SHOW DESCRIPTION: Encantadia (2016 TV series) is a Filipino fantasy television series by GMA Network. It is dubbed as the modern requel (retelling-sequel) to the 2005 fantasy series with the same name. The show was first aired on July 18, 2016 in the Philippines and worldwide through GMA Pinoy TV.

The cast including those who will portray the sang'gres or keepers of the four gems were revealed on April 4, 2016. Kylie Padilla played the role of Amihan, Alena by Gabbi Garcia, Danaya by Sanya Lopez and Pirena by Glaiza de Castro.

It is based from the hit sineserye produced by the same network, Kung Aagawin Mo Ang Langit which stars Carla Abellana, Mike Tan and Michelle Madrigal.

Encantadia is a vast and magical continent in an "unnamed", enchanted realm. It comprises three kingdoms: Lireo, Sapiro and Hathoria. These three kingdoms, and the Lirean territory, Adamya, bear the four elemental gems that hold the continent in balance. Lireo, in the east, is the kingdom that cared for the gemstones of air and water, with its territory, Adamya. Sapiro, the northern kingdom, kept the gemstone of earth and had its lands blessed with precious metals and stones, and its soil fertile unlike any other land. Hathoria, the kingdom of the west, held the gemstone of fire and utilized it for the development of weapons and war machinery.

The three kingdoms were able to live in peace, but day came when the Hathors (inhabitants of Hathoria) gave in to their greed and started a war to claim the other gems, that they may gain power and rule over the whole continent. The Hathors first waged war with the Sapiro, in pursuit of the gemstone of earth. The Sapiryan king, King Armeo, before Sapiro's fall, was able to kill the Hathor king and claim the gemstone of fire. Sapiro, after the war, was left in ruins. While the death of the Hathor king, and the loss of the gemstone of fire, weakened the Hathor force and made them retreat. King Armeo gave the gemstone of fire and earth to his older cousin, Raquim, and willed that the gemstones be given to Ynang Reyna of Lireo for safekeeping. The four gems have not been separated since.

Years have passed and the story unfolds in Lireo, where Ynang Reyna, Minea, will choose her successor from her daughters Pirena, Amihan, Alena and Danaya. She and Imaw, an elder from Adamya, can feel imminent danger lurking, and as the gods call her to Devas, she has to leave the kingdom of Lireo in good and capable hands. She put her daughters to the test to see their capabilities and know who is best fit to be the next queen. Minea chooses and crowns Amihan, which to Pirena's dismay, led to her rebellion. The chain of events that transpired made way for the separation of the gemstones. Pirena, after having stolen the gemstone of fire sided with the Hathors and gave them back the power they've lost. Hathor now plans to rise up from hiding and bring Lireo to its demise, with the end in view of ruling over the whole of Encantadia.

SHOCKING: Super Typhoon Lawin Compared To Yolanda, You Better Read THIS! Keep Safe Everyone!

Lawin continues to wreck damage in Northern Luzon, specifically Isabela, Cagayan, Isabela, Kalinga and Apayao. PAGASA warned the said provinces to do the necessary preparations as it is being compared to supertyphoon Yolanda which swept the entire Eastern Visayas.

According to records, the two are almost of the same speed, strength, and diameter.

Lawin:

– maximum sustained winds of 225 kilometers per hour

– gusts of 315 kph

– 800-kilometer diameter

Yolanda:

– maximum sustained winds of 235 kph

– gusts of 275 kph

– 600-kilometer diameter

“Si Yolanda, napakabilis, so ‘yung pag-ulan niya hindi masyadong naiipon sa isang lugar hindi katulad nitong si Lawin na much ang bagal niya, o mas mabagal siya kay Yolanda [Yolanda moved faster, so the rains did not fall in a single area, unlike Lawin which is moving slower than Yolanda],”says PAGASA Weather forecaster Jori Loiz.

Its surge is being compared to Typhoon Juan in 2010 having an average of 5km vis a vis Juan’s 4.6-6.8 meters.

It has the same track as with 8 other typhoons, but it is closer to Typhoon Iliang which hit PH back in October 1998.

“Kasi ang forecast natin ay maglandfall siya sa may Cagayan-Isabela area, tapos si Iliang ay doon talaga sa Isabela naglandfall,” says Rosa Barba, senior weather specialist, Climate Agromet Data Section of PAGASA.

Meanwhile, everyone is still advised to take precautions.

On June 11, 2012, it was moved again at 5:30 pm.

