Why It's More Credible That Lovi Poe Had A Love Affair With Jake Cuenca & Not Rocco Nacino

AT THE ‘AKIN Pa Rin ang Bukas’ presscon, some writers were pressuring Lovi Poe and Rocco Nacino to admit that they are on but the two insisted they’re really just the best of friends. We believe them. Knowing how driven both they are when it comes to their respective careers, we think they’re telling the truth when they say they really have no time for love at this point. We’re more inclined to believe that Lovi did have a relationship with Jake Cuenca after they did “My Neighbor’s Wife”, but something happened unsavoury between them that stalled it so it didn’t prosper.

Rocco says both he and Lovi are happy to be paired for the third time in “Akin Pa Rin ang Bukas” that starts airing on Monday to replace “Mundo Mo’y Akin” that will have its finale tonight.

“First time namin was in ‘Love Bug’ then in ‘Yesterday’s Bride’,” he says. “Hindi naman namin ikinakaila na we enjoy working with each other. Mas lumalim na ang friendship namin at masaya kami sa set. Pero mahirap isabay ang lovelife kasi pareho kaming super busy. Magkasama rin kami sa ‘Titser’ ng GMA News TV and we’re both doing movies pa. I just finished shooting ‘Burgos’ and I’m now doing the filmfest entry on the life of San Pedro Calungsod. Mahirap yung role kasi I speak in Visayan dahil taga-Cebu siya, and also in Spanish kasi Spanish friars ang mga kasama ko rito. So nag-aaral ako magsalita ng fluent Spanish and Visayan. And also Latin pala, kaysa may mga prayers daw kami na in Latin. Tapos, sisimulan ko na ang taping nung Season 2 ng docu-drama where I appear as a young mayor, ‘Bayan Ko’. Then on Sundays, I’m also with ‘Sunday All Stars’, kaya sobrang busy talaga. But kahit walang lovelife, happy naman ako. I’m helping my family. Nakasosyo ko doon sa Elorde Gym sa Ortigas then I was able to buy a new townhouse in Quezon City na medyo mahal kaya nagsisipag talaga ako para mahulugan ko buwan-buwan.”

What about the story that he had a violent encounter with Jake Cuenca because of Lovi? “It never happened. Nagkita raw kami sa place where Lovi lives at nauwi sa pisikalan. Walang ganun at hindi mangyayari yun kasi I don’t believe in resorting to violence in solving anything. Ang dami kong blessings na natatanggap mula kay Lord, so I should just be thankful at hindi ko na kailangang pumasok sa ganyang mga gulo.”

Marian Rivera Denies Report She Doesn'T Want To Work With Talents Of Her Former Manager

WE SAW THE full trailer in theatres of “Kung Fu Divas”, to be released in October by Star Cinema, and it’s really impressive. The fantastic visuals make it look like a Hollywood movie. Ai Ai de las Alas and Marian Rivera play rivals in a beauty pageant who are after each other’s necks, but they become allies to fight an evil villain, played by Roderick Paulate. Their mentor who trains them to be good fighters is Edward Mendez, who once was linked to Dr. Vicki Belo. The movie will be released in October by Star Cinema.

GMA-7 is now also preparing Marian’s new soap. Someone wrote that she told GMA management not to include any of the talents (Dennis Trillo, Tom Rodriguez, Rafael Rosell) of her former manager, Popoy Caritativo, in the cast of her new show. She even stressed this to them before she signed the renewal of her contract with GMA. Because of this, Popoy is now said transferring his wards to other networks.

But Marian herself says this isn’t true. “Huwag na lang patulan ang ganyang gawa-gawang intriga,” she says. “Okay lang sa akin kahit sinong makasama ko. Hindi naman ako ang casting director, no? Basta ang importante, bagay kaming lahat ng mga makakasama sa aming magiging kanya-kanyang roles.”

Even Popoy himself says he’s not aware of such a directive from Marian and adds that he doesn’t believe she can do such a thing. Why would he transfer his talents when Dennis and Tom are now doing well in the hit show, “My Husband’s Lover”, while Rafael is with Bianca King in “Maghihintay Pa Rin”?

