Kisses Delavin admits feelings for Marco Gallo #PBBFriends4ever

This could count as one of the most surprising admissions ever on Pinoy Big Brother.

On tonight's episode of PBB Lucky Season 7, housemate Kisses Delavin admitted to Kuya that she really likes co-housemate Marco Gallo.

She and Marco were used to be close, but the latter eventually became closer to Vivoree, and even admitted mutual feelings for each other last month.

"La Promesa" Capitulo 2: How To Silently Show A Teleserye

A sign that it was barely publicized, it is only now that the Peruvians have started arriving to the blog searching for "La Promesa serie filipina". For the last two days, the Peruvians have been the biggest readers of this blog. It started when the Latin American distributor released a few press releases   and posted a few episodes (at least 3) on Youtube a five days ago. The dearth of publicity around the showing of the teleserye on September 22 from the usual outlets that release publicity materials from the Panamericana station of Peru was puzzling.

It should be remembered that when the first teaser of the teleserye was shown just after the end of showing of  Pinoy teleserye "Puentes de amor" a few months ago, the alleged "avid fans" of the perennially low-rating South Korean dramas protested and for strange reason, bashed Pinoy teleseryes. The Peruvian authorities probably are still not aware of the usual modus operandi of the alleged South Korean "fans" in other countries where they also have low-ratings, like the Philippines, where they hold manufactured noise to pretend a  fandom to exert pressure. My professor friend suspected the usual Panamericana outlets were subsequently stymied in publicizing "La Promesa" online because they apparently avoided the noisy pseudo-trolls. The initial copious publicity became scarce, especially that the teleserye's showing  had to delayed because of the slow dubbing into Spanish. When it was time to show, I myself only became aware of its showing not from the usual publicity outlets used by the station but from a passing comment in a Peruvian forum.

There is another "La Promesa" series from Colombia, so that if one googles the title of the series, the one from Colombia is often returned. One has to emphasize it was the "serie filipina".

Filipino Viewers Set to Experience the Most Terrifying Horror Movie QUIJA: ORIGIN OF EVIL

It was never just a game.
Inviting audiences again into the lore of the spirit board, this Halloween, Universal Pictures' Ouija: Origin of Evil - from Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse - tells a terrifying new tale as the follow-up to 2014's sleeper hit that opened at No. 1.
In 1967 Los Angeles, widowed mother Alice Zander (Elizabeth Reaser of the Twilight franchise) adds a new stunt to bolster her séance scam business and unwittingly invites authentic evil into her home. When the merciless spirit overtakes youngest daughter Doris (Lulu Wilson of Deliver Us from Evil), this small family confronts unthinkable fears to save her and send her possessor back to the other side.
A year and a half after her husband was killed, financially strapped Alice finds herself raising 15-year-old Paulina ("Lina") (Annalise Basso of Oculus) and 9-year-old Doris alone.
Fortunately for her struggling business, the occult runs in Alice's blood. Her mother was a fortuneteller and passed down the tricks of the trade, allowing Alice to put on an extravagant sideshow for clients who wish to speak with lost loved ones. The aspiring clairvoyant doesn't feel she's a fraud. Instead, she believes she's peddling closure—the elusive kind she prays to find for herself.
With mounting unpaid bills, Alice purchases a Ouija board to spice up her charade and rivet her customers. But once the game is brought into her home, strange things begin to happen: inexplicable noises, daily nightmares and, most disturbing of all, Doris actually starts communicating with the dead, including her father.

Initially, the revelations seems like a gift. Alice's business booms and clients find comfort connecting to those who have passed on, until the true history of the house is unearthed. Decades prior, a deranged surgeon performed grotesque experiments on mental patients under the same roof. Now, to make their screams of anguish heard, one of the tortured has taken possession of Doris.
The girls' school principal's, Father Tom (Henry Thomas of Gangs of New York), deep concern for Alice's family leads him to investigate the case. But when the four of them must face a supernatural power (Doug Jones of Pan's Labyrinth) for which even the priesthood could not prepare Tom, they will see that the spirits who've opened the portal have no intention of closing it without a deadly fight.

Ouija: Origin of Evil is produced by Platinum Dunes partners MICHAEL BAY, BRAD FULLER and ANDREW FORM (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Purge series, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Blumhouse Productions' JASON BLUM (The Purge and Insidious series, upcoming Get Out), alongside Hasbro's BRIAN GOLDNER (Transformers and G.I. Joe series) and STEPHEN DAVIS (Ouija).
MIKE FLANAGAN (Oculus, Hush) directs from a screenplay he wrote with his Oculus and Before I Wake collaborator, Jeff Howard.
Opening across the Philippines on OctOBER 26, "Ouija: Origin of Evil" is distributed by United International Pictures through Columbia Pictures.

