRICK MONASTERIO sings REYNA (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO) plus starmaking propaganda tips

Note: I changed the title of the post. Like always, the meat of my posts are the comments. Below are nice tips on the use of propaganda in star-making. One can surely pick up tricks.

GMA has a few interesting loveteams, like that of Derrick Monaterio & Bea Binene. They have a good vehicle in Tsuper Hero, fantaserye being a time-tested successful recipe for the station. I wonder if the GMA people have noticed their young stars have a weak presence in the social media space. Their videos only have a few hits while lesser known stars have hundred times those. They haven't learned much from the propaganda tricks of the Koreans with whom they love to play uto-uto frequently. The patronage of GMA in the urban areas around the metro is still strong, and social media is strongest here so there is a clear hole there in their strategy.  The Koreans have proven a mistaken perception of  "popularity" can be manufactured through a well-oiled propaganda machine, and the best way is to not neglect possible damning signals of unpopularity in the social media. GMA lacks its own trolls to gush over its videos on Youtube, for instance. Somebody should be assigned to raise the hits to 100,000 within a week. How can they create a bandwagon if they don't have a minimum infrastructure to create a popular, however contrived, hook for their stars? If the Koreans, who are not star material, have the gall to propagandize themselves, why not GMA with its infinitely better-looking stars?