For her next TV assignment, Marian has already met with GMA execs and they presented her three possible story ideas. She has picked the concept she likes and gave her own inputs on how it’ll be developed for the screen. It’s slated to start taping in October and they’ll hold an audition as to who’ll be her next leading man.

James Franco Welcomes the Apocalypse in “This is The End”

James Franco Welcomes the Apocalypse in “This is The End”

Hip actor James Franco satirizes himself as he plays a Hollywood version of, well, himself, in Columbia Pictures' wacky comedy “This Is The End.”
Says writer-director and co-star Seth Rogen, “The things we mock in James Franco in the movie are real, but Franco in real life is nothing like the way he acts in the movie. He genuinely does like art and weird stuff, but it’s not pretentious and he’s not in-your-face about it. He doesn’t care what others think about his art. He just likes art.”
In “This Is The End,” six friends – who just happen to be James Franco, Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride, and Craig Robinson – are trapped in Franco’s house as the end of the world begins outside. And we’re not talking about any old California-slides-into-the-ocean earthquake… we’re talking the fire-and-brimstone Apocalypse – the real Biblical deal.
Franco says that he didn’t hesitate to sign on for the project – even though he wouldn’t have even considered the project if it had been with anyone other than the writing-directing team of Rogen and Evan Goldberg. “We’re playing extreme versions of ourselves, and I would really only trust Seth and Evan to depict me in an outrageous way,” he says. “Their take on me is funny – of course, I don’t think I’m really like that, but yes, it’s a version of me, it’s their version, and it’s funny. But going back to `Superbad,' through all their movies, they put in a level of heart, or emotion, that grounds the characters, and that’s in this movie, too. I was game for it because the way they make movies, their sensibility is just so solid.”
“The way my character is on the surface, he’s a pretty shallow person,” says Franco. “He’s a guy who thinks that Seth can’t be his friend and anybody else’s – like sixth grade behavior. So that’s where we took the character deeper. In real life, Seth has been there at important points in my career – ‘Freaks and Geeks,’ ‘Pineapple Express’ – so we took that and decided that the character of James Franco would have this affection for Seth and need to connect with him. Really, he’s obsessed with Seth.”

In the film, Franco’s house is filled with art. Not surprising, in a way, because the real Franco cares deeply about art. However, the filmmakers and the real Franco make it clear that there’s a blurry line between the art he cares about and the art that the pretentious character he plays prefers. “My first conversation with James Franco was about the fact that the character is a ‘version’ of James Franco,” says production designer Chris Spellman.
“People know I’m interested in art,” says Franco. “I just went to school for it and for a while I was collecting art – I sold most of it a while ago so I could go to school and not work so much. So it was kind of a funny idea that the Franco character would be collecting art, and Seth asked me if there was any particular artist that I wanted to have in the character’s house. And I thought, there’s a way to take this to a different level. There’s a painter that I really like named Josh Smith – his work is hard to place because a lot of it has a very humorous feel, even though it’s abstract work. Josh was interested. Not only interested, but wanted to create new work, and it would be special because it would be work that was only intended for this movie. And as Josh and I were talking, we came on the idea that we could do the paintings together. Josh and I spent two days together and we painted a lot, through the night , ten huge paintings and a bunch of little ones.”
Together, Franco and Smith created art that directly references the movie. “The idea is that my character is somewhat obsessed with Seth,” says Franco. “So the subjects of the paintings are shows I did with Seth – there’s a Freaks painting and a Geeks painting, there’s a Pineapple Express painting.”
Distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International, “This Is The End” will be shown exclusively at Ayala Malls Cinemas nationwide starting September 11.

