Pinoy celebrities share mixed reactions towards Lady Gaga concert
Lady Gaga’s “Born this Way” tour in Manila, perhaps the most controversial concert of the year,sparked protests against the possibility of dirty or blasphemous lyrics and some nudity. This controversy has even gained international attention through the Rolling Stone Magazine’s website.
Personalities like Gary Valenciano and Martin Nievera, among others, have declared their reactions to Lady Gaga’s concert in the Philippines.
Gary showed his disproval by tweeting “there’s always an uneasy feeling” with regards to Lady Gaga’s music and videos. He followed this tweet up with another saying that his opinion is only for those who are asking for it. Valenciano, or Gary V, is a known devout Christian.
Martin, meanwhile, expressed what could’ve been disappointment or approval in the protests for igniting and fanning the hype over the concert.
Lea Salonga, who’s always known for her open-mind on a wide range of issues, tweeted that the protest is “much ado about nothing” after she read the lyrics of the protested song “Judas.”
Protesters have threatened to sue Lady Gaga if she sings the said song, as it supposedly mocks Jesus Christ.
She later tweeted that “Lady Gaga wins” for selling more tickets due to the hype.
Sen. Bongbong Marcos tweeted that as the concert won’t be “televised,” those who feel disturb about it shouldn’t watch. He urged everyone, “let’s keep it simple.” As of posting time, Bongbong’s message was retweeted 4,012 times by different people, Ruffa Guttierez and Tim Yap among them.
Patty Laurel posted her support for Joseph Bonifacio’s arguments in his website, where he expressed his disapproval of the concert.

Vice Ganda, Ai-Ai reconcile
Months after Vice Ganda admitted his rift with Ai-Ai delas Alas, the two finally reconciled and settled issues between them at the birthday party of ABS-CBN executive Cory Vidanes on Tuesday, May 15.
In separate interviews on “The Buzz” on Sunday, May 20, Vice Ganda and Ai-Ai shared that they have already apologized to each other with Vidanes’ help.
Touching moment
Vice Ganda said the apologies were instant.
“Noong nagkatinginan kami ni Ms. Ai-Ai nagyakapan na kami. Sabi niya sa akin, ‘I love you.’ Noong nag-I love you siya sa akin, sabi ko, ‘Sorry po kung anuman po iyon at I love you din po. Sincerely, sorry and I love you too. Not only because it’s Tita Cory’s birthday pero sincerely gusto ko po talagang humingi ng paumanhin sa inyo.’ Sabi niya ‘Deadma na iyon basta love kita,’” Vice Ganda recalled.
Vice Ganda always believed he and Ai-Ai will reconcile since theirs was a simple misunderstanding which just got magnificed. He added that they didn’t really fight.
“Nararamdaman ko na iyon noon pa na magbabati kami dahil hindi naman kami nag-away. Ni hindi nga kami nagkatagpong may commotion. Walang ganoon, lumaki na lang nang lumaki rin kasi nga kung kani-kaninong bibig nanggaling ang istorya,” Vice Ganda said.
Meanwhile, Ai-Ai shared that her reconciliation with Vice Ganda was also one of her gifts to Vidanes, who wanted the two to end their differences.
“Wala naman talagang hidwaan na malaki, siguro nagkataon lang kasi, alam mo na sa showbiz. Hindi mo alam minsan may mga nasasabi na hindi mo gusto. May mga nasasabi rin ako na baka nakakarating sa kanya na hindi niya nagugustuhan. So nagsorry siya at nagsorry rin ako,” Ai-Ai said.
Ai-Ai disclosed that it feels good to finally reconcile with Vice Ganda, and that it’s nice to be friends and at peace with people she works with in showbiz.
“Siyempre masarap ‘yung wala kang kasamaan ng loob, masarap ‘yung lahat kayo happy kasi maliit lang ang show business, maliit lang ang mundo, so lahat tayo magmahalan na lang.”

Now that she’s fancy-free, is Heart Evangelista dating “Legacy” co-star star Sid Lucero?
“We’re really good friends. And it’s so funny kasi when you’re doing a soap and you’re with this person, right away, you’re romantically (linked). But it’s nice kasi at least naniniwala sila sa acting,” Heart said at SM Supermarket and Unilever’s “Save the Earth, Share Happy” event held at SM Megamall on Friday, May 18.
Heart wore Don Cristobal’s gown in the environmental fashion show.
Group dates
Heart admitted going out with Sid, but only because they were with their “Legacy” co-stars.
“I go out with Sid all the time, not just with Sid alone but with groups. We’re very close. Actually, the whole 'Legacy' cast, we’re very, very close. So, yeah, we all go out.”
Asked again if there is something between her and Sid, Heart smiled and replied, “No, no, no.”
Heart admitted she has been meeting new people, but she “wouldn’t really call it dating.”
“I have dinner with some friends. Or I get to know new people. Kasi, you know, you’re single and it’s always nice to sneak and find out what’s out there, waiting.”
Happy and inspired
Looking happy and inspired, Heart said she’s in a good condition and blessed in her career. After “Legacy,” she topbills another TV drama, “Luna Blanca.”
“Puso ko? Okay na okay ang puso ko. I’m very inspired with my job, tuloy-tuloy, one soap after another. And then I have two movies coming up and endorsements. So, I’m good. I’m actually happy na ganito ang state ko kasi less complications, di ba?” she said.
Is there a chance for her and former boyfriend Daniel Matsunaga to be together again?
“Well, I think I need my time away from that. Of course, a breakup is always, you know goodbyes are, you know, always sad.”
Recycling
Since SM and Uniliver’s Greenbag project Red Chiller Bag involves recycling, the press asked Heart if recycling also applies to her love life.
“Recycling when it comes to love life, that’s something that you really need to think about because once it ends, it must end for a reason at ayaw mo na balikan yung reason na yun. So, hindi na siguro pwede,” she replied.

