Who Paid for Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera's P100 Million Wedding?

P7-million 3D-mapping wedding cake
P2-million Michael Cinco  ecru lace wedding gown studded with Swarovski crystals and a pearl tiara
A total of whopping P100-million worth actual wedding rites and dinner reception (exclusive of multiple bridal shower parties)
8 officiating Catholic bishops
A gathering of whos who in the world of politics, business and entertainment

A Royal Wedding indeed. But who paid for it?

Kapuso prime actors Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera tied the knot at the Immaculate Concepcion Cathedral in Cubao, Quezon City last December 30 in a ceremony other thought showing too much of everything does not look good at all. But while critics keep on criticizing the newlyweds, their supporters felt they have all the good reasons to spend their hard-earned money to something as wonderful as this.

The P7-million (more than USD150,000), 120 kilos wedding cake which was decorated with Swarovski crystals and was 3D-mapped for projected CG effects was baked and gift from Goldilocks which Dingdong currently endorses.

But while some reports states that the couple's mother network GMA-7 funded the lavish wedding they called "The Royal Wedding" for marketing investment purposes, Teena Barretto, the couple’s wedding coordinator, to the rescue denying all speculations as to the overall wedding expenses and who actually paid for it.

"To end all speculation and wrong assumptions, I will set the record straight," she started saying on her Instagram account, adding "Dingdong paid for the wedding. And it was not a cheap wedding."

She furthers by saying:

"I still feel it is unfair that the couple is being bashed this way for something so beautiful, and most importantly, something they worked so hard for,”

Here is Teena Barretto's full statement posted on her Instagram account:

Posted by Teena Barretto on fashionpulis.com ???? Teena barreto: To end all speculation and wrong assumptions, i will set the record straight. Dingdong paid for the wedding. And it was not a cheap wedding. While some sponsors were graciously accepted, most were politely declined. The amount of sponsorship / xdeal is not even 5% of the total wedding cost paid by the groom. Given that, one can say that yes indeed "they paid for their wedding". To answer one post above, Hennessy is not part of our mix. We didnt even serve that brand. Goldilocks is a brand being endorsed by Dingdong, so the wedding cake was really a gift from Goldilocks. There were suppliers that were taken out in certain areas days before the wedding. Suppliers that went onboard at the last minute were likewise paid in full. While we are thankful to those who were very generous with their products and services, i still feel it is unfair that the couple is being bashed this way for something so beautiful, and most importantly, something they worked so hard hard for. Dingdong had the purest intention of giving Marian the best wedding she deserves. To those with very strong opinion/s re the matter, you may start by posting your name beside your two cents. Its very hard to trust the words of brave people hiding behind the anonymous monicker. I am and will always be the most reliable source of information about this wedding. Happy new year to all! Positivity comes with the truth. Sending positive vibes to everyone!

Some observers are now starting to question whether the newlyweds violate the Philippine Civil Code against ‘thoughtless extravagance’. As lawyer Ferdinand Topacio stated, there is a law against “thoughtless extravagance” specifically Article 25, Chapter 2: Human Relations under the Philippine Civil Code, which states:

Art. 25. Thoughtless extravagance in expenses for pleasure or display during a period of acute public want or emergency may be stopped by order of the courts at the instance of any government or private charitable institutions.

Your thoughts?

Kris Aquino and Ai-Ai delas Alas Reconciled.....or Not

On Tuesday, December 30, estranged BFF (Best Friends Forever) Kris Aquino and Ai-Ai delas Alas accidentally met (and reconciled) at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Cubao, Quezon City where they are both scheduled to attend the "Royal Wedding" of Kapuso stars Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera.

So how the two reconciled?

Witnesses said Kris first reached out and offered Ai-Ai peace offering. A day after the former gave the Comedy Queen a golden necklace with three pendants depicting the Virgin Mary, to whom Ai-Ai has pledged devotion.

It will be recalled that their misunderstanding started when no one from the Aquino family condoled when Ai-Ai's biological mom Gloria Hernandez died in December 2013.

