In an interview with “The Buzz” on Sunday, Gonzales said she and Maurer became close when they were shooting their movie “Suddenly It’s Magic” in Ilocos Norte.
“Kay Mario kasi sobrang komportable ako, kahit first time ko siyang makatrabaho. Ang gaan, walang ilangan talaga and 'yung familiarity nandoon kaagad,” she said.
Gonzales said she and Maurer would talk about their personal lives, and sometimes about love, when they were not doing scenes.
Gonzales said Maurer even gave her advice about life.
“Sabi niya lang talaga ‘Erich you enjoy your life.’ Napaka-playful niya,” she said.
Just like her, Gonzales said Maurer is also working hard to give his family a better life.
Gonzales said she is really fortunate to have been given a chance to work with Maurer.
In "Suddenly It’s Magic," Maurer portrays a Thai superstar named Marcus who flies to the Philippines to escape his busy career.
Here, Marcus crosses paths with Joey (Gonzales), a romantically jaded Filipina baker who is bound to spark "magic" in the boring life of the Thai celebrity.
“Suddently It’s Magic” will be shown in theaters nationwide beginning October 31.
