Kapatid stars, news personalities, talents and top management including TV5's President and CEO Noel Lorenzana and its Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan came in full force wearing their statement t-shirts at the Harbor Tent of Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila on Wednesday night during the network's Trade Launch show.
Taking all things positive in the coming year, TV5 launches a new line-up of shows that depicts positivity, happy note, young love, taking action, public service, nation-building, and the world stage.
“We’re going to show that we’re really the Happy Network. It’s time to make the change. As our slogan said, it’s TV5’s time, this is our time. We’re going to change the television landscape. We’re going to give people happiness from breakfast to dinner time. We’re giving entertainment for everybody, every member of the family,” Lorenzana said in an interview.
Those seeking medical help and legal advice need not look further as the newly reformed Hayden Kho will partner with Radyo5’s Dr. Edinel Calvario for “Healing Galing” while Atty. Mel Sta. Maria will provide on-air legal counsel with the equally invaluable layman’s views of Gelli de Belen and Arnel Ignacio in “What’s The Problem?”.
As far as matters of the heart are concerned, there’s also popular radio DJ Papa Jack who will now host his own TV5 show, “Call Me Papa Jack.”
Catching up on the latest entertainment news and showbiz intrigues is now made easy with “Entertainment 5” or simply “E5”. The new talk show is headlined by KC Montero, IC Mendoza, Grace Lee, Divine Lee and Tim Yap.
There’s also “Happy Wife, Happy Life” headlined by athletes’ wives Danica Sotto-Pingris, Jeck Maierhofer, RR Enriquez, LJ Moreno-Alapag and Jinkee Pacquiao.
TV5 princess Ritz Azul will topbill a new show called “No Harm, No Foul” that teams her up with popular PBA players Beau Belga, Gary David and Willie Miller.
Also in the list are new sitcoms such as “Mac & Chiz”, which teams up hunky actor Derek Ramsay with comedian Empoy Marquez. There’s also “2 ½ Daddies” which finds Alice Dixson together with the popular Padilla brothers Robin and Rommel as well as BB Gandanghari.
Music is a big part of what makes TV5 programs click and for 2015, expect a different kind of dance competition series in “Move It (Street Dance Battle)” headlined by Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Tom Taus and Natalie Hart.
One interesting upcoming new program from News5 is “Kontrabando” which combines news and a little comedy as it features Lourd de Veyra, Ramon Bautista, Jun Sabayton and RA Rivera.
As for returning shows, “Wattpad Presents” will continue to bring the best romantic comedies from the popular Wattpad reading community while the top-rated gag show “Tropa Mo Ko, Nice, Di Ba?” will continue to remain on the air with fresh infusions of humor and laugh out loud sketches.