Geoff Eigenmann to Unfold Hunkier Body

Geoff Eigenmann to Unfold Hunkier Body

Fans should watch out for Goeff Eigenmann's hunkier body very soon!  This is what the actor's cousin, Gabby Eigenmann, hinted when he was interviewed by GMANetwork.com on the set of the GMA primetime series "Mundo Mo'y Akin."
Gabby revealed that Geoff has been hitting the gym since the first time he took him there.  The actor said his cousin is really determined to get back in shape and return to acting soon.  It can be recalled that several months ago, there were reports that GMA Network slapped Geoff with a so-called “fat memo” because he had become too stocky for television. Neither Geoff nor GMA confirmed the existence of such memo, however.
So, should viewers expect to see Geoff with a six-pack abs in a couple of months? "Hindi naman, siguro mga four-pack abs lang," Gabby quipped.
Meanwhile, "Mundo Mo'y Akin" is airing its finale episode tomorrow and Gabby is having mixed emotions about it.  Although he feels sad the show has come to an end, he is fulfilled that it ended well and that it was a huge success.  "Mundo Mo'y Akin" was extended twice because of its high ratings performance.
Gabby said that he will miss the very light working environment on the show, especially their scenes with Ms. Jaclyn Jose, who portrays as Dona Charito.  Charito's funny remarks and Jaclyn’s deliberate monotonic delivery of her lines make her co-actors bust into laughter every after take.
How the love triangle of Jerome (Alden Richards), Marilyn (Louise delos Reyes) and Darlene (Lauren Young) will end is still a mystery but this mess will be sorted out in tomorrow's finale episode dubbed "the beautiful ending."
Beautiful is a positive word. Does this mean that it's going to be a happy ending?
Watch out for the finale episode of “Mundo Mo’y Akin” tomorrow night, after "Anna Karenina," on GMA Telebabad.

Alden Richards Says Retokada Girl is a Major Turn-Off

Alden Richards Says Retokada Girl is a Major Turn-Off

"I'm not really a fan of plastic surgery [aesthetic enhancement]. I am personally against it kasi it's like altering the appearance that God has given you."
This is what Kapuso star Alden Richards declared in an interview on the set of the primetime series, "Mundo Mo'y Akin." The actor was asked if he would be attracted to someone who has undergone plastic surgery for aesthetic reasons.
In the series, Alden plays as Jerome, a poor but hard working student who strived to finish college and put up his own restaurant.  Jerome's best friend "Marilyn" (Louise delos Reyes) secretly admires him but thought that he won't ever look her way because she is not blessed with good looks.  In the course of the story, Jerome meets the beautiful Darlene (Lauren Young), daughter of a rich restaurant owner and grand daughter of Dona Charito (Ms. Jaclyn Jose) who looks down on Jerome and considers him a piece of trash. Although Darlene is beautiful, her character is not as lovely.  Marilyn, on the other hand, is the exact opposite of Darlene.
Jerome eventually fell in love with Marilyn, making Darlene very jealous of Marilyn.  In a desperate move to get rid of Marilyn, Darlene forcibly dragged her into her car and drove like crazy along a highway until they met an accident, which left Marilyn fighting for dear life and with a damaged face. Marilyn undergoes a plastic surgery which transformed her from an ugly duckling into a beautiful lady.
Jerome may have been mesmerised at the sight of the new Marilyn, but Alden says he won't be if it happened in real life.
"When it comes to love, I think hindi ako ma-a-attract sa retokada.  Siguro if Marilyn remained the way she was, baka magustuhan ko," admitted Alden.  "Although sa kuwento naman ng 'Mundo Mo'y Akin' wala naman ding choice si Marilyn kasi nasira yung mukha niya because of a car accident and so she really needed a facial reconstruction," he explained.
Alden does not deny, however, that appearance is still the first thing that he notices in a girl but the aesthetics, he says, is not what really matters in the end.
"Realistically speaking, talaga namang yung itsura yung first na makikita mo sa isang tao. I think that's true to all of us, even sa mga babae, yung first na mapapansin nila ay yung appearance. Pero lumalalim yung feeling of attraction when you get to know the person better - yung attitude niya, the way she talks, the way she relates herself to you -- pero bonus na lang talaga kung maganda rin yung appearance niya," he explained.
In terms of differences in social and economic status, Alden said that it should not be an issue in a relationship because everyone is equal when it comes to love.
"Wala naman 'yan sa estado ng buhay e. As long as you love each other, you understand each other, and you have this certain 'spark' -- that's what makes it work e. It doesn't matter who you are," said the young actor.
Are there similarities between Alden and his character in the series?
"Yung mga effort ni Jerome is geared towards becoming a better person: nagsisikap para yumaman, gustong bigyan ng magandang buhay ang pamilya niya, gustong maging deserving para sa pagmamahal ng babaeng gusto niya. More or less, sa aspetong ito ako nakakarelate sa mga naging characters ko. I always strive to prove myself to everybody, but I'm not doing it just to impress them but for myself.  I make it a point to constantly improve, to become a better person each time," he replied.
Watch the beautiful ending of "Mundo Mo'y Akin" tomorrow night, after “Anna Karenina” on GMA Telebabad.