Coleen Garcia, Xian Lim

Xian Lim and Coleen Garcia pair up for a new movie

Xian Lim and Coleen Garcia are set to star in a new movie to be directed by Jason Paul Laxamana, the director of the currently showing Star Cinema film The Third Party.

A story conference was held in Star Cinema's office on Friday afternoon, October 21.

Xian revealed that Coleen is one of the many Kapamilya female stars he wished to work with.

The movie is yet to be titled and will be out in cinemas soon.

Meanwhile, Xian's perennial partner Kim Chiu has learned the news in advance. In fact, Kim is happy for her Mr. Right that new opportunities knock to each one of them even if it means that they won't be working together.

"Kami naman open naman na kami kasi hindi naman na kami teenager na napapabilang pa sa sweet loving loving, andami na kasi teen love teams. E medyo nasa mid-20s na kami so parang wag na tayong makisali doon at kung ano ang binigay sa atin trabaho yun na lang."

Rocco Nacino Renews Contract As Kapuso, Talks About Rumored New Love Sanya Lopez & How He Moved On After Lovi Poe Broke His Heart

ROCCO NACINO is so happy, looking like he just won in the lotto, when GMA-7 hosted a solo presscon for him for the renewal of his contract as a Kapuso star. Is it true his talent fee has been doubled? "No, they gave me an increase but I'm not at liberty to reveal how much," he says. "Basta I'm feeling so happy kasi I feel so loved na they want me to stay in their roster of talents for the next three years."

He's really lucky because he's only the second runner up in Starstruck 6 but he's now the most successful discovery in their batch. The winner, Stephen Silva, and the 1st runner up, Enzo Pineda, have both left GMA-7, including the female winner, Sarah Lahbati. "I guess it pays to be loyal and to just keep on working hard and doing your best," he quips.

He plays the role of Aquil in "Encantadia". How did they feel when their show edged out their rival in the ratings game? "Siempre, palakpakan kaming lahat, the whole team was jubilant. Mas ginanahan kaming magtrabaho. At sana, mas marami pang manood now na it's not a requel anymore but a retelling na with new stories."

So how is Sanya Lopez as Danaya, his love interest? "She's okay. Magkasama lang kami sa workshop kanina."

The show's fans seem to like them a lot and are following their daily exchanges on Twitter, calling their romance a Twitterserye. "Yes, the feedback is encouraging. Parami nang parami ang fans ng love team nina Aquil at Danaya and parami rin nang parami ang mga eksena namin ni Sanya together. May mga nagre-request na nga na sana, huwag na lang patayin si Aquil, kasi sa original, he was killed. But what we have now is a retelling. So may new twists na in the story and you'll never know what will happen next."

So what's the real score now between him and Sanya? "I'm really getting to like her. She's very attractive and I like her passion and enthusiasm for her work. I enjoy her contagious laughter and I admire her eagerness to learn. I can feel that she's very focused on her career kaya naman

tinutulungan ko siya, lalo na sa fight scenes. Both of us kasi are warriors at marami kaming action scenes so I make it a point na alalayan ko siya. But as to where all this is going, let's see. Mahaba pa naman ang itatakbo ng show dahil until next year pa kami, e. As of now, though, I can feel na pareho kami, career muna ang focus, lalo na ako, dahil marami pa akong roles na hindi nagagawa. Dream ko pa to have my own album, and there's a plan for our successful 'Oh Boy' concert to do a provincial tour and in May, there's an invitation to take it abroad kapag tapos na ang 'Encantadia'."

Her ex, Lovi Poe, has been quoted that if it's true that he and Sanya are an item, then she's happy for them. How about him? Is she happy for Lovi and her reported new foreigner BF whose photos she has posted on her social media account?

"Hindi ko pa nakikita yung photos nila. Kasi I don't follow her anymore. Basta she played an important part in my life before, but I have already accepted na hindi siya talaga para sa akin and I have moved on. Ayokong masabing bitter ako. Nagulat lang ako when she broke up with me, but I realized, what's the better way to show that you really love someone than to willingly let her go. Maging masaya ka na lang para sa kanya."

What if GMA would pair them again in a new show? "Okay lang for me to work with her, pero siguro, mag-workshop muna kami."