MMFF 2014 Box Office Update: Final Gross won't reach 1-billion? #MMFF2014

MMFF 2014 Box Office Results - The Latest Gross Income of the 40th
Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF 2014) is now close to hitting
P800-million
10 days have passed, and the MMFF 2014 is down to its final 4 days
On track to be the MMFF 2014 Festival Top Grosser is 'The Amazing
Praybeyt Benjamin', which despite "not amazing" reviews already took
in P365-million gross receipts, as of 1PM today, January 4, 2014
according to an update from 'The Buzz' earlier
With that gross, 'The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin' is already the 2nd
highest-grossing Filipino film of 2014 (behind last February's
'Starting Over Again'), and the 6th highest-grossing Filipino film of
all time. With just P90-million behind the all-time highest-grossing
film 'Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy', it's a big possibility that TAPB will
eventually claim that record by the end of its run (and that's if it
won't slow down in ticket sales).
It was also revealed on 'The Buzz' that 'Feng Shui 2', one of 3 horror
entries in the MMFF 2014, already has P195M as of 1PM today and as I
blog this, it has crossed the P200-million mark already, only the 5th
film to achieve so in 2014 (after 'Bride For Rent', 'Starting Over
Again', 'She's Dating the Gangster' and 'The Amazing Praybeyt
Benjamin'). Soon, it will become the highest-grossing Filipino horror
of all time, a record currently being held another Kris Aquino-Chito
Roño film 'Sukob' in 2006.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has no plan of
releasing official figures for each film at this point of the
festival. MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino, who celebrated his 47th
birthday yesterday, revealed however to Showbiz FM on Radyo5 92.3 News
FM this evening that the total gross sales for all 8 films as of 10th
day (January 3) is P786-million, which is sadly 3.6% lower than the
P815-million at the same point during MMFF 2013.
Looks like ticket sales for most of the entries have slowed down this
January and MMFF 2014 won't reach its 1-billion target when it ends on
January 7th. The final gross of the previous MMFF was P999,302,000.
Based on estimates that I got, 'English Only Please' starring Jennylyn
Mercado and Derek Ramsay is now among the Top 4 in the box-office.
This movie produced by Quantum Films definitely benefited the most
from the MMFF 2014 Awards Night, where it won the 2nd highest number
of awards. Since Day 4 of the festival, more screens were added for
this rom-com movie after the many recognitions it got from the Awards
Night.
I have here the ranking of the 8 official entries, based on estimated
gross collection as of this evening, January 4:
WITH P300-MILLION GROSS AND ABOVE:
1. The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin
WITH P200-MILLION GROSS AND ABOVE BUT LESS THAN P300M:
2. Feng Shui 2
WITH P100-MILLION GROSS AND ABOVE BUT LESS THAN P200M:
3. My Big Bossing
WITH P50-MILLION GROSS AND ABOVE BUT LESS THAN P100M:
4. English Only, Please
5. Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles 2
WITH LESS THAN P50-MILLION GROSS:
6. Shake, Rattle & Roll XV
7. Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo
8. Magnum Musilm .357
Tomorrow, January 5th til 7th, the last 3 days of the festival, it is
expected that day-to-day gross receipts will have a dramatic decrease
since people are either back to work or back to school.

‘We Got Married’ to present its Chinese version in the first half of next year

It was revealed that MBC will join hands with China for ‘We Got Married’ Chinese version.

According to multiple broadcasters on January 4th, MBC and China Jiangsu TV will collaborate to produce the Korean – Chinese version of ‘We Got Married’ in the first half of next year.

Unlike ‘I’m A Singer’ and ‘Dad Where Are You Going?”, the show will be made by both dosmestic and Chinese producers. In particular, there will be about 10 people including 2 – 3 PDs and scriptwriters to come to China for the production of the show.

MBC sold the copyrights of both ‘I’m A Singer’ and ‘Dad Where Are You Going?’ to Hunan Satellite TV in 2013 and have experienced great success since then. They are also expected to achieve similar effects as they will be working with Jiangsu TV for ‘We Got Married’ this time.

At P30 Million, Bashers Say The Cost Of Marian & Dingdong's Wedding Could Have Been Spent For The Poor

THE WEDDING of Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes reportedly cost P30 million no less and we’re inclined to believe it. The 12-foot layered wedding cake alone (with Swarovski crystals) is said to be worth P7 million and it was even featured in “Good Morning America”. It was also featured in the newspapers of other countries like Italy, Malaysia and Vietnam. The way the church and the MOA reception was adorned with imported flowers must also be very expensive.

Some haters bashed the newlyweds in social media saying such extravagance is unwarranted at these times when there are so many poor people and the country experienced a number of calamities. P30 million can already build several school houses for the poor. But their supporters quickly defended them saying much of the expense are from the sponsors and both Dingdong and Marian didn’t accept gifts, but instead asked their guests to deposit a donation for Dong’s charity work, YesPinoy Foundation that sends indigent kids to school and help the poor.
