Eugene Domingo Wins Favorite Actress in Asian Film Awards 2012

It's a wish come true for blockbuster comedy actress Eugene Domingo.
Eugene was very vocal about her desire to penetrate Asia and she thought by winning an international award (particularly mentioning the Asian Film Awards) it will easily bring her to fulfill that dream.
And in the recently concluded 6th Asian Film Awards awarding ceremonies which took place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center on March 19, Eugene wins People's Choice for Favorite Actress for her effective portrayal of herself in the movie Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank.
Meanwhile, another Pinay veteran actress Shamaine Buencamino was named Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the Indie film Niño. She bested Hong Kong / Mainland China’s Gwei Lun-mei for “The Flying Swords of Dragon Gate “, Thailand’s Cris Horwang for “Headshot”, Japan’s Mitsushima Hikari for “Hara-Kiri: Death of a Samurai” and Mainland China / France ‘s Yan Ni for “11 Flowers.”
Other winners include Indonesia's Donny Domaraw for Best Actor, Hong Kong's Deanie Ip as Best Actress and Andy Lau as People’s Choice Awards for Favorite Actor.
Taiwanese star Lawrence Ko took home Best Supporting Actor award besting Thailand's Mario Maurer who was also nominated in this category for his role as a monk in The Outrage.
India's A Separation, also a winner of Best Language Film at the 2012 Oscars was named this year's Best Film.