Tony Velasquez Anchors DZMM Teleradyo's Noontime Newscast HEADLINE PILIPINAS

DZMM, ABS-CBN's flagship AM radio station, continues to revolutionize its delivery of news with the launch of the noontime national newscast "Headline Pilipinas" on Monday (October 10), 12:30pm, that will air exclusively on DZMM TeleRadyo on cable and ABS-CBNTVplus.

The announcement came as a welcome surprise during the station's 30th anniversary celebration held at the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Pasay City early this week that was attended by past and present anchors, reporters, and employees of DZMM 630, which was established in 1986 at the end of Martial Law.
"Headline Pilipinas," a stand-alone program on TeleRadyo, DZMM's news channel on television, will be helmed by veteran broadcast journalist Tony Velasquez, who together with ABS-CBN Cebu's Leo Lastimosa and ABS-CBN Davao's Melanie Severino will deliver the latest and most relevant news gathered from all over the country, giving voice to Filipinos from different regions across the country.

ABS-CBN Integrated News & Current Affairs head Ging Reyes said this is just a part of DZMM's continuous evolution to keep Filipinos updated on things that matter to them, to help them make informed decisions in their day-to-day lives.
"We are building upon the gains of Teleradyo by transforming it into a nationwide platform. This way, DZMM continues to be relevant to our news audiences. Expect stronger programming, more current affairs content, and a fusion of style and substance that will continue to improve as technology evolves and as we become more and more present in the digital space," she said.

Reyes led a "who's who" list of attendees to the station's anniversary party, which featured production numbers by singers Jona, Morissette, Kyla, Imelda Papin, Rico J. Puno, Darren Espanto, Arnel Pineda, Noel Cabangon, Jed Madela and actor Piolo Pascual, who sang in DZMM's latest station ID. DZMM anchors Doris Bigornia, Gerry Baja, Anthony Taberna, DJ Richard, Carl Balita, Marc Logan, Gus Abelgas, and Kabayan Noli De Castro also showcased their singing talent while Radyo Patrol Reporters like Angel Movido, Robert Mano and Raya Capulong danced to the hits of the '80s to the present, with anchors Nina Corpuz, Atty. Claire Castro, Maresciel Yao, Toni Aquino, Jasmin Romero, Neil Badion, DJ Chacha, DJ Bea, Gretchen Fullido, and Ahwel Paz.
ABS-CBN president and chief executive officer Carlo Katigbak stressed the station's strong commitment to public service, a core value of the news organization.
"We have two larger goals, the first is to stay relevant to our audience and continue to deliver useful information that matter to them by the people that matter to them. Our second goal is to fulfill our mission to be in the service of the Filipino people. It means we're not just journalists and nation builders. We are also advocates that champion the causes that are closest to our values as an organization. It means that we need to help find solutions to the problems that we discuss on air," Katigbak said, after highlighting DZMM's many public service programs, including the Teaching Learning Caring (TLC) classroom and clinic-on-wheels that served victims of calamities in the past years.
Other ABS-CBN executives also paid tribute to the men and women who contributed in making DZMM the number one AM radio station in Mega Manila, and TeleRadyo as the number one Filipino news channel on cable.
Charo Santos-Concio, host of "MMK sa DZMM" and ABS-CBN Chief Content Officer said, "Maraming dapat ipagdiwang at ipagsalamat kagaya ng inyong husay, sipag, at tibay sa loob ng 30 taon na siyang dahilan bakit patuloy na nagbabaga ang tungkulin nating magsilbi at tumulong sa ating kapamilya."

DZMM's 30th anniversary celebration continues with the airing of a documentary on its beginnings, challenges, and its coverage of some of the biggest news and events in Philippine history, as told by DZMM anchors and reporters in the past three decades. Watch "30/630: Kwento ng DZMM" on "Sunday's Best" this Sunday (October 9) at 11:30pm after "Gandang Gabi Vice" on ABS-CBN or ABS-CBN HD (SkyCable ch.167).
The documentary, narrated by DZMM anchor Vic De Leon Lima, will be replayed on DZMM TeleRadyo on Monday (October 10) at 5pm and on October 15 at 6pm. You may also watch it on www.iwantv.com.ph.

(Photos) Pinoy Boyband Superstar's Most Touching Moments Compiled

pbs

"Pinoy Boyband Superstar" is currently the most watched weekend program in the country, and it's not hard to see why. The program is teeming with cuteness, charm, and talent from aspiring heartthrobs, who have to impress girls and superstar judges Vice Ganda, Sandara Park, Yeng Constantino, and Aga Muchlach on the audition stage.

