“Ako I’m just being honest. Nung umpisa talaga hindi ako part ng cast. Happy ako na the night before the launching niya, pictorial and everything, tinawagan lang ako ng biglaan kung puwede nga ako mag-pictorial for a comedy show,” she related.Speaking during the show’s anniversary episode on Saturday, Panganiban revealed that she was not in the original lineup for the sitcom four years ago and was just a second choice.
But Panganiban said she did not think twice when “Banana Split” was offered to her.
“Ako naman siyempre wow. Huli kong ginawa 'yung “Ang TV," so sabi ko yes na yes. Maharot akong bata, gustong gusto kong nagpapasaya. Sobrang akong masaya na ako 'yung huling choice, second option lang ako, pero hanggang ngayon nandito pa rin ako,” she said.
Panganiban said “Banana Split” also paved the way for her and actor John Prats to become best friends.
“Ang best friend ko naman talaga ang kapatid niya, si Camille. Pero nung nag 'Banana Split,' magkasundo pala kaming dalawa. Si Camille, sobrang boring. Ang gusto niya pangmatalino, reading books (laughs),” she shared.
Panganiban is the only member of “Banana Split” who has been part of the show since season one. By wanderer || Full Story: Kapamilyalogy
