CLAUDINE BARRETTO is in full combat mode when she faced some writers to talk about her war with ex-husband Raymart Santiago. This time, she’s not just fighting Raymart but the entire Santiago Family, who she said is bullying her. These are her fighting words:
“Ang pinagkaiba ng baho ng mga Barretto sa baho ng mga Santiago, yung sa amin, naaamoy. ‘Yung sa kanila, pag lumabas, ikakasira talaga nila. Hindi na ako papayag. Nabastos na ako noon. Huwag nila akong babastusin. Like what I’ve said, do not mess with my kids. Do not mess with my children. Huwag ninyong gawin sa akin ‘yung ginawa ninyo kay Sherilyn Reyes at kay Paoie. Galit na galit ako manginig na siya (Raymart).”
Sherilyn used to be married to Jun Santiago, elder brother of Raymart and Paoie is their son. When asked about this, Sherilyn, now married to cager Chris Tan, refused to make any comment, wondering why her name was even dragged into the issue.
Raymart’s lawyer, Atty. Ruth Castelo, says they’re ready for whatever accusations Claudine has against Raymart, who refuses to make any comment since they have a gag order. They’re just wondering why Claudine was allowed by her lawyer to call for her own presscon when the gag order prevents them to talk.
This is Raymart’s lawyer’s statement: “Raymart is ready to face whatever charges will be hurled against him and we have all the evidence to prove that they are mere fabrications of lies. His only interest is the welfare of their children Sabina and Santino and we hope that the courts can resolve this issue the soonest for the sake of the children. Claudine has long announced that she’s filing a Violence Against Women and Children case against Raymart but has not filed it. Raymart is ready to face charges anytime. Then it will be up to the court to determine the validity of her claims.”
Claudine might not be aware of it but the sentiment of most netizens is that she should just keep quiet since it’s common knowledge that it’s the Barrettos who are fighting each other as a family, not the Santiagos. Even her supporters think this would be harmful to her if she’s making a comeback since it has very negative implications for her. We heard even advertising agency people are saying this will not be beneficial for her if she wishes to be an endorser anew, unlike her erstwhile rival Judy Ann Santos who has a rosier image in the eyes of the public as a wife and mom. They feel whatever problems she has with Raymart, they should just settle it quietly so the media will not feast on them.

ROCHELLE PANGILINAN enjoys being the dance coach of the new GMA-7 talent search reality show, “Anak Ko Yan”, that starts airing today at 10:45 AM. “Nakakatuwa ang batang contestants namin sa show,” she says. “Makikita mo talagang lahat sila, masigasig matuto. Grabe ang energy at enthusiasm nila.”
So has she seen anyone with great potential? “Marami. But siempre, hindi ko puedeng sabihin at baka ma-accuse pa ako ng favoritism. As a coach, kaming dalawa ni Tita Dulce na coach naman for singing, dapat, walang kinikilingan.”
Don’t the kids bring out the maternal instincts in her? “They do. Lalo na’t kasama ko pa si Jennylyn Mercado as the show’s host. Nakikita ko sila ng anak niyang si Alex Jazz at naiinggit ako somehow. Tapos, yung ibang mga kasama ko, may mga anak na rin like Katrina Halili and Kyla, o kaya buntis, like Jolina. Ang nanay ko nga, kung minsan, nagpaparinig, gusto na raw niyang magka-apo. Pero hindi pa puede. May clause sa contract ko with GMA na bawal muna kong magbuntis, lalo ngayong panay ang sayaw ko sa ‘Sunday All Stars’ at ngayon, dito rin sa ‘Anak Ko Yan’. E, for two years pa yung contract ko kaya trabaho muna tayo.”
What does her BF of five years, Arthur Solinap, say about this? “Okay naman sa kanya. Makakapaghintay pa naman kami. Ipon muna bago kami mag-settle down. Kailangan, yung handang-handa na talaga kami.”
As a coach, she can’t be helped but be affected by the kid contestants in “Anak Ko Yan”. “Yung isa, naiyak ako, sobrang seryoso ganong 7 years old pa lang. Nang tanungin ko kung bakit siya sumali, gusto raw niyang makatulong sa pamilya niya. Imagine, sa edad niyang yun, family na niya ang nasa isip niya. Mahirap din kapag nagkakaproblema kami sa parents kasi kung minsan, mas pasaway pa sila sa mga anak nila.”

The Beautiful Beginning
Since its premiere last March 18, GMA Telebabad drama series Mundo Mo’y Akin has been getting rave reviews and high ratings.
The show’s beautiful and interesting storyline is one of the reasons why viewers are so hooked on this show. “We’ve been getting good ratings so far kaya nakaka-inspire talaga magtrabaho,” lead actor Alden Richards who plays the role of Jerome, shared. “Sana po tuloy-tuloy ang pagsuporta n’yo sa Mundo Mo’y Akin kasi paganda nang paganda ang storya,” he added.
According to award-winning actress, Jaclyn Jose, who plays Donya Charito in the show, it’s the beautiful camaraderie among actors and production staff that makes Mundo Mo’y Akin a major success. “My director is my friend. My co-actors are all professionals. Lahat sila magagaling. Kaya ang buong show ay nadadala dahil ensemble ang soap na ito. Lahat magagaling ang nagtatrabaho,” she said. Alden also added, “Mahaba ang bonding moments namin especially with co-actors. Masarap kasi isang buong family na kami dito eh.”
Why else is Mundo Mo’y Akin so well-loved by many? This primetime drama never fails to give us high-calibre performances by its stellar cast. Viewers and even critics have been raving about the beautiful chemistry among lead stars Alden Richards, Louise delos Reyes and Lauren Young, as well as the excellent acting of Sunshine Dizon, Angelika dela Cruz, Gabby Eigenmann, Jolina Magdangal and everyone’s favourite, Madame Charito herself, Jaclyn Jose. “Siyempre, natutuwa ako kapag nagwo-work yung trabahong gawa ko, kapag nagustuhan, na-appreciate ng viewers. Originally set to run for sixteen weeks, Mundo Mo’y Akin was awarded several extensions because of the positive feedback and consistent high ratings.

Will Marilyn and Darlene finally patch things up? Will Jerome and Marilyn eventually end up together? Will Perlita and Rodora become best of friends again? Now that the show is nearing its end, everyone is asking the same question: Will the ending be truly beautiful? “Patuloy lang silang tumutok sa Mundo Mo’y Akin dahil marami pang mangyayaring twist sa story na ikagugulat nila kaya ‘wag na ‘wag silang bibitiw! Paniguradong beautiful ending talaga,” a member of the show’s staff revealed.
