SHOW DESCRIPTION: Balita Pilipinas Ngayon (News Philippines Now or News Philippines Today) is the daily regional news broadcast of GMA News TV which airs in the Philippines. It is aired daily at 3:30-4:00 PM moved to 4:00–4:45 PM (PST).

It serves as a spin-off of Balita Pilipinas and is anchored by Maki Pulido and Mark Salazar with its regional reporters from GMA stations in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. The newscast is different from Balita Pilipinas in that it features different news of the day from the different regions in the Philippines.

Zanjoe Marudo Enjoys His Gay Role In 'The Third Party', Happy For Ex-GF Bea Alonzo & Gerald Anderson

ZANJOE MARUDO plays a gay doctor in love with Sam Milby in his new movie, "The Third Party", now currently showing in theaters. Didn't he have any reluctance in accepting the role? "No, na-excite nga ako kasi it's something new. I've played a gay role in 'Bromance', pero comedy yun. Ito, more serious in portraying a gay romance. My character, si Christian, is a caring and loving person na very close to his family. Hindi naman siya isang balahurang bakla."


Isn't he worried folks might suspect that he's really gay? "I really wouldn't mind. These days, hindi na big issue ang sexual preference mo. Bale wala na kung bading ka ba o lalaki ka. I have many gay friends and they're good people."

What can he say about reports that his last girlfriend, Bea Alonzo, is now playing beautiful music with Gerald Anderson? "I don't know if it's true, but labas na ako roon. Matagal na kaming wala ni Bea, we've both moved on and we've remained friends naman. We remain civil to each other kapag nagkikita kami. Kung totoo yun, happy ako for them."

Alden Richards Made Ratings Of 'Encantadia' Soar Higher, Gets Diamond Record Award, To Host Asian TV Awards In Singapore Next Month

ALDEN RICHARDS just received a Diamond record award for his first album with GMA Records which sold 150,000 CD's and includes the big hit "Wish I May". Now, his new album, "Say It Again" with "Rescue Me" as the hit single, has also quickly turned gold, prompting Alden to post in his social media account: "Never in my life have I imagined that I'd record songs and release albums. This is more than what I asked for, sabi ko nun 'Kahit mag-gold lang, kuntento na ako.' Sometimes faith really does its magic for you when you believe. God really works in unimaginable ways."

He's also said to be the reason why the ratings of "Encantadia" suddenly soared after he started appearing in the telefantasya as a Mulawin. Although Alden remains humble and denies it, saying the show is really good that's why it's rating better. We won't be surprised if GMA would now extend his stay in the show.

Now, Alden also holds the singular distinction of being the only Pinoy selected as one of the hosts of the 21st Asian Television Awards (ATA) to be held at Suntec Convention Centre in Singapore on Dec. 2. He will be joining Malaysian-born actor Adrian Pang; TV personality Stephanie Carrington; and multi-lingual host Baki Zainal.

Some of the performers at the event are multiple Golden Melody Awards winner JJ Lin and international pop phenomenon Charli XCX. According to its official site, ATA was launched in 1996 and they have been recognizing excellence in programming, production and performance. The winners are determined by a panel with over 60 judges from different countries. The results are tabulated and audited by international auditing firm PriceWaterhouseCoopers. The awards night will later be aired on December 11, 9.30 p.m. on GMA News TV.

"One True Love" shown on October 14 at My TV Africa (all Subsaharan African countries except South Africa)

I'm on travel and the internet connection sucked. I usually allot 10 minutes sneak time to post my articles via my smartphone but my attempts the past days were really a struggle, be it via Wi-Fi or LTE. Sorry for the missed posts.

Anyway, we have here an encouraging news from GMA, the second TV broadcast station of the Philippines. It sold a teleserye starring Alden Richards & it's going to be aired on My TV Africa on October 14. I criticized GMA before for undermining the world-class Pinoy capacity to produce teleseryes by continue plying low-rating Korean dramas, acting like the Peruvian Panamericana TV of the Philippines (Panamericana showed kdramas for 10 years though they were perennially at the bottom of the Peruvian ratings lorded over by telenovelas from Mexico, Peru, Turkey, Colombia & the Philipines, but it was a low-rating station generally which needed other sources of income, while GMA should have had more self-respect because it was supposed to be in a higher class- its shows could still rate rather highly). But we'll continue to encourage so it can outgrow its inferiority complex (and help some Pinoys outgrow their liit ng tingin sa sarili) and join in strengthening the Pinoy brand- because teleseryes have only one brand- Pinoy.

Hosted by Arnold Clavio, Alisto! features videos of tragedies, accidents, crimes, felonies, and other documented hazards—actual footage as captured by CCTV cameras, cellphone cameras, and other video recorders. Clavio also shares crucial tips on how to prioritize one's safety.

In its pilot episode, Alisto! tells the story of an accident that took place in Sual, Pangasinan: a commuter bus lost brakes and turned upside down on the road. Casualties were recorded, but it was seven year old John Christian who suffered the most squeezed in a window.

Eyewitnesses volunteered and manually pulled John Christian from where he was squashed. But the eagerness to help only made it worse for John Christian's condition.

Alisto! also tackles the latest Modus Operandi that uses children as accomplices in thievery. Featured are women being beaten by their partners caught on CCTV cameras. What should one do upon witnessing such acts?

Veteran actor Dick Israel passes away at 68

Veteran actor Dick Israel has passed away. He was 68. Vivian Velez broke the news through her Facebook account Tuesday night, October 11.

In an interview with DZMM, Velez said Israel's son told her that the actor started vomiting blood before he died inside their house.

In July, photos of the actor went viral in social media after his neighbor shared his condition after a fire hit his family's house, which destroyed almost everything he had worked for in his long showbiz career.

Israel made 200 movies and some roles on television before he suffered a stroke in 2010.

Dick Israel Was Found Dead

Veteran character actor Dick Israel passed away Tuesday night, October 11.

According to his son, the actor started vomiting blood before he was found dead inside their house.

In July, a fire hit the Israel's family's house, which destroyed almost everything he had worked for in his long showbiz career.

He also suffered a stroke in 2010 that left half of his body paralyzed and affected his speech.