But while all these wanna-be boyband members dream of getting into the showbiz industry, they do it not just for themselves, but also for people who matter to them. We, viewers, are given a glimpse of who these boys are and what they're fighting for – whether they want to give a better life for their family and where they get their inspiration from.
Here are five heartwarming stories that prove that these boys are more than meets the eye:
1) AEIOU SINGS FOR HIS MOM
Twenty-year-old Aieou Villanueva lost his dad to cancer at the age of four. So now, he is doing his best to take care of and is paying for the medical expenses of his mom, who suffers from different illnesses and needs to undergo therapy.
In his audition, Aieou sings his parents' 'theme song' and dedicates it to his mom, bringing Sandara and Yeng to tears.

2) ANTHONY REUNITES WITH HIS FATHER BOOM
"Kahit parang stranger siya sa akin, I see so much of myself in him," said Anthony Labrusca of his dad, actor Boom Labrusca, who he never had much of relationship with while growing up. It's the first time they had ever seen each other in years, and no one knew what to expect from their reunion, with Anthony's mom present too.
But all was well in the end, with Boom praising his son and telling him how proud he is of him.

3) WILBERT CALLS HIS MOM HIS NUMBER ONE SUPPORTER
Nineteen-year-old Wilbert Rosalyn never saw his biological dad. In fact, he said he joined "Pinoy Band Superstar" because he wants to get to know his father and prove himself to him. "Ito 'yung anak niya ngayon na dapat niyang ipagmalaki sa lahat, hindi 'yung iwan," he said tearfully.
Although he said there is a missing part in him because of his father, he has his mom whom she considers his number one supporter. In his audition, he declared his love for his mom and said, "Sa lahat ng success at failures ko, andun siya lagi."

4) TIM CONQUERS HIS FEARS
Tim Feller did not pass his audition in front of the superstar judges, but his audition sent a message to people with insecurities who are too scared to try something: Just do it.
Before appearing in the show, he had never performed in front of other people. His mother, who had not even heard him sing, was emotional the whole time.
"More than the chance of being able to pass this audition, ang mahalaga ay nagsisimula ka na sa isang bagay na matagal mo nang sinimulan. This is the start. Diretso lang," Vice told him.

5)  NIEL DRAWS INSPIRATION FROM HIS BLIND BROTHER
Life has been tough for Niel Murillo, who is the fourth of eight children and recently stopped attending school due to financial difficulties. Despite this, he is hopeful he can use his talent to help his family.
His biggest inspiration is his brother, who lost his vision after being shot in the head years ago. Neil hopes that his dreams and personal success will pave the way to the improvement of his family's welfare and help his blind brother be able to see again. Let's see if Niel makes it in the competition, and if his audition video on YouTube (which has now garnered almost 2.3 million views) is any indication, he will be doing well.

Remember Pat Boone, The Rival Of Elvis Presley In The 50s? Now 82, He's Coming To Manila To Do A Christmas Concert

PAT BOONE is coming to town to do a Christmas concert at the Big Dome in December. Da who si Pat Boone? He was the rival of Elvis Presley in the 50s. But unlike Elvis who gyrated and rocked until he became the King of Rock and Roll, Boone cultivated a more clean and safe image because he is a conservative Christian and is already married. He was being paired with Marilyn Monroe but he didn't accept it because of his religious beliefs. He was considered Number 2 to Elvis.

He also opted to do wholesome films like "April Love" (whose theme song became such a big, big hit) and he had to ask his wife's permission first if he could have a kissing scene with his leading lady, Shirley Jones. His other popular films include "Bernardine", "Mardi Gras", "Journey to the Center of the Earth", "State Fair" and "The Main Attraction". His other hit songs are "Blueberry Hill", "Speedy Gonzales", the theme from "Friendly Persuasion" and "Love Letters in the Sand". By the 60s, his career has waned and he turned to singing gospel music.

We just saw Pat Boone in the recent faith based Christian film, "God's Not Dead 2" released early this year. We didn't know it was him until we saw his name in the credits and realized that yes, he's the former teen idol. He is now 82 years old and he played the grandfather of lead actress Melissa Joan Hart (Sabrina Teenage Witch"), who played the role of an uncompromising Christian teacher and he backed her up all the way after she was sued by some annoying guys for standing up for her beliefs.

Boone is now old and wrinkled but I don't know if he were able to maintain his good voice at 82. Since his Manila concert is Christmas-themed, he will be singing a lot of very popular Christmas carols. Here's hoping his avid fans in the 50s and 60s are still around and eager to watch him performing live and in person while on concert at the Araneta Coliseum.
