Luis Manzano Joins the Fight Against Teeth Sensitivity; Share Your Sensodyne Experience and Fly to South Korea for Free

Tooth Hurts. More often when you have sensitive teeth, and the truth is that 9 out of 10 Filipinos suffer from sensitive teeth or pangingilo.

When this becomes more than just a daily irritant, those precious moments can quickly turn from memorable to regrettable.

Having sensitive teeth can mean anything from getting a mild twinge to having severe discomfort that can last for several hours. It can also be an early warning sign of more serious dental problems.” said Dr. Rannier Reyes of the Philippine Periodontal Society.

Sensitive teeth occurs when the layer of enamel becomes thin and exposes the softer dentine underneath. This soft layer makes up the inner part of the tooth leading to the tooth’s nerve center and triggers the pain you feel.

Other things that can cause sensitive teeth are:

  • Brushing too hard or using a hard bristled toothbrush
  • Teeth grinding
  • Gingivitis (gum disease)
  • Receding Gums

Now, “Say No To Ngilo!” as Sensodyne, the brand most dentists recommend, continues its fight against sensitive teeth with “Great Little Moments” campaign.

For two years now, GlaxoSmithKline, the makers of Sensodyne, the #1 sensitivity toothpaste in the Philippines which is also recommended by dentists, spearheaded the “Say No to Ngilo” advocacy where dentists, consumers and Sensodyne came together to enjoin everyone to heed the call to take action to no longer endure the discomfort of pangingilo

This year, GSK and Sensodyne takes the advocacy a notch higher with the launch of “Great Little Moments” digital campaign which encourages Filipinos not only to “Say No to Ngilo,” but also share their experiences after converting to Sensodyne and now they are able to fully enjoy their great little moments sensitivity-free.

With the start of the summer season, everyone is now looking for someplace or something cool, be it at the beach, the pool or even just a quick respite from the heat with some cold drinks or a cone of ice cream, but if you have sensitive teeth, enjoying those cold treats can be a bit tricky,” says Heather Pelier, Incoming Consumer Healthcare General Manager, GSK Philippines.

But it’s more than just missing out on food. When you choose to just endure the pain, you do it at the expense of fully enjoying experiences and social occasions that go along with it, making you miss out on those great little moments with your loved ones,” Pelier added.

The digital campaign encourages consumers to share their “Great Little Moments” in the Sensodyne Philippines website www.sensodyne.com.ph by uploading a photo of a moment (eg. sipping hot chocolate, eating halo-halo, etc.) they can now fully enjoy because they are pangingilo-free. Winners of the contest will win a trip for two to South Korea.

Luis Manzano Joins the Fight Against Teeth Sensitivity

Actor/Host Luis Manzano reveals the perfect partner for Sensodyne that will finally put a stop to this daily discomfort.

For those who have sensitive teeth like me, I know you’d agree that it is not something you can just ignore. Sensitive teeth can ruin the mood of any romantic date, or stop you from enjoying those unforgettable moments with your loved ones,” Sensodyne brand ambassador, Luis Manzano shares.

Heather Pelier adds, “Our message is simple, there is no need for sensitivity to impact anyone’s life. Making a simple change to one’s oral care regimen will make a real difference. Now that Sensodyne has reached out to more Filipinos who used to just endure the pain, we want to encourage them to tell their stories now that they can enjoy their favorite food and drinks and fully enjoy the eating moments with their family and friends without fear of pangingilo.”

Fresher breath with Sensodyne Mouthwash

With the launch of the new campaign, GSK is introducing the new Sensodyne Mouthwash to complement its toothpaste and complete its expert sensitivity regimen to help consumers put an end to teeth sensitivity.

Sensodyne Mouthwash has all the benefits of a regular mouthwash like providing lasting freshening effect, and fluoride to strengthen teeth and protect against decay.