Allen Dizon Bares His Body Once Again In Violent Love Scenes With Bangs Garcia In 'Lauriana'

ALLEN DIZON started as a bold actor in 1998 who has no qualms doing nude scenes in such sexy flicks as “Tatlong Makasalanan”, “Pamasak Butas” and “Pila Balde”. When skin flicks waned, his manager, Dennis Evangelista, helped him reinvent his career as a serious actor, starting with “Twilight Dancers” in 2006 where he won his first acting award as best supporting actor for his performance as an ill-fated aging macho dancer.

He then did more serious and relevant films like “Marino” (about seamen), “Patikul” (about coffee planters in Mindanao), “Sigwa” (about the First Quarter Storm), “Dukot” (about political abductions), “Deadline” (about murders of media people), “Pink Halo-Halo” (about the war in Mindanao) and “Migrante” (about OFWs in Israel.) He has since won more acting awards.

Now, he goes back to doing a sexy film in Director Mel Chionglo’s entry in the Sineng Pambansa, “Lauriana”, written by Ricky Lee, which got an A rating from the Cinema Evaluation Board.

“Sexy ito, but with a difference,” he says. “May mahabang nude love scene kami ni Bangs Garcia as Lauriana, very tender, and in contrast marami kaming love scenes na violent kasi abusive ako sa kanya rito. This was offered to me kasabay noong ‘Lihis’, but halos sabay ang shooting so my manager chose this for me. We shot this on location in Tulay Buhangin in Bondoc Peninsula in Quezon. I play a very complex character as Samuel, a PC captain na akala mo ang bait-bait, pero may tinatago palang violent streak. His mother committed infidelity at nakita niya kaya naging obsessive ako rito kay Bangs. Sa sobrang selos, nilagyan ko siya ng chastity belt. Pag galit ako, binubugbog ko siya, tapos, remorseful ako, nagsisisi, hihingi ng tawad, then the cycle is repeated all over again.”

Can he identify with his character? “Not at all. It’s so not at me. I’m not violent by nature. Hindi ako nananakit ng babae. Hindi rin ako nao-obsessed sa kanila. Sila ang nao-obsessed sa akin,” he laughs.

So how is Bangs as “Lauriana”? “She’s great. I was the one who recommended her. Kasi nag-back out yung unang napili, si Nina Jose. Then nag-interview sina Direk ng ibang actresses pero maraming hesitations sa role. That time, Bangs plays my sister in the movie ‘Burgos’. Sabi ko, gusto ba niyang subukan. They gave her the script and she agreed to do it. Magkasama rin kami noon sa ‘Migrante’ kaya comfortable na kami sa isa’t isa. Naging madali yung bedscenes namin. Ang mahirap, yung bugbugan scenes. Nag-usap kami na okay lang kaming magkasakitan. At yun nga ang nangyari. Nagkapasa-pasa siya. At dahil lumalaban siya, ako naman, puro kamot niya. But it’s worth it dahil ayan, naka-A kami and everyone who’ve seen the film, gustong-gusto nila.”

The film starts in the 50s and shows him growing old in the 70s. “The story is told from the point of view of a boy, Carding, played by child star Adrian Cabido. He idolizes me but bad influence ako sa kanya. Tinuturuan ko ng wrong values like manigarilyo, mambabae, then nakita niya kong ginugulpi si Bangs at na-trauma siya. Our final scene shows him as Victor Basa, visiting me na bulag na ako, kalbo na, may skin disease, sobrang guilty sa ginawa ko kay Bangs, sobrang nakarma. Nilagyan ako ng prosthetic makeup that took five hours to apply. Tapos, pinabago ni Direk Mel pati voice ko. I’m really proud of what I’ve done. I think this is my best work so far.”