Glaiza De Castro Has Charity Show/Meet & Greet With Fans At UP Cine Adarna This Saturday, October 22 To Help PGH Pediatric Cancer Ward

GLAIZA DE CASTRO is so busy with her role as the fiery Pirena in the hit GMA-7 primetime telefantasya, "Encantadia", that she has to turn down other offers. But she cannot say no to doing charity work, so she top bills a fundraising show this Saturday night, October 22, at the UP Cine Adarna, Magsaysay Ave, UP Campus, 6 PM, for the benefit of the PGH Pediatric Cancer Ward. She's doing this after just organizing a successful fun run for the benefit of Special Education students in Valenzuela City a couple of weeks ago.

"I'm getting so many blessings in my life, so I feel I should give back," she says. "Taon-taon ko namang ginagawa ang ganitong charity projects para makatulong sa less fortunate fellowmen natin. Ang nakakatuwa lang, ang daming gustong sumuporta para tumulong kaya nakakaganang ulit-ulitin."
She's getting raves for her portrayal of Pirena where her dominant screen presence threatens to overwhelm her co-stars. One editor even said she now joins the ranks of immortal contravidas in local showbiz like Celia Rodriguez, Carol Varga and Zeny Zabala.

"Mahirap siyang gawin kasi sobrang intense ni Pirena. Kung minsan nga, nadadala ko na siya sa totoong buhay," she laughs. "But I'm enjoying being Pirena. Ang gusto ko lang, sana makita ng viewers na hindi siya basta masamang tao kundi may reason why she became bad."

Sunshine Dizon, the original Pirena, is also part of the new "Encantadia". Has she asked for tips from Sunshine? "No. Nahihiya ako. At saka, we don't have any scenes together."

She's being offered the lead role in "Manananggal sa Unit 23 B" but she begged off. "Kasi inuumaga kami sa taping ng 'Encantadia' at ayokong mag-suffer yung movie at mabitin sila. Our show is running until next year and I vowed to focus and be totally committed on this muna. I'll record my next album and I'll accept movies next year na kapag tapos na ito. For my second album, I'm now writing new songs. I just finished one, nakakaiyak siya."

She was linked to Benjamin Alves who wrote the blurb for her first album, "Synthesis". Benjamin is now playing beautiful music with Julie Anne San Jose. What happened between them? "Nothing. Although we became the best of friends, never naman naging kami, there was no commitment between us. Kaya walang break up na nangyari like some people say. I'm happy for him and, yung mga nagsasabing galit ako kay Julie Anne, it's not true. Okay kami."

PART 7 ECE Board Exam Result 2016: UST's Masaru Nakaegawa is board topnotcher

ECE Board Exam Result for October 2016 has just been released today by the Philippine Regulation Commission (PRC), with Filipino-Japanese Masaru Nakaegawa from the University of Sto. Tomas as the board topnotcher, leading all 1,914 passers.

As the results showed, it wasn't a close fight for 1st Place. Nakaegawa's score of 92.30% was 3.0 points higher than the four placers who tied in 2nd Place, having 89.30.

The October 2016 Electronics Engineer Licensure Examination results were released 3 working days after the exam that was held in different testing centers in the country.

GMA must be jumping with joy, it has sold a teleserye again. Or is this a re-issue? This teleserye was released on 2008 yet. But it stars regional stars Marian Rivera & Dingdong Dantes. Marian Rivera is the biggest Pinay star in many geographic areas of the world like Africa & Indochina. To its credit, GMA knows how to produce stunningly beautiful stars. I wonder why they keep destroying the view with the low-rating kdramas they keep on inserting. Needless Halloween views as a result.

Anyway, another good news for Pinoy teleserye.

Live audience and viewers at home were left stunned by Team Anne Curtis' breath-taking, heart-stopping performance earlier for It's Showtime's 7th annual Magpasikat 2016.

Team Anne was composed of Amy Perez, Joey Marquez, Miho Nishida, Dawn Chang, Krissha Viaje, Maika Rivera, Paulo Angeles and Ryle Santiago.

My heart stops for awhile when Anne, together with Dawn and Krissha, performed "buwis-buhay" dance routines outside, while hanging from an insanely high, 100-ft building.

It was very dangerous. Hats off to the three girls. They absolutely took us higher, and brought a real treat to the viewers.

The other members, led by Tiyang Amy and Tsong Joey, meanwhile also performed aerial dance routines, but were done inside the Showtime studio.

I think we have a winner already, even if Vice Ganda's team is yet to perform tomorrow.

Yesterday's group of Jugs, Teddy, Karylle and Mariel Rodriguez plus Jameson Blake, Ronnie Alonte and some GirlTrend members, was also amazing, with their indoor music festival.