Lady Gaga “Born This Way Ball” Concert in Manila Might Not Have a Second Night If...
Lady Gaga’s 2-night “Born this Way Ball” World Tour concert at the SM Arena in SM Mall of Asia Complex might not be given the permit to stage a second night performance.
According to Atty. Ray Glenn Agranzamendez, Secretary of Pasay City Mayor Tony Calixto, they will monitor the first night performance of Lady Gaga tonight, May 21, to ensure that she refrains from conduct which may be offensive to religion, morals and good customs.
If she failed to honor the permit given to the concert which states that the artist should follow all the laws and ordinances of the Pasay City, Lady Gaga may not get a permit from the city government to perform on the scheduled second night performance in the same venue tomorrow, May 22.
“Kung magpakita sila ng mga bagay na nakaka-offend sa atin o sa kaisipan ng mga tao rito, baka po makansela ‘yung pangalawang show,” Agranzamendez said in an interview on dzMM Teleradyo.
The concert organizers, meanwhile, said they will try to “stay away from controversial songs” like Judas which religious groups and other protesters claimed as a direct insult to Jesus.

ANGELINE, VICE, AT ERIK, NANGUNA SA LISTAHAN NG NOMINADO PARA SA TAMBAYAN OPM AWARDS 2012
Pinangalanan na ng ABS-CBN FM station sa Mega Manila na Tambayan 101.9 ang mga nominado para sa kanilang taunang Tambayan OPM Music Awards, na pinangunahan nina Angeline Quinto, Kamikazee, Vice Ganda, at Erik Santos bilang may pinakamaraming nominasyon. Kasabay nito, pormal na ring binuksan ang botohan na siyang basehan kung sino ang magwawagi.
Mas pinalaki na nga ang TOPMA ngayong taon dahil sa pakikipag-partner ng Tambayan 101.9 sa lahat ng 16 M.O.R. station nga ABS-CBN Regional Network Group sa bansa para himukin ang mas maraming tagapakinig ng radyo na iboto ang kanilang paboritong kanta o music artists.
Nakakuha ng limang nominasyon ang "Star Power" grand winner na si Angeline Quinto para sa mga kategoryang Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, OPM Revival, at Best New Artist categories. Sinundan naman siya ni Erik Santos at Vice Ganda na mag tig-tatlong nominasyon.
Isang bagong kategorya naman ang ipinakikilala ng TOPMA ngayong taon at ito ay ang Phenomenal Entertainer of the Year kung saan unang maglalaban laban sina Yeng Constantino, Vice Ganda, Toni Gonzaga, at Anne Curtis. Nominado din ang awitin ng tinaguriang concert sweetheart na "Tinamaan Ako" para sa Song of the Year mula sa kanyang platinum album na "Annebisyosa."
Samantala, muling bibigyan ng parangalan ng Tambayani 2011 ang isang artist o songwriter na malaki ang naiambag sa OPM industry. Unang ginawaran ng Tambayani award ang yumaong master rapper na si Francis M. noong 2010 na sinundan ni Charice noong 2011.

Bee Gees singer Robin Gibb is dead. He was 62.
According to reports, Gibb died on Sunday evening, May 20, after losing his battle on colon and liver cancer.
"The family of Robin Gibb ... announce with great sadness that Robin passed away today following his long battle with cancer and intestinal surgery. The family have asked that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time." a statement posted on his official website said.
Born December 22, 1949, Robin Gibb was the elder twin by 35 minutes. While still a teenager, he and his British-born, Australian-raised brothers scored their breakthrough hit, "New York Mining Disaster 1941," a Beatles-esque tune penned by Robin and Barry.

Lady Gaga arrived at the Ninoy International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 on Saturday, May 19, via a private plane and currently billeted at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel.

Gaga is here in Manila for the Philippine leg of her “Born this Way Ball” World Tour happening at the newly-established Mall of Asia Arena on May 21 and 22.
But while her fans rejoice for her arrival, some are not. A picture below taken during her arrival shows some protesters are against Gaga's much-talked about Manila concert for reasons they clearly put on their protest cards.