“Lauriana” will have its premiere tonight at SM Edsa The Block then it opens at SM Cinemas nationwide on September 11. Allen is also in Joel Lamangan’s “Burgos” which has a special whole-day advanced screening at SM on October 18.

Denzel Washington Turns Comedy Actor in “2 Guns”

Denzel Washington Turns Comedy Actor in “2 Guns”

For the fimmakers of TriStar Pictures' new action thriller “2 Guns,” there's only one actor working today who could wholly embody the complex, lead character Bobby Trench, whose motto is “When this is over, I’m going to kill you.” And he's none other than two-time Academy Award® winner Denzel Washington.
After portraying a series of intense characters in recent years, Washington was searching for some humor in his next role. He found that in agent Bobby Trench. “I was looking to depart from heavier roles, and when I read this script it really made me laugh,” the performer reports. “Bobby does whatever is necessary to get the job done. He says there is no code; you do whatever you got to do, whatever it takes. I think he is an honest cop, but he doesn’t live by the honor codes.”
In “2 Guns,” two operatives – Bobby Trench (Washington) and Michael “Stig” Stigman (Mark Wahlberg) - from competing bureaus are forced on the run together. But there is a big problem with their unexpected partnership: Neither knows that the other is an undercover federal agent.
DEA agent Robert Trench is called many names. And depending upon the role you play in his world, you may know him as Agent Trench, Bobby B. or Bobby Beans. He’s spent three years infiltrating drug cartel leader Papi Greco’s Mexico-based empire, and in the past 12 months, he’s brought in Stig to work the job. Bobby’s latest deal has him trading 500 American passports for cocaine, and Greco has come up with cash, not coke. As Bobby and Stig head back into the U.S. - happy to still have their heads attached to their bodies - they are hauled into custody. Both of their superiors are less than pleased they’ve come back empty-handed.
Working on both sides of the law for so many years has allowed Bobby to effortlessly maneuver between the worlds. Washington explains: “‘I-know-a-guy Bobby,’ my undercover character, can get anything for you that you need: a ’63 Chevy, a ’59 bottle of wine, a condo in the Himalayas. Whatever it is, he knows a guy; that’s his modus operandi.” Still, Bobby’s not beyond being duped himself. “Bobby and Stig are lying to each other for half the picture. I’m not what I told him I am, and he’s not what he told me he is.”
Partnering these two performers was an exciting prospect for director Baltasar Kormákur, who initially suggested to the team that Washington’s Bobby would be the perfect foil for Wahlberg’s Stig. “I hadn’t seen Denzel play light,” says the director. “But the comedy in `2 Guns' is based on reality, like De Niro in `Midnight Run.' Denzel has such an immense presence, but actors with good drama sense have good timing. That timing is everything when it comes to comedy.”
Mark Wahlberg was glad that the stars finally aligned for the two men to work together. Discussing Washington, he states: “We have great chemistry. We’ve known each other for a while, and this was the perfect piece of material for both of us to show a different side of ourselves. People would be very surprised to see how playful Denzel can be. I remember shooting our first scene, and every take I would do something completely different. He said, ‘Oh, I see what’s happening here,’ and he jumped right on board.” Wahlberg admits that he had a bit of an ulterior motive, and that was to get Washington to laugh. “There’s nothing better than seeing Denzel smile. Usually you get to see that once or twice in a movie; in this film, we see it a lot.”

Opening across the Philippines on September 25, “2 Guns” is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International. Visit www.columbiapictures.com.ph to see the latest trailers, get free downloads and play free movie games.

Sam Rockwell Goes All “The Way, Way Back”

Sam Rockwell Goes All “The Way, Way Back”

