"It's definitely an event in Philippine cinema to have all these actors together," ani Mae. "Para siyang isang malaking reunion! Imagine, the biggest stars of Star Magic and ABS-CBN sa mapapanood sa iisang pelikula lang.

"Naiiba siya in a way na its episodic but each episode is tackling love, pero iba-iba nga lang aspeto ng pagmamahal," pahayag ng direktor ng episode nina Piolo, Zaijan, at Xyriel. It may be very young, it may be the people na hindi pa mature mag-isip, pero pagdating sa pag-ibig ay kaya nilang gumawa ng desisyon."

So we're all positive and we're all in this together for the film."

For me it's a story about life. Kasi at the end of the day, kung magugunaw man ang mundo, hahanapin mo 'yung taong mahal mo."

Lee Min Ho Credits His Showbiz Success to His Fans

Ang tugon ni Min Ho, “Being a model and being an actor (are) very special to me. Pero natutuwa talaga ako na nakakapag-model ako, but at the same timemasayang-masaya ako dahil nakakapag-act pa rin ako, because to tell you the truth I feel very passionate about being an actor at gusto ko talagang gumaling para sa mga fans ko.”

Dahil sa mga fans ko I’m really motivated to work harder and to be better.”

“Of course I’m very happy na marami akong followers sa Facebook. To tell you the truth I’m really very excited. This is a very new experience for me. I get to talk to my five million fans over the Internet so I’m very delighted and grateful, kaya naman kapag may oras talaga ako nagre-replyako sa mga messages nila. I get to interact with my fans.”

Like what I said every drama series is a different experience,” paliwanag niya.

By wanderer || Full Story: Kapamilyalogy

Arjo Atayde on Winning Best New Male TV Personality

I felt that it was Khalil [Ramos] or Slater Young yung mananalo kasi sila yung patok sa masa. Pero nung tinawag ako, dun ako kinabahan kasi, ‘A… okay, ako pala nanalo!’”

Ang mga nakalaban ni Arjo ay sina Harvey Bautista (Goin’ Bulilit), Khalil Ramos (Princess And I), Kiko Estrada (Tween Hearts), Michael Pangilinan (Walang Tulugan With The Master Showman), Richard Yap (My Binondo Girl), at Slater Young (Wansapantaym, “Magic Shoes” episode).

Sabi pa niya, “Nung lumabas yung nominations, wala kasi… To be honest… “I’m being frank naman na hindi naman ako magiging plastic, pero mas sikat naman yung mga kalaban ko. To be honest, mas kilala sila as of now. Kaya for me, yung feeling lang na… wala, e. I don’t expect anything. At basta yung sa akin lang, nagawa ko yung best ko as an actor.”

Wala rin daw siyang hinandang speech. Aniya, “Wala akong hinanda. I just said thank you na lang po to the people who really pushed me to the limits talaga. Yung mga taong nagsuporta talaga sa akin from the start.”

Kasi they are leaving for Europe right now.” Saad niya, “Of course, as a best new male TV personality, I’m taking this as na parang challenge. In my next project, for sure, I’ll do better. That’s one thing that I gonna promise to the viewers.”

‘Partysaurus Rex’ is Special Added Attraction to ‘Finding Nemo 3D’

Disney•Pixar’s new short “Partysaurus Rex” makes a splash in Philippine theaters in front of “Finding Nemo” 3D beginning December 5.

“Partysaurus Rex” follows “Hawaiian Vacation” and “Small Fry” in detailing the post-“Toy Story 3” adventures of Woody, Buzz and all their friends. This adventure focuses on Wallace Shawn’s Rex and his experiences during bathtime with Bonnie.

Directed by Pixar veteran Mark Walsh, “Rex” features the voices of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Wallace Shawn, Don Rickles, Estelle Harris, John Ratzenberger, Timothy Dalton and Joan Cusack.

In the short film, Buzz, Woody and the rest of the “Toy Story” gang think Rex is a just a wet blanket. But when Bonnie takes him to bath time, he goes from a party pooper to king of the hot tub! Creating a bubble bash like no other, everyone’s raving about the Partysaurus Rex!