It’s alcohol-free plus it gives pangingilo relief. It has two variants (Cool Mint and Extra Fresh 250mL) at Php165 SRP. The mouthwash is distributed in major supermarkets and drugstores nationwide.

We highly recommend that you use the Sensodyne mouthwash together with the Sensodyne toothpaste to give clinically proven relief and daily protection for pangingilo,” says Pelier.

So, if you have pangingilo, switching to Sensodyne to replace your regular toothpaste and mouthwash can make a big difference not only in your enjoyment of everyday life, but also in your overall oral health.

Don’t let the pain of sensitivity get in the way. Say No to Ngilo and Yes to those Great Little Moments!

"Pitch Perfect 2" Breaks PH Box-Office Records, Earns P200M in Box-Office

The Barden Bellas sang their way to Filipinos' hearts to the tune of a phenomenal P200-million. Universal Pictures' "Pitch Perfect 2" reached the record-breaking milestone yesterday and now stands as the highest-grossing live-action musical/comedy film in the Philippines. This was announced today by a spokesman of United International Pictures which distributed the film through Columbia Pictures.

The crowd-pleasing feature about an all-female a capella group opened nationwide May 13 and was the No. 1 film at the box-office for two weeks in a row – a feat previously unheard-of for a live-action musical/comedy up against action movies.

"Pitch Perfect 2" brought back original stars Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson, along with newcomer Hailee Steinfeld. It marks Elizabeth Banks' feature film directorial debut and is the second highest opening for a film by a female director in the US, behind only Sam Taylor Johnson's "Fifty Shades of Grey.” “Pitch 2” has already grossed a whopping $147.5-M in America from a modest $29-M production budget.

"People loved the first movie and it resonated well beyond that $65 million that the first film did," said Nick Carpou, Universal's domestic distribution chief, in a statement last May. "This was original [intellectual property] for us and to be able to build on the first film and expand its popularity is pretty amazing."

Back in the Philippines, the cinemas with the highest receipts for “Pitch Perfect 2” are Trinoma (P8.0-M), SM North EDSA (P7.7-M), SM Megamall (P7.4-M), SM Mall of Asia (P7.0-M), Glorietta 4 (P5.4-M), Greenbelt 3 (P4.7-M), SM Baguio (P3.9-M), Eastwood (P3.8-M), Ayala Cebu (P3.7-M), Gateway (P3.6-M).

Rounding up the Top 20 theaters are SM Cebu (P3.4-M), Power Plant (P3.3-M), Robinsons Magnolia (P3.2-M), Alabang Town Center (P3.2-M), Greenhills Promenade (P3.1-M), Robinsons Ermita (P3.0-M), SM Aura (P2.9-M), Market! Market! (P2.7-M), SM Dasmarinas (P2.6-M) and SM San Lazaro (P2.5-M).

In “Pitch Perfect 2,” it's been three years since the Barden Bellas (Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Brittany Snow) became the first all-female group to win a national title. All seems well until a botched Lincoln Center performance for the president leads to a scandal that strips them of their performing duties, causing internal tension and strife. With the world championships on the horizon in Copenhagen, Denmark, the women must get their act together for their one and only shot at redemption.

Still playing across the Philippines, “Pitch Perfect 2” is distributed by United International Pictures through Columbia Pictures.

Yeng Constantino vs. Gonzaga Sisters?

First, a hosting stint on "The Voice Kids". Now, an endorsement deal.

But no, Yeng Constantino denies the rumor that she is stealing TV and endorsement projects from Toni and Alex Gonzaga.

During last Friday's launch as the official endorser of Acer laptop, Yeng clarifies rumor that she's taking over projects intended for the Gonzaga sisters.

Hindi ko po pinalitan si Ate Toni [as Acer endorser], siya is sa cellphone naman. So I’m happy na we’re part of one family,” Yeng explained.

Even sa ‘The Voice Kids,’ hindi naman po actually forever mawawala si Alex at si Ate Toni. Actually nadagdag lang din po ako sa family,” she added.