One of the most dynamic actors working today, Sam Rockwell (“Iron Man 2,” “Space Cowboys”) stars as Owen, the quirky mentor to an awkward, self-conscious teen who must learn to embrace his individuality, in Fox Searchlight's inspiring comedy-drama “The Way, Way Back.”
A humorous and heartwarming story of self-discovery from Academy Award® winners Nat Faxon and Jim Rash (“The Descendants”), “The Way, Way Back” will be shown exclusively at Ayala Malls Cinemas starting September 11.
“We had a phone meeting scheduled with Sam and we were all ready to give him our spiel,” recalls Rash. “But almost immediately he just said ‘sounds great guys, let’s just do this.’”
“The Way, Way Back” is the coming of age story of 14-year-old Duncan’s (Liam James) summer vacation with his mother, Pam (Toni Collette) and her overbearing boyfriend, Trent (Steve Carell). Having a rough time fitting in, the introverted Duncan finds an unexpected friend in Owen (Rockwell), the gregarious manager of the Water Wizz Water Park. Through his funny, clandestine friendship with Owen, Duncan slowly opens up to and begins to finally find his place in the world - all during a summer he will never forget.
It was the script and especially the character - a wisecracking motor mouth with a heart of gold - that convinced Rockwell to take the role. “For me, it’s always the part that matters, and this is a great one,” he says. “Then when I met Nat and Jim, they were awesome. Working with directors who are also actors is always easier I think. There’s shorthand and empathy there. We didn’t stray very much from the script but they were tweaking as we went and honing the comic timing.”

Owen runs the Water Wizz Water Park, and serves as unofficial camp counselor to the kids who hang out there. “He takes a lot of them under his wing,” says Rockwell. “Duncan is pretty shy and it becomes Owen’s mission to expand his horizons. The trouble with Owen is that he doesn’t take anything too seriously. Life is just non-stop giggles for him. At first Duncan doesn’t seem to have a sense of humor and that perplexes Owen. He decides to teach the kid to take more chances and carpe diem.”
But Owen’s devil-may-care approach to life doesn’t always work out for him, Rockwell observes. “It gets him in trouble with a woman he cares about. He can’t seem to get it together when it comes to her. Like a lot of comedians, he developed a veneer of silliness to push away any real feelings.”
Rockwell, known to be a fast-talking comedy whirlwind, made his own contributions to the dialogue, according to producer Tom Rice. “Sam Rockwell is one of the most brilliant improvisers I have ever seen,” says the producer. “Every take was just a little different and he never once missed the mark. I’ve never seen somebody improv so successfully before. He is unbelievably funny.”
Conclides Rash: “Sam has a natural charisma that is perfect for this role. He could improvise comic bits all day and also handle the more serious moments. Owen really recognizes himself in Duncan.”
“The Way, Way Back” is distributed by 20th Century Fox through Warner Bros.

AzMarie Livingston and Raven-Symoné in Gay Relationship

After coming out as a lesbian in August, Raven-Symone stepped out with her long-rumored girlfriend AzMarie Livingston at Ludacris' Labor Day charity event, LudaDay Weekend Celebrity Pool Party in Atlanta on Monday, September 2.

The 27-year-old former Cosby Show actress posed for a cute picture with the America's Next Top Model alum. Raven-Symone, wearing a white dress, thick clear glasses and long braids in a bun on the top of her head, smiles and flashed the peace sign while leaning on Livingston's shoulder.

"Atl is poppin all weekend, chillin with #throwbackfriends #NewFriends loving Luda day weekend," the former Disney star tweeted on August 31. "Just saw Luda too. pimp, it's goin down."

On September 2, she added, "#Ludadayweekend #bestdaysever I don't know the words to describe my weekend . . . I MADE IT THRU! For the kids! #everyonewhoturnedup yesssss.."

After tweeting on August 2 that she could "finally get married," Rav en-Symone released a statement through her reps confirming she is a lesbian - but has yet to actually exchange marital vows with anyone. "I am very happy that gay marriage is opening up around the country and is being accepted," she told CNN. "I was excited to hear today that more states legalized gay marriage. I, however am not currently getting married, but it is great to know I can now, should I wish to."

In May 2012, the That's So Raven star refused to confirm a report in the National Enquirer that she was dating and living with Livingston.

"I'm living my PERSONAL life the way I'm happiest. I'm not one, in my 25 year career to disclose who I'm dating," she wrote on Twitter. "And I shall not start now . . . My sexual orientation is mine, and the person I'm datings to know."

Though she hasn't confirmed a relationship with Livingston, Raven-Symone did deny recent rumors that she was seeing singer Ari Lennox. "I'm not dating ari," she tweeted August 17. "People need to stop coming to conclusions. Smh. So anyone I take a picture with I'm dating -- or having their baby."
