Kapamilya actress Angel Locsin and ABS-CBN broadcast-journalist Karen Davila are this year's AnakTV Makabata (Child-Friedly) Hall of Fame awardees for consistently making it to the list for the last eight years.
They will now be joining other Hall of Fame awardees like Gary Valenciano, Mike Enriquez, Mel Tiangco, Julius Babao, Korina Sanchez, Jessica Soho, Sarah Geronimo and Bernadette Sembrano.
For this year, selected by the national jury as the most “credible, wholesome and worthy of emulation are the following:
Makabata Awardees (Male)
Coco Martin, Daniel Padilla, Dingdong Dantes, Kim Atienza, Noli de Castro, Richard Yap, Ted Failon, Vic Sotto, Boy Abunda, Atom Araullo, Enrique Gil, Vhong Navarro, Daniel Razon.
Makabata Awardees (Female)
Charo Santos, Jodi Sta. Maria, Judy Ann Santos, Kathryn Bernardo, Kim Chiu, Anne Curtis, Toni Gonzaga, Marian Rivera, Alex Gonzaga, Arlene Razon and Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago.
Founded in 1997, AnakTV honors the choices made by thousands of Filipino jurors (composed of parents, teahers, NGOs, and other sectors of society) after a year-long assessment of television programs. Anak TV group is chiefly an advocacy organization that promotes media literacy, particularly television literacy, and pushes the agenda for child-sensitive, family-friendly television in the Philippines.
A total of 109 programs nationwide are to be recognized for this year after 9 mnths of thorugh evaluation.
Net 25 lead with 22 seals;
ABS-CBN (includes national and regional stations) with 18 seals;
GMA News TV and GMA Network with a total of 19 seal;
UNTV 17 seals;
PTV with 15 seals;
TV5 has 2 seals;
The rest of the remaining seals were shared by Zoe-Light TV, Studio 23 and IBC. Solar ETC is the only major free-to-air station that is not a member of the organization.