Meanwhile, “Finding Nemo” follows the momentous journey of an overprotective clownfish named Marlin and his young son Nemo - who become separated when Nemo is unexpectedly taken far from his ocean home in the Great Barrier Reef to a fish tank in a dentist’s office. Buoyed by the companionship of Dory, a friendly-but-forgetful blue tang, Marlin embarks on a dangerous trek and finds himself the unlikely hero of an epic journey to rescue his son - who hatches a few daring plans of his own to return safely home.

Brad Pitt is “Killing Them Softly” with Consecutive Good Films

Brad Pitt is “Killing Them Softly” with Consecutive Good Films

Brad Pitt is making the movie star thing look darn easy. Since he last collaborated with director Andrew Dominik, he's starred in the Coen brothers' "Burn After Reading," David Fincher's "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds," Terrence Malick's "The Tree of Life," and Bennett Miller's "Moneyball."
It's been arguably the best stretch of his career, one vacillating between comedy and drama and defined not by summer blockbusters but by provocative director-oriented fare.
The bookends to the period are Dominik's "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" and "Killing Them Softly.” Things are going great even as Pitt insists that movie-making is not his top priority.
"Right now, I'm just attracted to being a dad," said Pitt in an interview. "Film-wise, we get to do this thing and I feel very fortunate to get to do this. So I want to contribute to the art form. I think the films have to speak to our time and be authentic in their approach."
"Killing Them Softly" is adapted from George V. Higgins' 1974 crime novel "Cogan's Trade." It's a stylized, ruthless noir with a host of fine performances - by James Gandolfini, Scoot McNairy, Ben Mendelsohn and Ray Liotta - in a brutally violent criminal wasteland.
Just as "Jesse James" used the western genre to explore a contemporary idea (celebrity culture), "Killing Them Softly" is really about capitalism. While gangsters and criminals maneuver in a grim world of backstabbing, reputation guarding and the perpetual pursuit of money, the background of the film is filled with speeches and billboards of former President George W. Bush and President Barack Obama. Dominik has transplanted the story to 2008, adding the financial crisis as a backdrop for a cynical commentary on American greed.
"I immediately latched on to it because it was precisely the stories we were seeing on the news every day," says Pitt. "Everyone was talking about restoring market confidence and meanwhile people were losing their homes left and right."
Dominik, the New Zealand-born filmmaker of considerable visual flare, wrote the script in the midst of the financial crisis. He saw a connection between Wall Street's power brokers and Higgins' hoods: both showed "the consequences of blindly chasing a buck." "Maybe crime films are about capitalism at its blunt, bottom end," says the director. "It became a vehicle for some ideas."
The quality of Pitt's movies in recent years may not be a coincidence. He's increasingly produced films through his production company, Plan B. The company was more nascent when it produced "Jesse James," but has recently had noted success. Plan B helped produce last year's Palm d'Or winner in Cannes, "The Tree of Life," and the Oscar-nominated "Moneyball." "I don't expect every year to go that way," he says. "According to the laws of physics, things will balance out.
But we're clear in our mandate: Pushing stories and helping storytellers get the film to the screen. Ones that are tougher, we feel we can help out." Pitt runs Plan B, which produced "Killing Them Softly," with Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner, and compares their trio to "a little garage band." "I'm focusing more on producing this year than getting in front of the camera," says Pitt, adding that he's particularly excited about producing the next film from director Steve McQueen ("Shame").
Dominik gave a comedic tone to “Killing Them Softly,” which is largely centered on a series of Beckett-like conversations between the thieves, punctured by bloody outbursts. On hatching a dubious plan, one says: "We're not the only smart guys in the world." "I wanted it to be very square and straight faced, almost like a comic strip panel," says Dominik.
Pitt is now 48 and has six children with Angelina Jolie. The couple, who alternate their movies so neither is in production at the same time, is currently staying outside of London while Jolie shoots a film in the area. The more measured pace suits Pitt. "It just doesn't happen back to back to back," says Pitt. "You need time off to refuel and to be inspired again. There's no greater inspiration than family."
“Killing Them Softly” will be shown exclusively at Ayala Malls Cinemas – Glorietta 4, Greenbelt 3 and Trinoma - starting December 5.
